We might have to deal with any troops in the trenches nearby as they’d be the most likely to hear us scuffle with the guards in the tower. You time your teleportation and tree-walking to arrive simultaneously, some of you just inside the fence under the tower, some of you just outside the fence through a stunted tree. Almost immediately, soldiers in the north trench start shouting an alarm.

There's a troop of soldiers in the north trench, and of course the troops in the tower. You don't see any other *immediate* threats. Looks like Fin, Quasit, and Sakitu move before the enemies react.

@GM: Sorry, I screwed up, Quasit’s ooc post just above mentioned teleporting to the temple and I overlooked it…those of us traveling by plant (Fin, Kal, CT, & Bull) would still be arriving near the NW tower as that’s where most of the plants are.

Sakitu follows Quasit as quickly as she can. She glances over her shoulder at the troops and pauses. "Maybe this will slow them down." She taps into her magical nature for a couple seconds then points in the direction of the trench. Almost instantly a roiling mass of black clouds forms above the trench. Bright blue-white bolts of electricity arc down in sizzling strikes to the creatures on the ground.

Using Shadow Evocation to fake an Aggressive Thundercloud, Greater spell. DC 23 Will to disbelieve. Full dmg to anyone who fails the save, 1/5th dmg to anyone who succeeds the save. Everyone does a DC 23 Reflex to negate dmg. The first creature damaged needs a DC 23 Fort save to avoid being stunned.

Climbing is normally quarter speed, so a double move would get halfway up the ladder. If I read the Climb skill right, Quasit can attempt to climb at half speed instead with a sufficient Climb check, which would get her all the way up. Not sure of the DC, so I'll roll and GM can judge...

I'd call a ladder DC 0 to climb, and it's only a -5 to climb quickly, so that's plenty.

Fin and Sakitu catch the soldiers as they're just starting to realize they're under attack. Several of them die from Fin's arrows, while comparatively few are harmed by Sakitu's quasi-real lightning.

Quasit races up the ladder, her head just coming up to the level of the guard platform as the soldiers there realize they're under attack. The two with the big machine gun see Chest Thumper and open fire on him.

Then, he moves closer to the tower, knowing time is of the essence and that he is the slowest member of the team. He's sure they can deal with the people in the tower and he wants to start moving to their next destination immediately.

"I can't believe it. Those stupid soldiers saw through my illusion." Sakitu scoffs and shakes her head. "I bet they won't a second time." She goes through the motions of casting another spell. This time a burning globe of flame appears right on top of the troop.

Everyone does a DC 23 Reflex to negate dmg. This also ignites flammable surfaces. If it was a real flaming sphere then it might touch off all their ammunition but I'm guessing that since it is fake, the ammunition doesn't care.

Once the spell is cast, Sakitu starts climbing the ladder.

Dodging is not exactly Kalchine's forte and he takes a bullet or two.

In retribution, he calls down a column of fire and spiritual energy on the soldiers in the trench.

But Chest Thumper hardly pays attention, in fact, may not even know that his brother is taking some of his pain for him.

He rushes to the World Anchor machinery in the middle (provoking an AoO from her) and twists a dial. A bolt of violet lightning shoots out at Chest Thumper then branches out towards Quasit, Bulvi, and Maka.

The two soldiers on the machine gun fix bayonets and stab ineffectually at Chest Thumper before he grievously wounds one.

With the light shining in her eyes ruining her night vision it's difficult to tell for sure, but she thinks she sees movement to the south-southeast and to the east-southeast moving between the buildings in the camp.

Selena, you have to move to be in range, I'll assume you do so unless you'd rather not. I'll assume you're targeting the tower to the south rather than the one Maka is in the middle of.

You kill the remainder of the soldiers in the World Anchor tower, and Fin kills one in the east tower. Maka continues her spotlight-smashing spree. Selena steps foward and summons some tentacles on the soldiers in the tower to the south.

Maka sees the ugly-yellow mist below the tower surging upwards, while humanoid figures seem to be climbing over the fence it was 'contained' in.

The one free soldier to the south fires randomly at those of you who have climbed the tower.

Once her opponent is down, Quasit looks out to survey the situation, looking first to the south for the fearsome battle wagons making all the noise. But she quickly sees that the entire camp seems to be converging on them.

"Oh wow...oh man... no no no no..." she mutters in a doom-laden groan as she scans about.

"MAAKA! YOU'VE GOT COMPANY! SMOKE MONSTER UNDER YOU!"

"EVERYONE ELSE, GET UP HERE INTO THE TOWER! AND GET MIROSLAV UP HERE! WE'RE ABOUT TO GET SWAMPED ON ALL SIDES!"

"This is so bad, we're gonna have to kill them all!" she wails to those around her.

She lays her hands on the now abandoned machine gun and begins to aim at the things climbing the tower to the east inside the evil fog...

GM, can Quasit fire the machine gun in the tower that way? How would I roll for that each round? Does she need a second person to feed the ammo chain?

Several bullets rip through Sakitu's skin and she cries out in pain. Somehow she manages to keep hold of the rungs of the ladder. She continues the climb up. At the top, with her arms and legs trembling, she looks around. Quasit is doing something with the thing they call a machine gun.
