Hey Dabbler, Elan's still look 100% human in the updated rules correct? and does their trance look like they are sleeping or do they have to do something special to trance?
They are effectively indistinguishable from humans, yes. What form their trance takes varies, it can look like sleep if you want it to.

Just checking. I guess it will look like sleep then.

Does the short bow have a strength rating or is it a standard stregth 0 one?
Really thinking about grabbing this. although I'd rather use a long bow, I'd also like to actually hit something, and this is masterwork.

The way you're rolling that +1 won't matter. ;)
What I really meant to say:
Jlord, excellent job on the loot list. Thanks a bunch!

Yeah I know. I should have just bit the bullet and made a psion. It is basically like a wizard right? I chose Psionic warrior because it seemed the easiest to learn.
As for the loot, No Problem.

therealthom |

Things will come around. It doesn't happen often, but when the bow hits and crits, it is huge. You just have to live for that.
As for Psion v. psions warrior, I've got no clue. Tried psionics in AD&D and never again. Part of my reason for playing this game is to see psionics in action now.
About loot. The glasswork and anything else that was obviously her family's should probably go to AMeiko.
I'm pretty sure that Vaclav grabbed the holy symbol and demon book so he and Father Zantus can appropriately destroy them.
We should probably keep Tsuto's journal and read through it for more clues. What was the other journal?
I suggest everyone stake a claim to the items they can best use. We sell the rest and split the cash evenly.

hogarth |

I know this point of view with regards to magical treasure is usually unpopular, but...
...please think twice before claiming something semi-useful that we could sell instead. I'm thinking of the ring of jumping and the returning dagger. For example, I would much rather sell the dagger at half price and buy two +1 weapons with the proceeds.

That works for me. Unless it's something someone really wants, and we can all work out an appropriate way to even out shares of the treasure.

jlord |

I have some time tonight. I will figure out the grand sell total, and split it up evenly.
Usually I'm a fan of passing out treasure to those that need/want what is found. But I don't mind selling everything so everyone gets equal shares.
One thing that worked out well in the past: We figure out everyone's share before actually selling the loot, and then If some one wants something, then they can "buy" it from the party for half price from their share. In essence we would sell it to the party member, instead of a vender.
We can obviously make exceptions for certain things. If someone really wants to use the dagger for instance, and the shares are not enough, we can obviously work things out in this discussion thread.
Edit:
HERE IS THE TREASURE SPREADSHEET I will update when I know the value of the rest of the stuff. Everything in green is stuff I need a value for. Yellow are "party Items"
I think the second journal was Tsuto's, so I omitted it.

![]() |

Regarding Psion v. Psychic Warrior: In my opinion, Psions are actually closer to a sorcerer than a wizard because they have a limited power list rather than the potential for ALL THE SPELLS! like a wizard eventually can get.
Anyways, I'm good with the shares method of dividing the treasure; As for what Albrecht would want, all he would like is one of the four reach weapons (so one of the ranseurs or the glaive). In this situation, he's not picky.

Gob Slickarm |

Hey guys, I'm going to be out of town for a week, but I'll be able to post intermittently. Today, Sunday, and maybe Monday I'll be unavailable, and the following Sunday I'll be unavailable. Tues-Sat I should be able to post on occasion.
If combat happens, feel free to make Gob hide. He'll always try to use defensive ranged tactics in combat if you all need to NPC him.
As for loot, Gob will gladly take whatever the party is willing to give him.

therealthom |

Great spreadsheet jlord.
I'm fine with that method, but I see a couple of exceptions:
the holy symbol, jlord already put my name on. the demon notebook i'd like for the same reason. To decommision or destroy them. I'd rather not have to pay for the pleasure, but if the party demands it, Vaclav will pay. It's an RP thing.
As I posted before, the valuable glass should go back to Ameiko. Again if Vaclav has to buy it he will, but ....
The cure moderate potion I think we should keep in the group. Someone who is not Vaclav should hold it in trust for the party. Backup healing is important if we get split up or Vaclav can't get to a casualty.
Tsuto's journal is probably worthless, but we should hang on to it in case we need to read through it for extra clues later.
Alymora had a claim in on one of the daggers already. Just want to make sure she gets first dibs on that piece.
Likewise Gornak had taken a shine to the Glaive, I think.

jlord |

I'm fine with that method, but I see a couple of exceptions:
Yellow denotes party item, or in this case given to you to so you can destroy it. Like I said there are exceptions.
Marked the glasswork in blue to be discussed. I don't have a problem with giving it back to Ameiko, but just a note, Thanadros grabbed one of the more interesting ones when he found them. Not sure what it looks like, but he has it in his possession. If confronted, he has no problem giving it back, he just thought it looked like a nice piece of art. Does anyone else have a problem with leaving the glasswork with Ameiko?
Which dagger did you want Alymora? the silver one or the really magical one? assuming you still wanted one of them. you might be able to make use out of the burning hands scroll too if you wanted.
Thanadros is considering the short bow and possibly either the masterwork axe or the +1 sword. Thanadros is not a front liner, so if anyone else wants the weapons, by all means, I'm not even sure if I am going through with it. Once everyone else has made some claims, and we know the final amount, I will make my decision. It will probably be based on if I can afford a masterwork Composite Str Longbow or not, and how much I would have left over.
Not sure what kind of sword the +1 sword is. Albrecht don't you wield a sword?
I agree with the potion. Although Thanadros's ac is not the best, he is a back liner, and thus probably be one of the better to have it to help assist if one of the front liners goes down.

therealthom |

Sorry. Should have read your original post more closely.
I personally am mostly interested in cash this time around. (The longbow ate a huge hole in Vaclav's starting cash. I'd like to grab a mace for hand to hand, improve his armor, and pick up some odds and ends.)
That said, I'd rather everyone get what they want out of the split.

Gornak |

One thing that worked out well in the past: We figure out everyone's share before actually selling the loot, and then If some one wants something, then they can "buy" it from the party for half price from their share. In essence we would sell it to the party member, instead of a vender.
This is definitely my preferred method of splitting up treasure, but I've had resistance to it in the past.
Gornak is not actually that interested in the masterwork glaive; he'd rather have a non-masterwork one made for a Large creature.

Aylmora Mvashti |

Aylmora was using the +1 returning dagger until we cleared the dungeon, but I don't mind selling it now or letting someone else have it if the party wants. The silver dagger might be nice to hold onto - if no one else wants it Aylmora would be happy to hold onto it.
Would the masterwork glaive be worth more to someone with historical interests? Is there a sage in town who would be interested in it?
BTW, are the thieves tools masterwork? If so, Aylmora would be interested in holding onto those as well - she may take a level in rogue or another trapfinding/lockpicking class in the near future.
And Jlord - thanks for putting together the spreadsheet and tracking the party's treasure!

Yes I use a sword, but it is a Large Masterwork Temple Sword so that way I can flurry with it.

Dabbler |

Dabbler, how much are these things worth so I can wrap up the loot.
Sorry, should have got to this before:
tiny black silk gown = 25gp
tiny tiara of silver and gold = 50gp
pair of silver earrings = 50gp
6 pouches of gold dust = 50gp each for 300gp value total
8 pouches of silver dust = 5gp each for 40gp value total
And is the +1 sword a long sword? Yes it is.

Thanadros |

OK, assuming that all of those items are worth full value, that brings each share out to 1353 gp 5 sp 9 cp per person.
If you kept something from the loot, subtract the sell value from the share.
I will assume that Thanadros is holding the Party CMW potion unless told otherwise.
Thanadros Gear Update
Cure Moderate Wounds Potion (party item)
Cure Moderate Wounds Potion 300gp
Cure Light Wounds Potionx3 150gp
Antitoxin 50gp
Tanglefoot bagx2 100gp
Longbow +37.5gp
Mwk Composite (Str+2) Longbow 600gp
Hide armor +7.5gp
Mwk Hide armor 165gp
Money left over: 88gp 9sp 5cp
Let me know when everyone is done with the spread sheet, and I will trim the sold items.

Aylmora Mvashti |

Starting Share Value: 1353 gp, 5 sp, 9 cp
Aylmora is keeping the following items from the loot list:
--Scroll of Burning Hands (sale value 12 gp, 5 sp)
--Wand of Shocking Grasp, 28 charges (sale value 210 gp)
--Masterwork Silver Dagger (sale value 161 gp)
--Finely-crafted Thieves' Tools - I assume these are masterwork? (sale value 50 gp)
That leaves Aylmora with a remaining share value of 920 gp, 9 cp (plus 21 gp, 10 sp remaining from her starting wealth) with which to go shopping.

Vaclav Rennet |

I'd be happy to chip in to put the big man in some decent armor too.
Vaclav will just take his share in cash.
Jlord, thanks again for the treasure spreadsheet.
And I'm happy with Thanadros holding the cure potion.

![]() |

So Albrecht will take the Masterwork glaive for 154 gp of his share, and the rest in cash; the glaive is a bit too fancy for his tastes, but hey, it's just a tool.
So he has 1199 gp 5 sp 9 cp in cash from that, and after merging with his current wealth he is now at:
+1 Masterwork Glaive
1227 gp 5 sp 9 cp
And Albrecht would be more than happy to pitch in some cash to the "Armor for Gornak" fund. Hey, he's not doing anything with the money.

Thanadros |

Wow, you had enough money to make the glaive magical?
OK I think that is everyone, I'm going to clean out the treasure list.
If anyone needs to see the Treasure List in the future, feel free to use one of the links above. Thanadros also has a link at the bottom of his profile page.

Hm. Silly generic magic item names. No, I meant +1 as in (plus) 1 (more) Masterwork Glaive.

Thanadros |

Thanadros would have changed his shopping list with the discount to the following:
Cure Moderate Wounds Potion (party item)
Cure Moderate Wounds Potion 300gp
Cure Light Wounds Potionx3 150gp
Antitoxin 50gp
Tanglefoot bag 50gp
Longbow +37.5gp
Mwk Arrows (x5) +15gp
Mwk Composite (Str+2) Longbow 480gp (Discount)
Hide armor +7.5gp
Mwk Hide armor 132gp (Discount)
Longsword +7.5gp
Mwk Longsword 252gp (Discount)
Money left over: 62gp 4sp 5cp

Aylmora Mvashti |

Darkwood Buckler - 203 gp - 20% = 162 gp, 4 sp

I should check this thread more often!
It will take 24 hours to enchant the masterwork armour to +1, two days to enchant a masterwork weapon.
Gornak can find a masterwork or normal lucerne hammer from Savah's, yes; he can also find a masterwork ogre hook there.
Thanadros and Aylmora, those equipment lists are fine, although the party will have pretty much maxed out on everything the town has to offer in terms of alchemical supplied by the time you are done!
