One thing we should figure out before we start: What timezone are we each in and during which time of a day will we be most likely to be active and posting. You can use that to set a turn order so the game flows more quickly.
Not that it matters as much as the players, but I'm Eastern Standard Time (USA). I can be fairly active weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 (except on Wednesdays) p.m. and again from 9:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Weekends are more in flux, but if I'm home I'm happy to check the thread and post as needed.

I'm trying to figure out which character I will play. I'm reserving Rivani for use in another campaign I think, so characters I'm interesting in playing:
1) CD Estra
2) Alase (I was considering her when figuring out who I'd play for SoFF at the local store, but I don't think I'd play her in that campaign)
3) MM Alahazra (the utility could be very interesting here, but she'll overshoot a lot of checks; however, she doesn't really care about this because of her utility)
4) Korundo (but his CHA is crap and CHA is kinda important in Season 4)
5) OA2 character?
6) Tier 1 character I have in reserve (probably not; I like to keep characters "in AP" so to speak but I would do it if the character had only 1 chronicle)

Kiya Toren |

I'm going to play Grazzle...I've had a to-do item on my list for 2 weeks to go update the spreadsheet, but I haven't gotten around to it yet...
And I know Myr was thinking about Seltiyel, but I don't remember if he decided for sure or not...
Zeroth is right; Wikwocket is in CST.
I'm not too picky about turn order, since I can usually find time during the work day to log in for a bit.

Myrddin1209 |

Yep, I'm leaning Seltyiel at the moment, but I'm happy to switch to something else if I need to for class/skill balance.
As for timing, evenings are easiest for me, but I can sometimes find time to post during the day if needed too.
And I'm really looking forward to this. It should be a lot of fun. :)

Greetings! Looks like I'm the oddity who is in AST (Atlantic Standard Time).
I feel I should warn the table that this will be my first PACG OP game. I don't recall having played PACG F2F before, either... but I've played the heck out of Obsidian's tablet/PC implementation of the PACG!
Picked up the Bard Pack on discount special from a Friendly Semi-Local Gaming Store, have downloaded the OP Guide, and think I am ready to rock as Lem (or another Bard the party would prefer).
(Also foolishly grabbed the Mummy's Mask Character Pack, which I now understand can't be used to play PACG OP. :().
Cheers!

Hi all! Sorry I'm late to the thread; I didn't get a notification for some reason.
As noted above, I am in CST. I have more availability to check the game M-F 9am-5pm and 10pm to midnight. Evenings and weekends are variable. However if the game is ever waiting on me, Kiya and Myr can let me know by text. :)
I would like to play Raheli the Witch. Should I create a character listing for her on the site? Do I need to do anything to link her under the Characters tab above?

Redgar, welcome to organized play! This is my first play-by-post but OP is tons of fun. My wife and I play regularly with Kiya and Myr. I love having a character grow and evolve as they proceed through a continuous narrative. OP has some nitpicky rules about progression but it also brings some cool character enhancement features.
zeroth_hour, I'm not familiar with all the characters you mentioned, but I'm running Alase in a campaign, and I love her utility. With a few power feats, she can scout a ton of cards each turn, and she's also a Blessing machine gun when she follows other characters around. Tonbarse scales well for combat too.

Athnul 9251-5 |

I believe I took the last spot for this game. I have gone with Athnul the monk.Being in the U.K. I am well out of time zone sync but as long as I remember to post in the morning it should work. I will try to give clear instructions on when to use blessings and other helpful abilities and cards

Athnul 9251-5 |

you post in the gameplay thread and then delete your post (not deleting the post you made also works but makes the thread messier)
As an added bonus when you click on your sign in name and then click on the campaigns tab this campaign appears. This is the way I use to keep track of what campaigns I'm in

Hawkmoon269 |

Hi all! Sorry I'm late to the thread; I didn't get a notification for some reason.
Sorry about that. I sent a PM and it is showing in my sent messages, so not sure what happened there. I did discover that the search feature for finding users isn't as useful at it could be. I wonder if that had anything to do with it.

![]() |

No worries. I meant that I didn't get an email notification, but I have since realized the Paizo forums do not send them. :) I did get the in-page notification.
If anyone missed it, a guide for PACG Play bu Post was added in the main OutPost thread: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1QiVX2gSvn_N0nd-PYRtFvw3s1xV6Zz23y50sd95 FkWA/edit
I still need to send in a photo of my decks, but I do have my deck entered in the deck handler sheet. I'll post an intro in the Gameplay thread when I get organized.
Myr and Redgar, have you picked characters yet?

GM Hawkmoon269 |

Only a little over a week away from starting. I think we still need a character choice from zeroth_hour. If you've decided on your character, go ahead and post an initial character post in the "Gameplay" thread. Here is mine from another table as an example. The text is just the flavor text on Reta's token. But feel free to roleplay as you wish.
I'll post the first scenario with locations so you can all finalize turn order and location choices. That way we can hit the ground running on March 5th.

zeroth_hour2 |

I decided to not take any of these characters and go with Radovan instead. You don't have to change your character choice for my sake (since I wanted to play with the PFT deck anyway), but there are 4 spellslinging characters already and I'll be low on the spell upgrade list.
Meanwhile, Radovan still has d8+2 Diplomacy and decent Dex and Disable. Athnul doesn't use weapons and neither does Raheli; only Seltyiel uses weapons to a large extent so I'm going to get a decent pick here :)

GM Hawkmoon269 |

Be sure to hope over to the gameplay thread and select your starting location.
Putting all the timezones together and start at UTC and working west, I think this is the order:
Merisal The Risen (UTC)
Redgar (AST UTC-4)
Wikwocket (CST UTC-6)
zeroth_hour2 (PST UTC-8)
Kiya (PST UTC-8)
Myrddin (PST UTC-8)
Does going in that order and picking a random start player work for everyone? If you think strategically there is a reason to change the order or change the first player, you can definitely do that. And you can re-order at the start of each scenario.

Hawkmoon269 |

I'm going to be sending everyone a private message later today. I mention this because with the new website update, you won't get a notification that you have a new message. You'll just need to go check. The way to do that is to click "My Account" then "Private Messages". I'll post here once I've finished sending them all.

Hawkmoon269 |

Ok. PMs sent. It is to guage interest and agreement on starting a Google Hangout to facilitate communication (mostly to say "I'm done my turn, it's Grazzle's turn now." or "I encountered the villain, everyone needs to attempt to temporarily close their locations.") The advantage is that you don't have to check the campaign thread to find out the table needs your input. But I want to make sure everyone is ok with that. Don't reply here, please reply by PM so that anyone that isn't ok with it doesn't feel pressured to go along.
Thanks!

Heya! So, I'm at the Caravanseri, and I have drawn an item. I'm now supposed to draw an item from the box, pick one of the two to encounter, and banish the other. Does this mean I:
a) draw a random item from my class box; or,
b) draw a random card from somewhere else?
If b), where do I draw the card from? I see lists of Armors, Blessings, Spells, Monsters, etc... but no Random Items?

Hawkmoon269 |

(B) It is a random item from the Game box, which is what I have to do. I meant to include it in that list of items, but messed up the coding for it. That is my mistake. Sorry about that. I've posted a random item for you in the gameplay thread. The next update will have 5 items listed.
During the scenario, "the box" means the game box (not your class deck box).

A word about Traders
This is a quick primer on how traders work to help anyone that isn't familiar with them yet.
When do you visit trader?
You visit traders just before you pick starting locations. So, you'll be able to see the scenario setup (locations, villain, henchmen, scenario powers, etc) before you pick which trader to visit. Everyone has to choose traders before we draw cards because the amount of cards on offer depends on the number or characters visiting that trader. So, even if you don't plan to trade a card, you can visit a trader others are visiting to improve the offer. After completing your visit, you will pick a starting location then draw your starting hand.
How do I know what the traders offer and what they cost?
The traders list what they offer and what they cost. The number of cards offered is typically equal to the number of characters that choose to visit the trader plus 1, though there are a few exceptions. Falsin Deek is a trader. He offers items and costs 2 boons. If 3 characters visited Falsin Deek, he'd have 4 items to offer them.
What cards can I use to pay the trader cost?
You can use any card in your character deck. Remember, this is before you draw your starting hand, whatever cards you start the scenario with are available to use for the cost.
Where do the cards I pay as cost go? Do I get them back?
Put the first card you pay as cost back in your class deck box. Any additional cards for the cost are buried. You'll get them all back at the end of the scenario. The reason one goes in your box is that there are quite a few ways to retrieve buried cards. If you buried all your costs then managed to "dig out" all your buried cards you've essentially sneaked into a card feat. So, one is just in your class deck box temporarily.
Does my deck have to conform to my deck list after visiting a trader?
No. In fact, a lot of times it can't. If your character has 4 weapons on your deck list and you trade 2 weapons for 1 weapon, then you obviously will only have 3 weapons (4 - 2 + 1). If you think about that, this lets you do a neat little trick. Are you a spell caster that has an armor on your deck list? Why not trade it at Sunburst Market for a basic spell? You've essentially just swapped a card from armor to spell on your deck list.
Does my deck have to have a valid starting hand after visiting a trader?
Yes. You will still need to draw a starting hand after visiting traders. Which means you can't make trades that would make your character incapable of drawing a valid starting hand. If you favored card type is weapon, you have to have at least 1 weapon in your deck still after visiting traders.

Redgar's ACG Characters |

Question for the GM (or fellow players. ;))
Can I 'borrow' someone's blessing when I am not encountering something? I.E. can I borrow Radheli's Blessing of the Gods to use as a Blessing of Horus?
Edit: So, looking over the rules, I'm going to answer my own question as a "not for what I want to do", because I don't actually borrow cards from other players. They play them on me. BoHorus says: "move". Not "move any character".
If I understand the rules correctly, however, another player with Wisdom or Divine could discard a BotG to move to the Glass Pavilion, if they so desired.

You're right that Raheli can't use a Blessing of Horus to move you. But I'm not sure Raheli (or anyone) can use a Blessing of Horus to move on someone else's turn either, because the power continues with an explore. That said, the power does say "...then you *may* explore" & specifies that it can't be played during an encounter, so maybe you can play it to move on someone else's turn, and just not do the explore (because you can't explore on someone else's turn)?
But if you can do that, then can you use a Blessing of the Ancients to examine on someone else's turn? I guess I never really thought about it, because I feel like discarding a blessing to examine knowing I wouldn't get anything else from it seems like a waste. And I tend to forget that BotG can copy more than just the 2 dice power, so I never thought about copying BoHorus's move & explore at all.

Kiya Toren |

9 times out of 10, I use it for Remove Curse, because there are very few class decks with curse removal options & the curses can really pile up if you're not careful, especially in the second half of the AP. Of the ones we're playing with, I know Witch has the Staff of Curses, but I can't think of any others off the top of my head. There are quite a few other good options in the MM basics though.
