Party Tracker

I'm looking for 1-3 players to fill out my Season of the Runelords table for GameDay VII. This is currently a Cards Against Gnomanity table, with our last CAG scenario likely to finish during the upcoming week. The party (Balazar, Salim, Ezren) is currently halfway through Adventure 2.

Note that this is a fairly active table, with each player usually posting at least 2-3 times/day, including over weekends. The players would like to maintain this pace, so please check the gameplay thread for their typical posting rates, in order to ensure that it would be a good fit.

If interested, indicate either here or by sending me a Private Message.

I’m very interested! GM, I’ll send you a PM.

I am interested, and - as EmpTyger should know - I consider myself a reasonably active poster, especially if I can forgo flavor text every now and then when I have less time to post.

I would be planning to play Zadim (Inquisitor Class Deck) with Ultimate Equipment, and I'd solo my way through the scenarios up to this point, since I physically own the PDFs and the RotR set.

Let me know how many players you'd optimally want and if you have any particular preferences for a character or anything else.

I'll see y'all in Scenario 1-2D with a Tier 2 Yoon (and Gom-Gom)!

*preparing to blitz solo through similar to Zadim*

(Yewstance Here)

A Yoon player? Fascinating. The "heal as much as they discard" Occult Adventures Yoon or the "blessing, elemental beatstick" MM Yoon?

Anyway, I'll do my best to blitz through myself; give me 24 hours notice, however, and I can certainly be ready to jump in, if you'll have me.

For a little more context, we’ve got an RotR Ezren using Pathfinder Tales deck, CD Balazar + Ultimate Magic and me, CD Salim + Ultimate Intrigue. And an increasing majority of my deck is Intrigue, as it’s allowing me to lean into finesse and diplomacy.

We definitely don’t need to cover all bases, so this is more of an FYI: none of us are doing anything with Strength weapons, Heavy Armor or Divine spells (I’ve got a Cure, but that’s going to be it). We are all able to heal ourselves and I sometimes heal others.

Looking forward to new blood.

My Yoon is the Occult Adventures variant - headed for the Herald of Gom-Gom archetype! And my secondary deck is Warpriest (weird mix, yes, I know!)

(I don't know of a way to mix Warpriest with an Occult Adventures deck, Dinketry. You can only use Ultimate Add-On decks for that purpose. Is there a player boon I don't know about?)

Yewstance here, again. Ah, I'm a sucker for trying to round out the teams. I've got a million character/ultimate deck mixes I want to try anyway, and I think I'll save my poisoner-Zadim build idea for the upcoming S&S campaign, where I can at least get more use of focusing on the Craft skill.

So instead I'll be playing as Urgraz, the Hell's Vengeance 1 Antipaladin, with the Ultimate Intrigue add-on deck. That'll let me flesh out the party in terms of Strength/Melee and Wisdom/Divine. I'll likely be taking his Tyrant role when we get to that point, which most notably allows other players to ignore banishment costs, sort of. If nothing else, I can hand them Book of the Damned to banish and then grab back.

(As an aside, I saw individual bits and pieces I wanted from multiple Add-On decks. Utilize the second Cure and Riffle Scrolls (with Desecrate) via Ultimate Magic; use some of the most useful items and armor from Ultimate Combat... but ultimately I've gone with Ultimate Intrigue for the excellent Backsword weapons and a small handful of cards that serve very different purposes than what I have access to in my own class deck.)

Same strategy as before, still; I'm blitzing through adventure 1 with him as we speak.

Oh, and I'm really unhappy with my profile picture. There's at least 3 picture of Urgraz (rather than this Dwarf Antipaladin I could find), but the avatar selection of Paizo is very broken right now, and since the Urgraz images don't show up with filters, and I can't change pages due to more recently introduced bugs (all of which have been reported), it seems I literally am unable to choose the avatar image I actually want for now. That'll be fixed later, I hope.

Oops. That’s my idiocy there. For some reason I grouped Occult Adventures into the Add-On deck. Stupid stupid stupid.

How about Occult 2 with Ultimate Wilderness? I just got mine in the mail.

You both are planning to catch up in tier via soloplay. However, note that the party is on the scenario's last location, so the next scenario will likely start tomorrow. And if you haven't yet completed at least 2 scenarios via soloplay before joining the party, your character won't be able to advance to an eligible tier when the time comes for Adventure 3. Let me know how it's coming along?

If you haven't been able to play, don't worry. There is an alternative: you can join the party with an unregistered Tier 1 character for the remainder of Adventure 2. Then once Adventure 3 begins, you’ll switch to a registered Tier 3 character. You'll apply the rewards, upgrades, and feats your unregistered character earned to your registered character.
(This is known as the “taking one for the team” option, although I have no idea why it’s called that, honestly.)

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I’ve completed all the way up through 2-1C. I’ll likely start 2-1D in a few hours and bang out the rest tonite - if I need to jump in and join, I’ll do it with Yoon as is now and they’ll just be a few scenarios behind. I’m going to press to finish 2-1D though so I can get a Card Feat.

I will slam out as much as I can, albeit with my limited timeframe.

As a matter of fact, we cannot "Take one for the team", as written. We'd need to use a pregenerated character of an odd-numbered tier which is either equal to or 1 tier lower than the current adventure. That means that for an Adventure 2 game, we'd need to play a Tier 1 pregen.

Unfortunately, Take One For The Team is explicitly a rule only available under the section "Starting a Higher-Tier Character", so it seems unavailable for Tier 1 or 2 play, implicitly. Which is weird, but is how it's written. Anyway, I have at least completed 2-1A, 2-1B and 2-1C, so I can join if I must. But as I said, I'll try to get some more scenarios completed.

Depending on how close you are we can probably delay to let you in. There's a little bit of buffer in our turn order next game which will likely be Sal->Baz->Ez->Yn->Urg.

Fortunately it's moot in this case- you two are speedy!

(For the record though, I did confirm the procedure with cartmanbeck and he said that that's how it does work. I think that even though Tier 2 uses a Tier 1 character, it still counts as higher Tier play.
Otherwise, it causes the antisocial situation where a new player can't join a party during Adventure 2 without getting locked out of continuing; the new player becomes stuck at tier 1 when the rest of the [tier 3] party advances to Adventure 3.)

I’ve finished 2-1D. Onto 2-1E.

I ran out of time this morning, so didn't get the new scenario set up. So Dinketry and Yewstance have a little more time!

Still blitzing. On scenario 2-1F.

Is Yoon coming back and playing 2-1D with us?

Yoon is fresh from plowing through all of Scenario 2-1. She's ready to go!

Well, I woke up early and sped my way through a bunch more scenarios, and so I've officially completed up to and including 2-2C, which brings me up to speed. My Chronicle Sheets have been filled out and sent to our GM, and Urgraz is ready to join!

No hard feelings when he inevitably betrays you all after the season is over.

Anyway, I'm still looking for quite a few boons. I've only got 1 AD2 boon so far, and I'll be taking my Ally card feat after 2-1D... annoyingly right after the scenario that throws allies at you as its reward (Ugraz starts with 0 allies).

I'll give an outline of my character and strategic considerations and his abilities in gameplay when I begin proper. I carry a solid number of blessings and am always happy for players to take them whenever it's needed unless I give directions otherwise in my notes.

I didn't notice that y'all skipped 2-1D, but yes, Yoon will join you guys if you'd like in blowing up Big Chief Wortus again!

Sorry I put in the wrong scenario. We just finished 2-2C. We are just about to start D and haven't done 2-2D or 2-2E yet.

Ah, yes. Yoon has completed all of part 1. I may try to cram through part 2 now.
