The Winking Beaver is a large, flat bottomed barge ship. It looks more like a piece of the docks holding crates and barrels somehow broke free and is wandering about the open river waters. Captain Artgul Bairre is known more for his clever transactions and logistical manipulations than his leadership or skill on the water. Still, he's lasted this long in a world of constant dangers because hes never been shy of bringing on a few stout travelling companions. Besides, he owes Urth a favor and businessmen perish if they don't square debt.
For a time the rowers have it easy as you ease out into the greater passage, but to get through the first heavy rushing currents it takes a team of livestock to drive the barge by rope...giving Molok a chance to stretch his legs on shore with the animals. By the end of the day all signs of civilization are gone and the foilage turns from grassy plains to more and more swamp-like...
"Been reports of trolls along this line, every day seems... Bairre mentions "...mind, they be wanting you not the cargo."

Jax looks over at Molok What's wrong with taking a ship? If that works best, it is what we do.
Pindleton Montague IV
Sorry, crazy week, but here now!
Pindleton does indeed tell them what he knows about Vonindod and is eager to hear what Chipluck knows.
Heading out to the boat, Molok's unease is obvious, and Pindleton sympathizes.
"I also prefer the stable ground myself, Jax, but that's just familiarity. So I'm willing to tolerate a ship. But perhaps our stony friend's stomach is the one objecting?" Pindleton says with a wink and friendly pat on the back. "I will gladly sit and feel miserable with you as long as this ship riding business lasts."
Pindleton keeps Molok company if he desires, but otherwise passes the time trying to log as much of this information as he can, as well as dozens of questions, and an approximate map of their paths.
As Bairre discusses trolls, "Trolls?? Really? Ug. Nasty things. Thank you for the warning." He shakes his head and mutters largely to himself with a shiver, "Why trolls? Nasty, nasty things."
Molok Granite Fist
"My people are of the bones of the earth...and to be so far away from them...it makes me nervous. Stone does not float."
Molok gives a very brief smile at Pindleton, then looks grim at the talk of trolls.
"My discomfort will not stop me from protecting my friends, never fear."
GM Infinity
"Troll holes been in the 'moors long as any can remember. The giants seem to have stirred em up though..." Bairre mentions.
One of the shipmates leans back from guiding the edge with a long pole and offers his unprompted opinion, opening a mouth full of rotten teeth, spattering "Better 'day stay in 'dose holes...'enuf of 'em out they flock like tufffted 'titmouse..."
Tufted titmouse are small songbirds. ;P
"Aye." another acknowledges.
Night comes and the crew drops an anchor. With no sign of rain, most dare sleeping under the stars on strung up hammocks. The captain lights a hanging brazier with incense that helps to keep the water bugs away, and they take turns at the watch (implicitly expecting the party to also help on that score).
Sohar Ko-Chav

Sohar mostly listens quietly, ready to move on to the next challenge. His longing for travel and adventure has landed him in an interesting time, and he is content with that.
He is also willing to help with keeping watch at night.
GM Infinity
1d6 ⇒ 2
That night, during Sohar's watch, all are awakened by a great boom boom boom a sound like a side of beef falling on stone from a great height. It seems to be coming from the shore somewhere within the trees.
"Egads, what's that noise? Urth, is there a scout among your men?" the captain asks, clearly annoyed at losing rest.
Urth Stormraven
Portent: 2d20 ⇒ (9, 18) = 27
"Maybe, you don't actually want to over there?" Urth asks incredulously.
He looks around at his companions for scout.
Molok Granite Fist
Molok looks like he too would like to leave the vessel and examine the noise, or simply get off the boat, but he says nothing for he knows in these situations you need stealth, not brute force. None the less he readies his armor and weapons in case he is needed.
GM Infinity
The silent lead the brutes through the bog waters by canoe, until you reach the bank. You follow the noise up a rocky hill, the moonlight making the fog glow an eerie white. All the while *slap boom slap*...
The scouts crawl on their stomachs over granite, and at last find the source of the noise. A female fire giant seems to be repeatedly knocking a chained troll unconscious by picking it up with both legs and slapping it on the stone. It then waits for the troll to regenerate and wake up, before bashing it on the rock again. The giant must have been doing this for at least an hour. The troll seems to be driven half insane by this repetitive punishment, interchangeably laughing hysterically and gurgling blood.
Pindleton Montague IV
Pindleton whispers, "Well now, this is certainly a moral conundrum. I'm not really one to risk my life to save a troll, but that's just mean. However, I am one to be very curious about an odd situation like this. Why doesn't she just finish the troll off for good?"
Urth Stormraven
Urth follows with Molok and the other brutes. He lets his fey raven fly over the scouts and looks down from above.
GM Infinity
Weapon sizes are a bit different in 5e, and are based off of the wielder's size. The term I believe is "oversized". Since fire giants are huge, they get triple the normal damage for a greatsword (6d6 instead of 2d6). If you mean actual ft distance, its proportional to their height I would say, which is 18 ft toe to crown. So sword probably a good 15 ft long. Are you thinking of trying to wield it with some animal? If so awesome
Urth Stormraven
Urth, not much more to see from above. Are you flying it into the cavern?
Thought about it, but I supposed that it was further than 100 feet (which is the limit of his seeing through the eyes ability) from Urth's non-stealth location. If within 100 feet, then yes into the cavern.
Urth Stormraven
Urth whispers to the non-stealthy scouts, "the fire giant is forcing the trolls to excavate. I wonder what they are looking for. Do you think we could capture that fire giant? Or should we just kill her and try to figure it out ourselves?"
Urth Stormraven
How far is the non-stealthy group from the fire giant?
"We can let the scouts attack from concealment. I'll go with you." Urth replies to Molok and nods to Sohar.
GM Infinity
Lets say you were 30 ft back from them. In my minds eye I was imagining the stealthy on top of a large rock, let me get a map together

So, I forgot about the phantasmal force holding the giant. Ignore that attack, Molok. Troll attack still happens as above. For Giant though, this happens:
