I used to be in Santa Barbara. People always used to comment about how nice the place was. I would imagine I would have liked it more if I actually like the beach. I like California in general. There's basically no humidity or pollen. By which I mean "People tell me these are things. But compared to Georgia, I don't even notice the humidity and the ground is never yellow with pollen, so clearly it's not really a thing."

In regards to health care, that's probably the big thing my mom wishes the US had (she's from England). At the same time, one of my grad school roommates was from Canada and hated the free healthcare because apparently it meant there were always crazy long waits for anything. Which apparently meant her grandfather had to live in pain for at least several months because he needed some surgery that wasn't life threatening.

And I guess Johnny is spending the first 5 days recrafting stuff. Which only leaves 27 days of time killing. :/ Is there anything we can retrain/do that takes time but not money?

I first read "walls" to mean, like, the walls of our compound. Which doesn't sound very fruitful for a wagon. But yeah, Johnny would be down for exploring our side of the wall more. Regular wood won't do... no magic in it. You need the builder compound to create the magical wood for the compounds. Liisa was told that by her gem, but I think she either missed it or misunderstood it.

@mdt: Would Lina/Daichi be able to train/meditate while on the road? If not, would we be able to fast-forward over exploration? Basically, I think we're interested in exploring this side of the wall while Lina and Daichi do their thing but don't want to exclude them if it involves lots of IC posting of stuff.

You can fast forward over exploration. You're smart enough to avoid the big herbivores, or powerful enough to kill the ones you can't at this point.

I feel like our armor protects us when we go through the wall, so maybe putting the gem in our armor would protect it as well (as it did Seth when we brought him through). On the other hand, if I'm wrong, it sounds like a fast way to kill ourselves.

You're killing me, Kitty! We don't want to go to a place and then go 'we're going this way!' and then all of a sudden 36 frost wolf dogs of doom going all 'hurr hurr hurr, spleen.'

From my understanding, the Shrine is the easiest direction to move from, as they've had decidedly less opportunities to shore up defenses near that space; they didn't have a reason to do so. But that doesn't mean they haven't amassed a large crowd there to make that option unattractive.

IF the spell says that the shrine is clear, then I vote Shrine then south, once again avoiding roads unless someone suggests otherwise. Otherwise, through the wall we go!

Also, I don't have edit access on the local area map. :)

Maybe if I go Mass Effect 3 on you and only give you 3 options it will help.

If you choose Purple, all organic life dies.

If you chose Blue, all non-organic life dies.

If you choose Brown, all organic and non-organic life dies.
