Myth-weavers is down, I can't get to mine either.

Neri Voler |

I don't have improved sunder. :P Neri craycray.

mdt |

There were 2-3 more children, and 2-3 more adults who went inside buildings. There were cries of pain from the buildings as well though, so it's entirely possible more will be coming out soon.

Neri Voler |

It's only a TPK if people stand and fight :P. Neri's buttons keep getting pushed pretty hard... and after a round or two of trying to break the staff, he'll be ready to go if no one else is helping.

Neri Voler |

You say that. But I don't like my characters dying. :P

Luna Rook |

How tall is the building the staff came out of, could I run on top of it?
also is the blue icon small for a reason or just glitched out?

mdt |

Posting this in all my games.
I'll be travelling this week, Monday through Wednesday, and I likely won't be able to post as much as I usually do. I should be back to normal posting by the end of the week.
@Luna : Smaller icon is a child.

Luna Rook |

YOU MEAN A TARGET!?
Alright no problem have fun on your trip.

Neri Voler |

Luna's Braindemon: "Well, sure, I suppose you could steal a child. But it's terribly noticable, and they make a lot of noise, and why would you even want one?"

I get to the airport at 4:30 Wednesday for my 6:30 flight.
United tries to get by cheap and puts just enough gas in the jet to make it to destination. They screw up, have to turn around once they make it to the strip, and then take 2.5 hours to fuel up again and take off.
The plane lands at 8:30 (this is the plane coming to where I am). They swear they will have us out of there in 10 minutes.
At 9:15 we take off. We land at 10:45. My connecting flight is at 10:55, and is in another terminal. I run to the train that connects terminals. I get to the gate at 10:58. They didn't hold my plane, it's against policy.
It takes me 45 minutes of arguing with them but they won't give me a hotel, because it was the weather, not them putting too little fuel or refusing ot hold my flight for 3 minutes. BS.
I get to the hotel about 1:30 (actually in the hotel room that is). I'm so afraid I'll sleep through the alarm at this point, that I can't sleep. So I spend 4 hours resting on the bed watching tv before going back to the airport for a 7:25 flight.
The 7:25 flight leaves the gate at 7:45. We take off at 8:30. I get to my airport at 9:20. It then takes me another hour to get my luggage (they got it on the plane that took off without me the night before!), and finally get my car and head off home. I run into traffic, and it's 11:30 by the time I actually get into my house.
I then promptly fall asleep in front of the computer trying to work after having had no sleep for 36 hours.
So yeah, sorry for not posting yesterday. I'll get posts up today sometime.

'Kong' Groder |

Wow.
Take your time. Bad trip.

Neri Voler |

Hm. I'd always thought it was a law that they had to provide things like that. Looking it up some put it in their contracts, but here in the US, as usual, corporations have more rights than people. :P Sorry to hear about the bad time.

Neri Voler |

Venerable is actually -6 to strength, Dex, and constitution. It's +3 to int/wis/cha. So Neri currently has a con of 2. Which means he has a max hp of 13, his AC drops to 18/11/17. He is now carrying a heavy load, assuming he wasn't carrying anything beforehand.

Jacob Friedrich Schönherr |

That's precisely why I avoid flying, especially with connecting flights.

Neri Voler |

Good. After looking up carrying capacities, Neri's 5 strength (after -6) put him at 50 max cap. Just the two sets of armor he's carrying put him beyond that, and there was no reasonable way to get out of it all. So... second round coup de grace was incoming.
Temp stats: 19/19 hp
AC/Touch/Flat 19/12/17 Fort/Ref/Will 0/3/6 Init +2
Tohit: -1, Damage -1.
Also, drinking a potion, even an alchemical spell-infused potion, provokes an attack of opportunity.

mdt |

Yes, I know it provokes. Unless you can reduce it to a swift action. Swift actions don't, as a general rule, provoke. Or you have a class ability that let's you not provoke.
Did I miss one? Sterling's was drank after he moved, and he got attacked for the move provoke.

Neri Voler |

Ah. I thought he drank the potion and then moved to help defend against AoOs.

Neri Voler |

I understood rerolling initiative when you had 'phases' planned. Change in scenery means a change in fight. I don't understand rerolling initiative every round of a fight. Why is that?

mdt |

I usually roll initiative each round. Makes things more organic. If everyone has an issue with it, I can switch to once per combat (although if I do, I'll be enforcing the 'I delay' mechanics, which means if you delay till the end of the round, you're initiative is reset to 1).

Neri Voler |

It's fine. It just really -sucks- to get hit by a save-or-die ability (or the equivalent thereof) be left barely hanging, and then wait two full rounds before you can go. It's also not at all organic to me. Everything the group does takes around 6 seconds. To go from 'I have a handle of the battle' to 'I have no idea what's happening, I'm dead.' doesn't feel organic. Overall though, yeah. I can see it making sense in a moment to moment thing.

Sterling "lumpy" Lumpkin |

Maybe it's not having a coordinated attack plan instead of sucking the team into a tpk that sucks more.
The change in intiative from round to round means I'll just have to adjust tactics.

Neri Voler |

'Sucked in'? :P You and I -both- know your character wouldn't have followed Neri into combat if it weren't the only -rational- choice we had available. You didn't get sucked into a TPK, you went into a fight you knew you had to win.

Sterling "lumpy" Lumpkin |

I was just hoping Neri (the character) would learn the right lesson from this. I'm guessing not. Good to know

Neri Voler |

I'd have to know the lesson OOC to be able to tell him :)
Like I've said, though. IC actions. I hate them and love them at the same time. There's nothing Neri would have done different in that.

Sterling "lumpy" Lumpkin |

I think everyone moved this round right? are we waiting for someones action?

Luna Rook |

With staff guy prone and getting all messed up would it be possible for me to take the staff without a disarm? or should i just smack him, I'm down for either.

Jacob Friedrich Schönherr |

I think everyone moved this round right? are we waiting for someones action?
Actions? You mean pacifist inactions? :)

Jacob Friedrich Schönherr |

Nope, being prone doesn't mean helpless. You'd still need to do a disarm.
And a pin, yes?

'Kong' Groder |

Kong can help with that.

Neri Voler |

Also, Spellcraft 23 wasn't enough to see if Neri could figure out what he was hit with as the priest was casting it at him?

Sterling "lumpy" Lumpkin |

We're about to hit 1000 posts :) Do we get a prize? Maybe a coupon for 10% off a pizza

Neri Voler |

Since bestow curse is permanent until removed via magic, should I treat all of the changes as permanent on Neri's sheet in terms of learning skills, saving throws, and the like?
As an aside... Neri has the worst luck with d4s.

Sterling "lumpy" Lumpkin |

Party Loot:
Mithral chain armor (Magic)
Ring (Magic)
Necklace (Value?)
Two stud earings(Magic)
Gold (15)
Silver (12)
Copper(20)

Neri Voler |

Character's stats have been updated once again. You monster. :)
Neri is swapping his usual loadout tomorrow morning, no longer carrying burning hands, and instead carrying True Strike. Sterling's got AoE down.

Jacob Friedrich Schönherr |

Apologies, I thought I had posted - guess it didn't go through.
So much meanness in this party!

Neri Voler |

Hey, Harry, I'm trying to find where that 'cmb reduced by damage taken' thing you said comes from. I've never seen it, and have never applied it in my games. Granted, most people don't use the combat maneuvers without the feat.

Harry Hudson |

from the PRD:
Performing a Combat Maneuver
When performing a combat maneuver, you must use an action appropriate to the maneuver you are attempting to perform. While many combat maneuvers can be performed as part of an attack action, full-attack action, or attack of opportunity (in place of a melee attack), others require a specific action. Unless otherwise noted, performing a combat maneuver provokes an attack of opportunity from the target of the maneuver. If you are hit by the target, you take the damage normally and apply that amount as a penalty to the attack roll to perform the maneuver. If your target is immobilized, unconscious, or otherwise incapacitated, your maneuver automatically succeeds (treat as if you rolled a natural 20 on the attack roll). If your target is stunned, you receive a +4 bonus on your attack roll to perform a combat maneuver against it.
