A little under a year ago I made this thread: http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2qquq?Pooka-Familiar-and-UMD#1
Now that the Familiar Folio has come out I would like to reopen my petition to PFS leadership.
I believe the Pooka should be allowed to use magic devices because the base creature has the skill to do so. The Familiar Folio seems to agree with me. On page 5 in the Familiar Tactics side box under Device Guru the Faery Dragon, Lyrakien, and Pooka are listed as some recommended choices.
I believe that the intent for the Pokka to Use Magic Device to assist its caster is very clear in this case.

The trouble with this: there are already a lot of "two-character" options in PFS. Druids, cavaliers, rangers, hunters, wizards, witches, arcane-bloodline sorcerers, and a bunch of ACG archetypes that gives the Hunter's AC to other classes.
While they are cool for the player, they can slow the game down. They also take the spotlight off of the Pathfinder and onto their pet in many cases. Even worse, they work against action economy. The bad guys are already outnumbered by 50% on average; allowing more ways for players to cast 2 spells in the first round is not (IMO) in the best interests of the game.
Maybe the genie is already out of the bottle, but making it worse is not going to make it better.

GM lamplighter,
If PFS leadership decides that allowing some familiars to UMD is too powerful then I would agree that this petition is pointless. But that would be a discussion for another thread. Given that PFS has familiars that can use UMD I think the looks should be able to as a familiar too. It simply does not make sense for a creature that had UMD on its start block and which is specifically called out in a companion to use UMD not to be able to in PFD when imps and mephits can UMD.

Side question:
What's the current rule on Familiars and UMD in PFS? Are there certain familiars that are allowed to UMD or are none currently allowed?
I'm wondering because there's someone in my area (that I've only GMed for a couple of times) that has an Improved Familiar that's been using wands.
I believe the FAQ or additional resources has the list of facilitates that can use wands

My argument is that it should be able to use wands and other magic devices. How is it being on the stat block not in favor of that?
What has changed is that we now have a book that specifically says that the pooka can activate magic items.
Didn't the Bestiary 4 say that as well? (I haven't looked - you didn't link it - but you said it did in your other post).
If so, the logic from John's post in your last thread still applies.

I don't hate the book in front of me right now to check the slightly different semantics of the two. But even so this would be the second time that paizo had published something starting that the pooka can use wands. If it is still unclear after being published in two different places that the pooka can use magic device, then I don't know what could be some to make it more clear.

Saw this thread and started looking at the Pooka a little closer. She's actually not bad at all! Fast healing, good fly speed, self-invis at will, minor image 3/day, and you never need to be sober if you don't want to be. All that AND opposable thumbs. Not a bad mix at all.
Are her item slots in PFS determined as if she were a rabbit or a humanoid?

Well as you said it can use a dagger, so it should be able to use a wand and other weapons.
An arbiter comes with a dagger, hands, spell like abilities at caster level 12, and decently high charisma - yet they have ruled it cannot use UMD to use wands.
I see no reason why a pooka could - if the arbiter could not.
