Thrown Dagger Specialist - Class Opinions?

Advice

For my next PFS character I am planning on creating a character who carries 20-30 daggers on him (visibly) and focuses on throwing them (with also stabbing occasionally). I just need help deciding on which class to use.

I'm torn between Flying Blade Swashbuckler and Slayer using the Thrown Weapon Style with no archetype in particular decided (possibly the Archery Style since there is really nothing in Thrown Weapon Style I don't want the pre-reqs for).

I've weighed some pros and cons for each class (including the flavour each class brings role-play wise) but I was wondering if other people would like to help by providing some input on which class they would choose and why.

Stats would probably be something like 14/17(+2)/12/12/10/8 for the Slayer or 14/17(+2)/12/8/10/12 for the Swashbuckler (but I'm open to suggestions here too).

Disclaimer: Yes, I realize thrown weapons are not at all an optimized fighting style but I'd really like to try to optimize it the best I can.

I'd go with Swashbuckler, because that Precise Strike will be crucial to keeping your damage up. I'd also highly recommend a race with a racial SLA, so you can qualify for Arcane Strike to bypass DR/magic and hit incorporeals. Wayang would be good (Dex bonus, small size with no Str penalty), or Nagaji, if you're OK with higher Strength and lower Dex. An elf with the Envoy alternate racial trait would work well also.

You could also look at the Slayer Vanguard archetype, and take the new ranged teamwork feat that allows you not to worry about the cover issues due to allies. Also you get half your class level to intiative and eventually to always go in the surprise round.

I would recommend human.

Talk with your GM about making use of Slashing Grace with daggers. My RAW it only works with One Handed weapons but most people are of the opinion it should qualify for light weapons as well.

Scarab Sages

You'll want the Far Strike Monk for this. It's the Zen Archer for thrown weapons, and allows you to Ki strike with monk unarmed damage at range early.

Precise Strike Deed will out-damage Studied Target by a lot, so you're honestly better off going flying blade than slayer.

I have a very similar character in PFS right now:

Monk 1: Dazzling Display, [Unfolding Wind Rush]
Monk 2: [Unfolding Wind Strike], [Toughness], +1 Str
Fighter 1: Rapid Shot, [Shatter Defenses]
Fighter 2: [Improved Critical: Dagger]
Fighter 3: Double Slice
Fighter 4: [Weapon Specialization: Dagger], +1 Wis

(21000) +3 Adamantine Dagger
(8500) +1 Cruel Mithral Dagger

(8000) Pale Blue Ioun Stone (+2 dex)
(8000) Deep Red Ioun Stone (+2 str)
(4000) +2 Mithral Chain Shirt
Total: 109k

I have always wanted to play a mobile dagger throwing Sczarni character and with Unfolding Wind Rush it is now somewhat more viable than before. The prereqs for Unfolding Wind Rush are steep so we bypass them with a MoMS dip. In combat expect to move around with Unfolding Wind Rush looking for a flank. When such an opportunity arises, enter melee for a round to activate shatter defences (via enforcer + blade of mercy). From there you can use Unfolding Wind Rush to leave melee (the enemy is flatfooted to you so it probably can't AOO you) and you can keep sneak attacking that enemy with shatter defenses.

My feedback: ditch daggers in favor of chakram. D8 damage and 30' range increment, but you can still stab.

My other feedback: rather than going Dex focused, just focus on getting a Belt of Mighty Hurling. Instead of Archery, get the TWF Combat Style, which will allow you to melee just as much as throw. As long as you have Quick Draw, you can use the TWF feats to get the additional throws. If you go this route, the daggers are arguably better than the chakram as the latter is not a light weapon and has an intrinsic penalty on melee attacks, as well. Carry both.

I think the slayer is the superior choice.

You probably want the trait River Rat no matter what class you choose.

Fighter (Weapon Master), Rogue (Knife Master), Ranger (Guide), Barbarian (Hurler), Magus (Myrmidarch) and Bloodrager could also be used to good effect.

Here's a fun one I've started playing.

Daring Champion Cavalier.

At first level take Volley Fire as your Tactician feat. You are now handing out up to +4 to hit to all your allies. Oh, and you don't provide cover to each other.

Take Point Blank and Precise Shot at level one to toss those daggers into combat.

Quick draw at third, and then Deadly Aim at fifth.

At sixth level, retrain your tactician feat to Target of Opportunity. Now, everyone in the party is throwing out shots if they're ready, it's crazy.

I love showing up to PFS and handing out the teamwork feat. Everyone gets excited.

If you're set on going with daggers, look at going with a small race.

This way, you can make all your masterwork daggers out of mithral with no extra cost.

Nice little find there. :)

Shurikens count as ammo, so no QuickDraw needed there.

Play as a two-weapon fighting, rapid shotting warpriest and take close quarters combat (may not be the actual name, but lets you throw into melee).

Your damage will scale nicely and with the fervor class ability you can swift cast buff spells. Warpriest as a class has gone on me greatly since the ACG's release. I suggest the class to almost everyone.
