I've been using generic Dex to damage in my campaigns with zero issues for years. My players love the variety in builds they can explore, and strength guys still push out far more damage. Slashing Grace is fine...
How does you using a houserule change the issues with Slashing Grace? Whoever threw that together with all the arbitrary restrictions on it is a sadist who revels in the disappointment and misery of tabletop RPG players.

Oh, I thought you were one of those mad at Slashing Grace for allowing Dex to damage. I'm not entirely sure about the restrictions. Seems like a really easy feat to make. But I guess my tabletop RPG players would not be a part of this sadists revels, as they are neither miserable nor disappointed at my table =)

If you are interested look up some of the topics about it for more thorough talks of the problems. Main issues are that it only works with one handed slashing weapons, so not on things like daggers, kukris, or even rapiers, and then it has a bleh prerequisite with Weapon Focus.

Going back and trying to formulate the new Community Guidelines was a pretty involved process (especially pilfering through the number of Website Feedback threads that cropped up over the last year or so). "Don't be a jerk" worked pretty OK when our community was smaller, but it's also subjective and has caused some issues with our ability to moderate posts. The new guidelines serve to give more transparency behind these decisions, and as our community continues to welcome more and more new people, we need to be able to adjust accordingly. Moderation is an imperfect "science" and this line may come back if we need it to.

But...but... without a specific rule telling me to not be a jerk I won't know not to be a jerk.

I wish my ACG would arrive so I could finally figure out what all this slashing grace fuss is about, but alas european retail's got, a week to go.
The PDF is only 10$ and even less euros.

That means you must be a horrible cheating <member of a group of players who play the game differently than me>! How dare you!

It sort of gives dex to damage but really only works for swashbucklers. Now for the last couple of weeks everybody is like I want dex to damage without being a swashbuckler.
Still way better dan caustic slur but a bit disapointing to a lot of players who wanted the feat, not the class. (I really like the class, kobold melee Ftw)Haven't got mine either, Holland is always late with releases.

And I would buy it had I a credit card. As a matter of fact I'd have preordered the physical copy from paizo.

It was nice to have a pithy axiom at the bottom of the screen. Stands out and reminds posters (not least of which myself) to step back for a moment if things get heated. "Help us keep the messageboards a fun and friendly place" is the kind of text folks tend to just gloss over.
But I see your point. If you're going for more of a "you've been moderated, this is why"-type approach, it's good to have specific guidelines. But I'd still keep it there. : )

FINE I'LL JUST HOUSE RULE IT BACK

In the interests of backwards compatibility (yes, yes, I've seen the drive towards message boards unchained, bear with me...), there are a number of moderator comments scattered around the boards that read along the lines of "don't forget the most important rule", which are now unclear to new members.
I suggest that the most important rule be reinstated in some form to allow an easier transition from the previous edition of the boards to the current one: we wouldn't want edition wars over something like this.
