[The Harrowing] recruiting one replacement character.

Recruitment

Gameplay thread.

I'm guessing we're about halfway through. PCs are 9th level. 20-pt buy, roll for HP past level 1. Core and APG are the allowed source material.

Group currently consists of a wizard, an oracle, and a barbarian; probably none of us optimized. We just lost a zen archer, so we could use a replacement damage dealer. We also tend to try peaceful resolutions before combat, so a more effective face would be useful.

Posting frequency is about 1 per 1-2 days. Recruitment would likely be open through the weekend, maybe longer (or shorter) depending on the number of applicants.

This could be fun, I have an idea for an inquisitor of Erastil who acts as a diplomat and defender, a negotiator and redeemer of folks. Conversion inquisition would mean I'm a passable face and the excess skill points would give me enough to fill in any gaps.
I would be absolutely thrilled to play with the

Redemption Inquisition:

Redemption Inquisition

Source Faiths and Philosophies pg. 23 (Amazon)
Deities N/A

Granted Powers: Your deity inspires you with hope that wayward members of your faith can be brought back into the fold.

Granted Powers: You reach out to your misguided fellows and give them every chance to turn back from conflict with the true faith, even if your differences come to violence.

Patient Sensibility (Su): You gain a +2 bonus on Diplomacy, Perception, and Sense Motive checks.

Redeemer's Mercy (Su): At 4th level, any weapon you wield gains the merciful magic weapon special ability. The weapon immediately reverts to its original abilities when you cease to wield it.

Second Chance (Sp): At 8th level, you can give an enemy a second chance to correct the error of its ways. Once per day as a standard action, you can cast atonement as a spell-like ability, targeting a creature that has violated the tenets of a religion you both share or that freely desires to convert to your alignment. If costly material components are required for the atonement, you may choose to accept a permanent negative level as a sacrifice in place of those components. The target of this effect also receives the benefits of a cure serious wounds spell as part of the effects of the atonement.

as it fits the concept I have in mind better, but I can roll conversion if Redemption is too far from the sources you find comfortable.

Senor DM here with a few remarks:

  • They are level 10, though you can only buy magical gear for the level 8 cap.
  • I allow the CRB and the APG. Anything else is a bit much, since I want to know everything that *can* happen in the game. Might allow something small if it fits perfectly, but there will be some DM convincing to be done.
  • Posting frequency should be daily, but it currently is has fallen back to once per two days. I hope to up this frequency soon ;)
  • Background should be Brevoy/Stolen Lands-esque.

  • I am pleased to present Jacen Torn, 9th level half-elven bard (arcane duelist). I think he would fit nicely in your group. I actively post as seen from my other aliases. I can bump him to 10th level with your permission and used average HP but will roll if selected.

Small errata: it was a level 9 character with level 7 magical gear/loot in his possession.

Jacen sounds like a lot of fun to have. As far as I'm concerned, read up (I will assume you know what happened before, see below) and join the group.
I will handwave that you were there from the beginning, since in this story there really is no other way.

    More applicants?

@Rickmeister Still have interest, left you a PM with a few more questions. Let me know if the idea is workable or if I should find a different way to into the concept.

I'd like to submit this character. I made him for another game so I'd swap out the campaign trait and level him up to 9th if chosen. I'd be going for arcane archer and I'd put ranks in social skills

    Dark Archive

It has taken you a year to get half way through a 32 page module?

whoa, thats way to slow for me. I suppose I will bow out

    More applicants?

If you're still accepting applicants, I would like to apply.

    HP: 8d10 + 27 + 10 ⇒ (1, 7, 7, 3, 9, 8, 4, 8) + 27 + 10 = 84

I still need to make an animal companion, will be either badger or small cat.

    Thanks for the consideration.
