Recruiting for Rise of the Runlords Anniversary Edition

Recruitment

The game is already in progress. I am looking for 5th player that can be reliable. We play on roll.net which is a virtual table top every Monday from 900PM until 1AM EST. We try to be there by 845 to make sure we start by 9. Roll.net is very easy to learn and use, and it is constantly improving.

The next game is tomorrow so the chances of making it are small, but the party is currently level 5 with 4 players.

We have a:
Master Summoner(LE)

Cleric

Dwarven Fighter

Sorcerer

They are optimized pretty well.

This is the GM's campaign guide that includes character creation rules and game rules.
It is accurate except for a few things.
As previously stated we are currently at level 5.
Instead of rolling you may take the average roll for hit points. Once you make your decision you can not change back to the other method.

d12=7
d10=6
d8=5
d6=4

You will also start with 5000 gp. No more than 33% of that can be spent on any one item.

Background stories are not mandatory, but they will help if I am on the fence about who to let in. I also roll the dice out in the open, and there is a very real possibility that your character might die. No far nobody has died yet though. :)

bump

It looks like you are badly in need of a skill monkey, seeing as how all your characters have 2+int skills. I would be very interested in playing this character. Let me know if you are interested and I'll write a proper backstory.

i'm interested would you allow a ninja i have one made for a different game and just needs some minor adjustments to fit.

Have a female dwarven oracle of stone who rolls ridiculous high intimidates and diplomatic checks. my rise of the landlords is dead after dm up and disappears.

I will shoot PM's to both of you.

There have been two changes.

You will start at level 6, and with 10000 gp. No more than 33% can be spent on any one item.

Wait. um, this is on another site, right? I use my mobile phone to Pbp. might have to withdraw. dang.

I can steal a spot if you need one, I can fill any role.

I have always wanted to play runelords, would you accept an android Alchemist?

Also are you willing to bend those GP rules at all? 33% of 10k is 3300 and +2 stat items are 4000...

Actually, forget Alchemist. I thought they got Trapfinding and thus could fill that role, since you have nobody else doing it. I still want to play an Android, because I must learn to understand the strange hu-man emotion called "love". So maybe a Sage Seeker Tattooed Sorcerer (yes, three archetypes, IT'S CRAZY) to cover that role, 'cause I'm not really a fan of Rogue in PF or... I'm gonna have to look at prestige classes.

Looking at that Android race.. Holy overpowered races batman! Sure, you lose morale bonuses, but when's the last time you saw a morale bonus to CL or Save DC, aka, what a caster would care about.

But, I'm not the DM, so, suppose it's up to him. But yikes..

Some extra information about our characters:

The Master Summoner is our face (and a very good face he is) and his Eidolon disarms the traps.
The Cleric (me) is focused on debuffing with some buffing and, for anyone who stands next to me, AC boosting (Bodyguard).
The Dwarven Fighter is of the two-weapon variety.
The Sorcerer is the knowledge skill monkey. He the intelligence based variety of sorcerer.

I have a reasonably high perception skill and due to the Eidolon we don't need anyone with Trapfinding. The only trap that we cannot 'disarm' is a magical one. But we have summons and dispel magic to deal with those traps. :)

About the Virtual Tabletop: We play on Roll20.net which is free except for advanced options such as Dynamic Lighting and Mobile support (Android and Apple devices).

The browsers that work with Roll20 are primarily Chrome and Firefox. IE can be used with with chrome plugins (unless you are on Windows 8).

While Roll20 has video/voice support we use Skype currently since it is better than the native video/voice that Roll20 has. Note: We only use voice (we do not use video).

And yes, I agree that Androids are a bit overpowered. In a game I GM a player wanted to play an android so I removed a couple abilities (Surge and Low-light vision).

I'd be interested, for sure. I'd be interested in playing a Kellid barbarian who uses a throwing spiked shield. Kind of a mix between Conan and Captain America. A sword and board (with nails stuck in it!) barbarian. I am running a RoTL game on maptools/skype currently, if that's a problem.

Recruitment is open again.

The OP still applies except for these changes. The party is level 7, and you start with 18500 gold pieces.

I'd be game. What classes do you have atm? Still the same?

I have a bard or evangelist I can level up if needed, or I can fill another role.

Edit: Actually, you answered that question lol. Let me level up one of them and Ill post them here.

1d8 ⇒ 6
1d8 ⇒ 1
1d8 ⇒ 8
1d8 ⇒ 3
1d8 ⇒ 7
1d8 ⇒ 6

Hp Rolls.

If anyone is interested send me a PM.

We have one volunteer. Can we get one more?

Update: The party is level 8 now.

I'll show interest as an Evil Fighter.

Opinion?

Silver Crusade

Interest has been shown

Liberty's Edge

I sent a PM, now just waiting....

Recruitment is closed. Sorry everyone I should have posted that a few days ago..

Recruitment is back open but due to a backlog of players, it is only for those who inboxed me last time I had the recruitment open. If nobody replies by Monday, I might reopen it for everyone.

I will also be inboxing those that inboxed me, but if you see this before I inbox you, don't be shy.

PS:I don't fudge too much to save characters, but so far nobody has died yet. I know some people hate character death so this is just a reminder.

Recruitment is open again. I need 1 player. There is no specific need so make what you want

You will be level 9 with 58000 GP to spend.

Definitely interested. I'm new here, but I've playing on rolld20 for a while. Just curious, what exactly does the party need at the moment? Looking over your old posts, it seems that most every basis is covered. I'd like to play a wizard, but that might be a bit redundant with two arcane casters in the group already.

EDIT: After some thought, I think I would rather play a druid. The group seems pretty solid all-around, but I think another dedicated melee type could be useful as well as a backup healer. Will be taking average with the hit points.

I'd also be interested. Been wanting to try a roll20 game lately. Would like to be a dwarf crossbow-using ranger.

Oddly, I have a cool 9th level character I never got to use. She needs a bit of polishing, but she's a pretty cool Tian-Da witch/monk. I'll finish her up today.

EDIT: Wooops, just saw that this is a live game, which I can't commit to. Oh, well. Enjoy, all!

Once again I need a player. Real life is not my friend.

We have a:
monk/alchemist

Druid

Witch(hedge witch)

Sorcerer

What we don't have is anyone that is good with diplomacy, or a who can do the talking for the party at all really.

Starting level would be 10 with 82000 gp...

Now for the interesting part:

The current situation:

Sometime in the next few weeks my schedule at work may be changed, and if I have to work nights it will most likely end the game. Otherwise I will GM until completion so if you have ready made 10th level character this is a chance to use it. This is not me saying nobody is disallowed from making a new 10th level character. I just don't want anyone to be surprised if things don't go in my favor in real life. If you have any questions PM me.

This looks interesting. I was sent over here by Dream Lord, and I did like what little I played of RotRL.

It looks like you guys are missing a good ol' fashioned beatstick. I do have an idea for a tank-y Barbarian (Invulnerable Rager). Only real possible wrinkle: He's an Orc, hope that's okay. He's kinda built around taking the "Deathless" line. CG, fancies himself a bit of a linguist and a gentleman. Int 8, but with Linguistics as a class skill through a trait. Cha 5 so his social graces are effectively nonexistent, and he's scarred all over, but he likes to speak properly in good company (he lapses into more colloquial speak in battle).

Friendly, but enjoys smashing his enemies, and has a tendency to take blows (fairly low AC, but hopefully high HP and the ability to just keep on chugging unhindered below 0 HP).

I'll have something more concrete (exact Feats and etc. later). For now I have a character sheet with a "planned" build out to 10 which can be bumped up pretty easily found here: Crokus. Still 20 PB, but I don't have the player's guide on hand to pick traits from it, so I'll do that later too. Obviously, gear is a bit behind.

Orc's are fine. Just be sure to shore up any weak will saves. That is just advice from your friendly GM. :)

I've got 12 Wis and Superstition, hopefully it'll tide me over until I can snag Iron Will, eh?

Thanks for the quick heads up/go ahead, I'll work on it a bit and have a completed one soon.

Okay, think I've got most of it. Got a bit of leftover gold, need to pick 8 languages, re-do some calculations and I'm waffling over one of the Rage Powers, but this is close to final.

Edit: I ran a bit o' math and got some advice from somebody and determined the Deathless Line doesn't work as well with Barb as Fighter (the original idea it spawned from), so I'ma reallocate some Feats.

Crokus

I was unable to find the Campaign Traits for RotRL, what are they exactly?

Also, seems I need to roll HP. SO it was max HP + 4 + Con 1st level, rolled the rest?

So that's

1d12 ⇒ 6
1d12 ⇒ 5
1d12 ⇒ 8
1d12 ⇒ 1
1d12 ⇒ 4
1d12 ⇒ 2
1d12 ⇒ 4
1d12 ⇒ 5
1d12 ⇒ 11

For a total of 112 (With the 18 Con and Favored Class Bonus).

Yowch that 1 and 2 hurt. But that's the luck o' the dice.

Okay so I lied, it wasn't close to final. But I've rearranged Feats and Rage Powers based on some other player's input and my thinking that the other Feats were largely ineffective, some other's advice (also steering me towards a neat item and a weapon property I wouldn't have otherwise known about), and the lulzy thought of my Orc Barbarian being the main trap dismantler of the group (Trap Wrecker + Spell Sunder + Strength Surge = Yes).

So he's now a beatstick, a linguist, and a "Rogue". An Orc of many talents. Sounds like fun to me.

Is this still open for another player?

Just realized the character sheet was locked, sorry. I rectified that so those with the link can view it now, if you want to audit it.

Quick highlights of some stuff:

Quick Backstory Elements:
He's a Male CG Orc Barbarian (Invulnerable Rager). 7 ft. 200 lbs of muscle, scarred all over (was a mercenary from a young age. Had the foolish habit of allowing enemies to take a free hit in his youth, hence the scars). Has picked up a bunch of languages in his travels both as a mercenary and a solo adventurer and a facade of gentlemanly mannerisms among friends and company.

His 5 Cha effectively means he has no notion of proper manners, and is often unaware when he has insulted someone. He speaks the truth even when it would be rude to others, though not when it would be harmful to him or his friends (he's smart and wise enough to now that much).

He's friendly and open, and forgiving of those who react unfavorably to his race, knowing that their reticence is justified by his more savage and cruel brethren.

However, he does have a strong sense of justice, even when said justice goes directly contrary to the law.

Feats:

1.) Power Attack
3.) Trap Wrecker
5.)Extra Rage Power (Witch Hunter)
7.) Extra Rage Power (Spell Sunder)
9.) Improved Sunder

Rage Powers:

2.) Superstition
4.) Lesser Beast Totem
5.) Witch Hunter
6.) Beast Totem
7.) Spell Sunder
8.) Strength Surge
10.) Greater Beast Totem

Gear:

+2 Furious Courageous Earthbreaker (+4 total enhancement)
+3 Breastplate
+3 Cloak of Resistances
Bag of Holding (Type 2)
Ring of Protection +1
Amulet of Natural Armor +1
+2 Belt of Physical Might (Str and Con)
Headband of Havoc

I may get rid of the Bag of Holding though because I'm not carrying much in it and don't really plan to, especially with my carrying capacity so high.

While I also use a google character sheet for Dove and all the fine details of her skills, Watcher has us use Mythweavers sheets for simplicity's sake. They're a good way to keep track of all your abilities and powers during our big epic battles.

Ah. I'll migrate over to that one tomorrow.

Check your inbox about 30 minutes from now.

Edit: Rynjin check your inbox also in about 30 minutes.

Made the Mythweavers sheet.

Only thing not on there is the other items, which I'll add later.

Silver Crusade

Sup Rynjin, I'm the Alch/Monk

Hey! Seems I've accidentally stumbled onto a game with some people I was hoping to play with some day. =)

Though the fact that the Monk slot was already filled disappointed me slightly. ;)

Just realized nobody ever sent me the Roll20 link.

Ah, gear prices then.

Spoiler:

+2 Furious Courageous Earthbreaker (32k)
+3 Breastplate (18k)
+3 Cloak of Resistances (9k)
Ring of Protection +1 (2k)
Amulet of Natural Armor +1 (2k)
+2 Belt of Physical Might (10k)
Headband of Havoc (8k)
Pathfinder's Kit (12 gp)

Total: 82k, 12 gp

Is it okay I'm 12 gp over? I could drop something else for later if no.
