Love the work that Gary and team are doing, but I have an off-topic question about something Joana alluded to earlier - as a DM, should I be able to change status of participants in my games? I only have one, but there are a couple of players that dropped out and I wasn't aware I could manually mark them as 'previous' players.
How do I do that? (Sorry for the hijack)

Go to your Campaign Info tab, click on Edit This Campaign on the right side of the screen. Scroll down, and you'll have a list of Players and another of Characters; there are checkboxes to mark them as Active. Just clear those boxes for the players who are no longer in the campaign.

What happens in this scenario: user has an item in their wishlist and later purchases it. Does it stay in their wishlist? If so, what if someone tries to gift it to them?
Also, personally I like having the lists all on one page as it makes searching through them easier. But if it's performance reasons, hey, you're the Lord of All Code :)

![]() |

I don't remember the details of how items get removed from wishlists if you purchase it yourself. I know that if someone purchases it for you from your wishlist we mark off however many were purchased. I guess with the holidays coming up it might not be bad to take another look at that code....
Ease of searching is one of the reasons I've not just gone ahead and done paging for long lists. If we do I think I might add a "show all" control.

Cheapy |

Ah, I see. Whenever I'm gifting someone something, I'm always worried that they already have it if it's on their wishlist. I know that my wishlist is way out of date, and it's entirely possible I own some of those things. My main worry is that others are in the same situation as I.
Checking it now, it looks like I already have the Crucible of Chaos in my downloads history, but it's still in my Wishlist. That may be due to it having two formats: Print/PDF and PDF. I can see a case for how it should still be there, since I may want to get the print version in the future. But at the same time, if someone looks at my wishlist and sees it, they won't know that I already have it. Maybe some juju where the user can see it in that case, but people viewing the wishlist can't? I don't know. I suppose a simple "they already own this!" message box when you try to buy it for them would work too :)
A show all button would be wonderful.

Can you provide a link to the thread that you're unable to add to a list?
Here it is again, but it turns out that it isn't relevant. As an experiment, I tried to list this thread to New List -- and it created My List with 0 items.
So then I tried to delete the empty My List, and it appeared to not work. But then I did some stuff that I can't remember, and when I re-opened My Wishlists again it was gone.
So I tried to duplicate it. I tried closing My Wishlists after listing this thread, and then re-opening it; but the thread was still empty. Then I tried deleting it, and once again it appeared to not work. But merely closing My Wishlists and re-opening it didn't get rid of it, so I must've done more the first time (but I don't know what).
Edit: Firefox 16.0.2, if it matters, and I cleared my cache last night. I also turned off my computer this morning, so it was freshly booted when I did all that after getting home from work.
Edit x2: Okay, after a little clicking around, now the deleted My List is gone. Weird.

Issue when searching threads.
Here is me searching the Round 1 of the Magus Playtest for posts by Jason Bulmahn.
When I hit next to see the next few results, this is the resulting page:
It searches Everything for Jason Bulmahn

Im pretty new to the forum, but usualy in forums I get emails when someone writes in a thread. After reading here I see there is a RSS, but is there other ways?
Im mainly thinking about the Online campains where you get a few "under threads" in the main one, and would like to be updated on all new stuff.

We don't do email notifications of new posts here. RSS feeds is the primary way we recommend for keeping track of a lot of different threads. But your campaigns page will show you whenever any of your campaign threads has any new posts.

I don't *think* this issue has been brought up yet, so here it is:
Whenever I favorite a post, suddenly every poster's name on the entire thread disappears, along with the "LIST" link on every post.
Using IE7.
This happens to me too. I didnt know what it was, but some threads have no poster names and others do - it's the favorite trigger for me too. (Thanks for solving that puzzle. :))
EDIT: I think I'm using Internet Explorer 9.

Fredrik |

@Maraxion: I use FeedDemon. It isn't perfect, but it's free and (usually) gets the job done. If you go into the forum view, there are a couple of different RSS icons for whether you want to subscribe to new threads or new posts in that forum. I think that you would need to subscribe to each forum separately, but I couldn't swear to it.

I just determined that this also happens if I open a spoiler.

It didn't for me

Also if you toggle between maximized window and a regular window. Basically anything that causes it to redraw something significantly. Still looking into it. It's a weird bug. And it's an IE7/Compatibility-Mode issue.

Hmmm. Looks like I'm also having trouble with RSS. For example, I'm following a whimsical planet-hopping game, in which this post is currently the most recent one. FeedDemon Lite 4.1 shows... well. The link is to this post, but the preview is of the one before it. That is not normal behavior for this reader.

Issues with the Hide Thread functionality. I think someone posted a video bug report earlier, and it may be the same issue.
But it appears that it hides the thread in the same 'position' on the forum where the button is after a refresh, not where it was on the page the user is clicking the button on.
Not sure if that makes sense...

Chief Cook and Bottlewasher |

Yeah, I just had the same thing happen. I tried to unhide a thread, and instead it hid the thread above it; tried to unhide that one, and it hid the one above that. It was in the PbP forum, so I think people kept bumping new threads to the top while I was clicking.
I've got this too.
The first thread I hide turns grey and is marked 'hidden'
The next one, the first thread hides and the wrong thread becomes hidden.
Having the hidden threads shown doesn't seem to help. And unhiding threads keep missing and hiding other threads.
I think it's confusion due to newly hidden threads higher up though

I don't know if it might be related or not, but for alias I didn't create a profile for I can't make one know. For example, my alias Anthony Dacamara started as a background character and didn't need a stat block. But I've got one for him now and can't make a profile to put it in.
Also, for aliases without profiles, I go directly to the posts made with them for some reason, instead of the profile page.

My "X new" started having fresh issues today. Seems that some of them (apparently at random) are mere text instead of a link. At first I thought it was just ones where the newest post was only a couple of minutes ago and the link would apply soon, but then I noticed a couple where the latest post was last month, and yet the "X new" still wasn't a link.
Yet others work fine, even within the same forum.

I have a weird issue that started with the upgrade.
Using Firefox 16.0.2 (production release) and Stylish to change the "ListingNoNewPosts" class to show light purple background for read threads with no new posts.
** start stylish script **
@namespace url(http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml);
@-moz-document domain("paizo.com") {
.messageboardListingNoNewPosts a:link {
background-color: #F781F3 !important;}}
** end stylish script **
This has worked great and for the most part still works, however in the Shattered Star section, there are three Topics that are wonky.
The Dead Heart of Xin (GM Reference) (Sticky)
Into the Nightmare Rift (GM Reference) (Sticky)
Beyond the Doomsday Door (GM Reference) (Sticky)
When I look at any of them, and then back to the main listing, they "should" have a light purple background because of the "ListingNoNewPosts" class, but they are showing up with the normal white background / Blue text.

A thing with Search:
I was searching my own posts for a phrase, trying to find a thread I'd posted in, and got "Page 1 of 3" results. It wasn't on the first page, so I clicked on next and was taken to search results for that phrase in "Everything" (Products, Messageboards, Blog, Users, PRD) with no way to select only my own posts again, so I couldn't see the other two pages of results from my own posts.

Which forum and/or threads are exhibiting this behavior? A quick spot check of your account doesn't show any problems.
The only forum I can think of specifically is PFS GM Discussion. I'm not sure whether it's happened elsewhere, and that's where I checked by going down the page and mousing over every "X new" and discovering that some were links and some were not.
I'm not sure on individual threads, but I *think* that even some of the threads giving that problem are only doing so intermittently.

I've noticed this exact same behaviour in IE on and off for a long time (certainly predating the most recent site changes). I always figured it might be some background element lying "on top of" the link, making it unclickable (which used to happen with links in the PRD once upon a time).

That's certainly a possibility. Older IE 7 has some weirdness with it's z stacking(among other things) occasionally. If I can get a little more info, I might be able to fix it, but I need more specifics. I couldn't repeat it.

Jiggy wrote:Not seeing it in IE7 either. Do you have a more specific example? Forum/Thread/(x new) where x is defined?I don't know what that means.
I'm using IE7, if that answers your question...?
As of right now, in the PFS GM Discussion forum, the thread titled "4-06 The Green Market" is showing "(3 new)" but it isn't a link.

![]() |

This may or may not be helpful, but in PFRPG General Discussion, the thread titled "Why I Dump Stats" currently shows "(2 new)". On the PFRPG General Discussion page, it functions as a link. In my current messageboard activity sidebar... thingie... it's just text.
Grrr. Not seeing anything. I'll keep an eye out though and try to keep my brain engaged on it.
