Hi Folks. This week I started a thread called What are the benefits of Pathfinder? A teacher wants to know. If any of you have any thoughts or ideas on the matter, please feel free to add to the discussion.

Still awaiting my Itar's Workshop which is well overdue.
That said, I just started building the ridonkoulous 3D map for Portal of the Sacred Rune. Its a spiral dungeon around a gigantic well. and in 2d it was horribad - so yeah I'm trying to do it as a bunch of platform islands descending in height... urgh.

You need the model for the Demonweb Pits from the module Queen of the Demonweb Pits (yeh, I am dating myself back to AD&D here). To the best of my recollection, it uses non-Euclidian geometry. You can be in a passage above another one, walk in a straight line, and end up directly below where you started.
Oh jeebus I still remember that thing... and the subplanar areas they all attached to... the horror...the horror... and the 'random magical effects table'. No one would ever accept a PF module being made like that, the boards would catch fire.

I remember how it was made into a never winter nights campaign.
It was rather good all told.
That would be a somewhat crazy NwN campaign...!
Never played NwN, that came out just as RL was taking over for gaming time.

I feel that pain about Planescape: Torrent. I spent years trying to get it, promptly forgot about it for some time and now that I can play it, it feels too weird. And that coming from a guy that played Fallout 1 & 2.
Misspelled Torment as Torrent. D'uh.
Torment was great fun, played it through like 4 times ;)

Workwise, I have been locked in a room about the european region. As next week we have a room locked with people from all over the world, I expect this to be worse.
My apologies.
As both a heads up and an FYI - I shall be wending my way on holiday starting Monday, and will be out of the country from roughly 2-3 weeks give or take (through to about 10th April).
During such time my online time shall be curtailed from what I'm usually capable - which should engender a reduction in verbosity and potentially some unreliability when it comes to posting rates and speed.
I'm more that happy to be DMPC'd whenever it's appropriate, but am hopefuly that I should be able to keep up with all the PbPs that I'm currently playing in during the time down-under.
Have a cool trip! heading to horribly hot states again?
It's going to be a painful three-way trip -> week in Perth, week in Adelaide and then a few days in Sydney.
Ergh - I thought it was bad doing a month of Bandiana/Holsworthy/Adamstown. That said, my first 'day off' in six weeks is tomorrow.
If you end up with a free arvo in Sydney let me know :)

Yeah that's why I like the icon :)
It are easy to get the apple in the front and they will stick in their mouth happily, but they will screams a lot when it is time for the onion - so use a big apple first to muffle the sound.

Shifty was with us for a while with a great character, but I unfortunately found it hard to manage a speedy all-flying, all-seeing mini-drag. Almost worked, but maybe something more bipedal.
Yeh, the campaign was going great until someone (Voodoo) decided to have the BBEG crit me with a large greataxe. Now, it is more fun because I get to haunt people.

Took 76 damage. Started with 35, finished with -41.
Our bard then wanted to make a Heal check to see if I was alive. My response was that the separation of my legs from my torso should be a good sign that I past the capabilities of Heal or CLW.
Soz bro, not even Auri could have fixed that one.
Doesn't help that your tank is made of crepe paper though to be honest :p

Well, it is sort of one of those flexible sided tanks you use in the wilderness, and that frequently get leaks.

No, and I think that was a problem all along :P
My observations were that the party needed a Healer, and also needed a serious frontliner - the strongest 'fighter type' sits up the back with a bow, and the other is a non-optimised light skirmisher.
They get by staying light and mobile for the most part. Problem was that they tried to lie in ambush and got penned in.
I'd really like to have some aerial dogfights like this at some point. maybe have Auri back as a full-on dragon. ; )
Well that's what Auri was built for, I had envisioned arabiannn niiiiights and flying carpets and djin and stuff.
fer shure. It just takes a while to get there. not every Jahandar, Abadan and Naruz gets a flying carpet!!
