Sunny will crouch and await her turn at sneaking on board the ship.

Hope I am not jumping the gun, let me know if so.
Aoro sends a trio of silver fishes at the grindylows, one each to it's own target.
Magic Missile vs Grindylow 1, 2, and 3: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 21d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 41d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Could I get a little detail on the battlefield as I don't want to target grindylows within the melee parties attack range. Don't want them to swim out if they don't have to.

forgot some people need detail on the battle. It's going to take a while for me to set up. I'll have it set up by the end of tomorrow.

Here you go. I'm using the WormWood to place the Grindlylows. You will defeat the encounter when you scare the grindylows off.

I count 16 enemies in all and one on the upper deck over laps with the main deck, which is basically the same area. So is that right or computer error? Btw I target the nearest ones sense we look to be surrounded, I need a meat shield. xP

Yes, that's right. Hopefully you will deal with just the nine if you don't make too much of a fuss. you can also bring in the crew to help. Otherwise, I'm using Mook rules. I.e. all the Grindylows have 4 hp, and they are either up or they are down.

'Sunny' |

Erk! The linky keeps crashing my computer! (>_<)
Ready to swing steal at Grindly's!

'Sunny' |

*Waves hand* Hey-ya there. Is we have a map? Maybe a different file name won't fritz me computer? Am keen ta' be helpin' out, honest. (^_^)

Dam Roll:2d6 + 2 ⇒ (5, 5) + 2 = 12

Still, I think one Grindly-low gone splat! (^_^)

Yep.
Grindylows attack with their naughty tentacles! This is mook rules now. Everyone can get a hero point if you do Swashbuckling stuff like from a Errol Flynn movie -- and describe the action really well. All of the Grindylows have 4 hp.
5 grindylows attack en masse.
1 gropes Sunny with naughty tentacle moves! tangling tentacles: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
2 attack Tarchinis with their spears: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9, 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14; damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2, damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
1 attacks Torque with groping tentacles! tangling tentacles: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
1 attacks Gene Deathcraft with his spear! 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15, damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
2 burst forth out of the captain's cabin to attack Aoro! 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10, damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Sunny just laughs as a silly Grindly-squiddly tries to inconvenience the imperturbable Elf.
On her turn to 'ripost'
Att Roll:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Dam Roll:2d6 + 2 ⇒ (3, 5) + 2 = 10

Torque2 |

Torque gets slapped by tentacles. How much damage?
Unfortunately, Torque is not very agile and won't be swinging off ropes so he goes the Conan route and attempts so send a Grindylaw head soaring into the air.
Hack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 122d4 + 3 ⇒ (2, 1) + 3 = 6

Aoro Osris |

Aoro avoids the little sea goblin's attack with ease, hopping back he calls forth three more silver fish swimming in a circle in his palm.
"Enjoy."
Magic Missile vs Grindylows: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 21d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 41d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
He sends one to each of the closest grindylows.
Let me know if I get a hero point. How many are left?

'Sunny' |

Sunny waves her great sword madly about her head, deftly shifting to one hand just to show her prowess with the blade. With a wild exuberant laugh she races over to the nearest Grindly.
"BWA! Hahahahahahaha!" (^_^)

Tarchinis Verance |

HP 24/29
So, this post will happen between right after GM Elton's post that starts 'Yep".
Still scrambling to get set, Tarchinis barely has his blade clear of the scabbard when a pair of crude spears lunge at him. His own clumsiness spared him the first, but the second scored a long, painful cut along his ribs.
Having not acted, I am assuming that I am flatfooted for the first round of attacks. That being the case, 1 misses, 1 hits for 5. Hp24/29.
His free left hand flickered up, grasping the spear shaft behind the head for a moment, yanking it up into the line of the grindylow's vision - while his right hand whipped his cutlass in a wide arc, over his own head and down at the creature's extended arms...
Move action: Improved Feint. Bluff vs.(10+grindy's BAB+Grindy's Wis mod) 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
I am guessing that the bluff is a success. Attack vs Grindy-with-no-dex-mod:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Damage(w. sneak attk) :1d6 + 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (4) + 2 + (3) = 9
...hacking into both biceps with a meaty 'Thud'. With a vicious twist of his hips, Tark drew the razor-sharp blade across, severing the big artery under the creature's left upper arm, artfully turning his head as a large percentage of the grindylow's brackish blood sprayed over the deck.
With a savage grin, he flicked the blood from his sword and faced his other attacker, left hand curling in a 'Come hither' gesture.

[dice=Hack]1d20+5;2d4+3
You're actually tripped.
Although a grindylow can't attack to cause damage with its six tentacles, these wriggling legs constantly writhe and reach out to tug at and trip adjacent foes. During the grindylow's turn, it can make a single trip attack against any adjacent foe as a swift action. It gains a +4 racial bonus on trip attacks made with its tangling tentacles, and if it fails to trip a foe, that creature can't attempt to trip the grindylow in retaliation.
