Paljon, no, jonkin verran keskustelua on käyty Pelilaudallla yksityisviesteillä. Veltzeh aikoi tuoda puolituis rogue / alkemistin.
Omat vaihtoehtoni ovat
Jos kuitenkin melee hahmoja näyttää olevan parikin, tekaisisin half-orc skaldin. Lupaan että on hahmo mikä tahansa, se on sunnuntaina valmis.
Hi, 5-feet step does not provoke attacks of opportunity. Check the chapter about actions in Core Rulebook to learn action types and what does and does not provoke attack of opportunity. Handy way to hamper the benefits of 5-foot steps, is taking Step Up feat, which lets you to follow with 5-foot step of your own (in CRB). There is also more advanced feats on the line. Do notice that one can't make any other action involving moving on round it has used 5-foot step (so can't be combined with charge action). Do note that the movement during charge provokes AoO:s. Also, if you are flatfooted, typically meaning that you have not yet acted in combat, you won't ever gain AoO:s. ***Our group has for long used HouseRule, where 5-foot step will provoke AoO.***
Thank you, big time for your report. I consider GM:ing Legacy of Fire, after playing it couple of years ago. I like to increase the story and game effects of Templars of the Five Winds, and creating Tempest as Intelligent weapon is a marvelous idea. Also, I think it is great campaign to use Mythic powers, but I think I ll water it out just with some increased number and uses of Hero Points, instead of opting that largely criticized Mythic rules. Thanks again, and keep em coming!
I have considered Companion books for optional books for players, full of fluff and some additional mechanical choices. I have bought close to dozen before. This time tho, I feel trapped to buy this book to get my Swashbuckler to work as intended. Kinda sad development! EDIT - Hmm, and I guess I need to throw some extra bucks to get the material to HeroLab aswell. Ggrrr!
Ultimate Advanced Player's Guide or Ultimate Skills indeed, would earn some dollars from me. Lets face it, creating more interesting characters keeps this hobby fresh. Erratad and finished Ultimate Spells and Ultimate Feats (in style of Equipments) would prolly find some use as well. These would help controlling all the existing material in one easy format package. Still, I hope the developers keep their heads fresh and bring something new all together!
Black Blade levels up with the Magus. What "level" would the Black Blade be, when its master is dead? I think the situation is bit same than trying to use Handle Animal skill to adopt Familiar or Animal Companion. Intelligent Items are not made with same rules than Black Blade. Black Blade is a class ability.
Asks Your GM. This is how I would call it (as I happen to GM a bladebound magus indeed in RotR campaign). Simulacrum starts without equipment. Caster must provide the gear for the simulacrum (including spellbook, clothes, spell component pouch, armor and weapons). Simulacrum has to made a link with a weapon (masterwork weapon probably) to make it a black blade. This link and all black blade abilities are lost if simulacrum dies. Only the original masterwork weapon remains. Of course, if it serves your campaign, it just might be, that the black blade turns in to standard intelligent weapon. Don't let rules and rulings restrict roleplay and good story.
I converted level 1 Warpriest to Revised version. The Sacred Weapon ability is written in very clunky manner. It actually makes me hesitate if I understood the property correctly myself!; In addition, the warpriest sacred weapon damage (+dice?) is based on his level and not the weapon type. If the weapon normally deals more damage than this (/ weapon has bigger damage dice?), its damage (+dice?) is unchanged. This increase in damage does not affect any other aspect of the weapon (like crit range? or damage type P/S/B?). The warpriest can decide to use the weapon’s base damage instead of the sacred weapon damage—this must be declared before the attack roll is made (so I noticed in the first place that my greataxes deals d12, so I still need to mention using it before every attack roll? Is this sentence needed? I can't see any logic here!). Oh yes, I am not native English speaker. So forgive if it just lack of skill on my part.
I came to forums to looks advice what Feats to pick at first level. The extra combat feat is absolutely tricky to fill; My bab is 0 (most combat feats require bab +1) Looks like Combat Reflexes with my Dex 13 -.- Maybe move the Bonus feats starting from level 2 instead. Now I feel I really have to waste a feat now. Luckily tho, in Society one can reroll the character at level 2..
I stand corrected; You got 1 level Wizard (Spellslinger) & 19 levels Witch. I got confused.. sorry. I'd ask your GM directly. I could rule it both ways, but lately I have preferred fun over un-needed strickness in my campaign. Tho, you can hope to have developers to have a say about it.. but for these situations I think you are expected to relay on your GM. If your GM says no, unlucky for you (he probably has a good reason for it). If he has a habbit of saying no to every cool idea you got, you might want to look another group/GM to play with.

Thanks for the tip burgleyman. If we didn't share rather nice collection of plastic miniatures with my friend, I would have absolutely picked those up for the RotR-campaign that I have really enjoyed GM:ing. Choises choises..
I am still saddened about the price tag. It would cost me 600€ to get full bundle to Finland, over douple the cost of H&M. I am even GM:ing the Runelords, just starting Book 4 tomorrow after two years of gaming it.. but nay.. I got no such money to waste. Dunno, I hope there is Yule discount or something coming.. cutting off 20% of the price and if I managed to convice friend of mine to share the cost.. maybe.
Price of the set is heavy. And I mean Heavy. I am ordering it to Finland, which means heavy posting costs, risks with Euro/Dollar exchange rate and add to top Finnish 23% VAT at customs. For the first set I had 3 friends sharing the expanses. Each of us paid about 79€. Total 317€. I did now the same calculation, and with all costs I am now getting share of 152€. Total 609€!! If I was to buy it all alone, I'd say nay at this same second. Now I am asking if friends will take their shares again before making the final decision. So by crunching the numbers, I'd definitely suggest smaller (30-40 piece) sets in the future.
I've got human male scoundrel type two-weapon fighter character. He was earlier tricked (not knowing the local customs) and then forced (rest of the party un-willing to help or flee with him) in to marriage. He got ceremonial tattoo as a mark of marriage in his right hand. The bride is very relaxed, only asks monetary investments for her luxurious live now and then. She isn't that awful at all, but as a Chaotic Good character, the situation feels like a cage nevertheless. After dozens of twist and turns in the campaign, he has now found a real elf lover, someone she feels strongly about. He has been seeing himself as a elf wannabe and now happens to have a scroll that it supposed to be able to change his gender to elf (another long story..)! Couple of sessions ago, GM broke his metal miniature *shakes fist angrily*. During that session my poor lad was petrified. When we finally got a scroll "Stone to Flesh" in to our hands, the result was one handed two-weapon fighter, eeek! After another session, we managed to get 3 vials of regeneration. One was immediately used to fix the missing hand. Another was given to party's barbarian (he can get messy..). Last bottle was left to my poor lad who in the same second remembered the tattoo in his other, still non-fixed hand! Should a willing character be able to cut his own hand? How would ye handle this situation as a GM? PS. yes, this is the reason why I am getting my minis in plastic now on.
Many opponents are immune to mind-affecting effects (constructs, oozes, plants, undead and vermin). That leaves witch character little to do. I am GM:ing a witch in a party, and I really like the supporting role of the class. Sleep hex can be a pain, but good boss should have impressive saves. Didn't help certain lamia matriarch thou. Two One's; Save vs Sleep and then Save vs Coup De Grace...
Hmm. When the character decides to start BOOM:ing innocent NPC:s, dont ask him to roll dice. Tell him that his victim was taken out and lawkeepers catch him on the scene and take him in to jail. Rest of the party continues the story and problem maker is has some idle time to following the events of rest of the part. Next morning he is freed with some heavy fines. He was lucky that Father Grimbarrow survived his serious wounds. Maybe that teaches him to think his acts. At least rest of the party can have social encounters without a massacre. Yeah, he will probably feel ye take the right to defend himself with Rollplaying, but Roleplaying is teamwork, not selfish acts. Goodluck!
I did play Lotro for three long years. I enjoyed the story, the world and the respectful player base. I made good friends back there. Nowadays tho, I am still fully fed up of the end game stillness. I have not tried EVE, but I believe ye got a man who can make game different than typical MMORPG. If Pathfinder manages truly to make a gameworld, where there is something else than grind in the end, I am happy to give it a go. Shame, that I just bought an apartment. I could have became investor instead;) Good luck, it is a bold move yer making!
Interesting to learn out, that the hassle with diagonal movement was kept in the Beginner Box. I am playing in couple of campaigns and we have got rid of the rule. We like complexity, but counting diagonal movement is worth not much else than slowing down the game and obscuring something that should be clean and simple. If you really want to keep the game simple, do houserule your beginner game and count every square worth 5 feet movement (diagonal or not).
In my eyes your version seems to be pretty strong. Fundamentally, people sacrificing to use one hand to wield a shield should be the best in defense. With your version, full BaB class would have +2 shield bonus at level four, equivalent for non-magical heavy shield. I am playing two-weapon fighter in homebrew campaign, and the standard Two-Weapon Defence with +1 shield bonus and additional +1 when fighting defensively is worth a feat. With 3 ranks in acrobatics and that feat, while fighting defensively, he gets -4 to hit and +4 to AC. Not bad. No need for Combat Expertise as a bonus. If you want to use your version of the feat, I would suggest sturdier prerequisites.
This is my take for Xanesha against 7x level 6 PC:s. She ll start with medium/long time buffs (fly, mage armour, false life) laying in her silk sheets and having lil chat. When she is ready for her move, or feeling threatened she ll cast invisibility and if lucky finish the buffs (wear the mask, cast mirror image and haste [or divine favour, both would be overkill]). After that she ll try to be a good medusa girl, followed by lots of piercing strikes. Tho, in my case, the biggest problem will the pseudodragon able to spot her reliably.. I wonder what kind of spear is Impaler of Thorns? 2d6 damage and 10 reach seems to suggest that it is large sized long spear? Shouldn't it be medium sized? I am actually going to run the encounter tomorrow and tonight I will be tooling her in HeroLab. In my opinion she should have AC of 28 (buffed with Mage Armour) and Mirror Image. I think it would make good encounter against 7 PC:s (level 6). I will not use Silence spell aproach, but put her in charismatic female form and start by investigating the daring warriors. She ll try to petrify/charm some of the PC:s (action economy is truly against her being alone) and she should also have some good punch on her hits. Tho, no power attack, she is more dexterity type in my eyes. Overall, I would give her some more edge on the hardcover version than suggested at this thread.
I was watching both Mona and Mentzer to lead tables and it was interesting to see how the game has changed in decades. I still prefer the Pathfinder, but Mentzer really made many people involved by killing characters here and there, and thus making room for new people to join the table. Very generous of him! I strongly dislike word "fan", but I was really glad to get Mr Monas autography to my (again) un-used Society character sheet. Maybe next year..
Thanks for the feedback and well earned criticism. I am happy to be on customer side, and buying the stuff I feel worth the investment. Somehow, my worst fear is that Pathfinder is going too fast. Coming to the stage, where a few good products are multiplied to many hurried products just for sake of the business. It is not only the situation with Bestiary line, but also other lines (for example I wish there was a full year between Ultimate Books). I am happy with my current books, but cant see the quality to stay the same. I would be happy to skip Asian themed Bestiary and would buy epic book, but not sure if it is mix of everything. I have enjoyed Bestiry 2, but still lots of content (aprox. 80%) to be used for the first time. But that is my feeling, and I hope Paizo can prove me wrong. Just answered to the topic of this thread. Oh, I am a Finn. Thus easily satisfied and bit slow to adapt;)
