Looks good. Thank you for running!
Fek follows the stone monk, a loaded crossbow in hand.
I am okay moving through the first portal after just a channel, but will definitely need more healing before I can actually help in combat.
Fek lays on the ground for a while, even after the golem crumbles apart. "Maybe w-we should have, uh, listened--listened to M-Mack?"
I have wands of cure light wounds and infernal healing, if somebody can tap me with them?
That happened to a player in one of my other games recently, too. And it's happened to me a bunch in the past. It is some sort of bug they haven't been able to fix.
Davina: we might be better off if you just heal Mack. Healing me is a waste, and nobody else seems severely injured.
Don't worry about keeping me alive right now. You need to take down the golem, which I couldn't help with even at full hp.
Milo Flamecursed wrote: Shrug. Admitedly his profile is a little scant.
But going from his small size 'bot me' while flanking... he has a +21 to hit (then +1 for haste, -4 for pain) which comes out to a +18, which is exactly what he used.
Checking the math:
+7 (bab)
+9 (reduced size dex)
+1 (size bonus)
+1 (competence from ioun stone)
+1 weapon focus claws
+1 haste
+2 flanking
-4 pain
= +18 for the claws (+17 for the rest)
His math looks correct =)
Actually, it's not. +3 flanking because of the group fighter trait. Character sheet is correct, but the bot me macros weren't up to date.
GM Blake wrote: If you have upon reaching 0 hp effects, enact them now and presumably any effects upon death. Davina has his scroll of breath of life, but I don't think she'll be able to use it in time. And was it my math that was off? I can double check everything if it was.
Edit: I forgot to adjust my hit points for bear's endurance. If it's still active, then I started at 80 hp. If not, then still currently dead.
OOC I find Rocky and Milo's position more persuasive, but IC I would probably side with Leventi's jailbreak.
Fek squats on his heels, looking from the pit to Leventi to Mack.
No particular opinion, though Fek would love trying to disable the hourglass.
Fek slips off to the side, constantly looking back and forth from the pit to the fiend.
"Ghosts!"
Fek shouts the single word, then cowers down between his allies.
Not it. I already have a stack of unused boons.
Perfect! I'm short on time this morning, so glad you took my action already. Will save for next door.
Will: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Not sure whether I got sucked in because of my crappy saves or my post was misunderstood. I intended to follow Rocky, as before. Wasn't going to be first until after "everyone is through the portal."
Will: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Fort: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
Once everyone is through the portal, Fek takes the lead to scout for trouble.
Will: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
@Milo: Can you tap me with the wand of reduce person before we enter each portal and room?
Pretty sure I'm going to be at a penalty on will saves for the final battle, and that Leventi is going to force us to make a lot of said saves. But I'll try to die alone :-Þ
I would like to scout first, but am too cowardly to do so in this situation. Unless someone specifically asks, then Fek would probably be more afraid of you realizing that he's a coward.
Fek stands in front of the door a second, then runs through after Rocky.
Will: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
We were just given the scroll by an NPC.
Fek examines the floor around the hourglass, then moves closer to check out the object itself.
Usual Take 10
Milo and Davina both should be able to. Probably just the normal weekend slow down.
Fek shuffles behind Mack, rubbing his claws together in quick spurts. Stupid! Stupid! I didn't find the traps and now we're all going to die.
Seeing as how we are entering an enemy lair, Fek will take 10 for Perception before moving anywhere or touching anything. That's a 37 regularly, 42 vs. traps, and 44 vs. magical traps. If that would slow him down too much or otherwise cause problems, please let me know.
D'oh! It wasn't even way back at the beginning of the scenario. Guess I need more caffeine.
Wait, I killed someone? I don't even remember making any attack rolls. What did I miss/forget?
And how high in the air are the erinyes? How high are the buildings? Channeled energy is a burst, which "can't affect creatures with total cover from its point of origin (in other words, its effects don't extend around corners)."
We may need to draw some 3D lines, but there's a decent chance they escape the channeled energy.
As the rope brushes against his feathers, Fek shrieks like a hatchling, then zig zags around several corners. How do I get out of here? I need to get out of here!
After several blocks of sprinting and a couple of loop backs, he finally stops in a closed alley. How do I find the captain lady? What if she left without me? What if they captured my friends?
As his fear of a prison cell fades, Fek's fear of getting left behind grows, and he starts carefully working his way back.
Stealth (T10): 10 + 32 = 42
Fek will stop one block behind Milo and around the corner of a building, keeping an eye on the gnome. I'm guessing he would return sometime in the 3-5 minute range.
Fek's greatest fear is being arrested. Ending up in an extraplanar jail for eternity would be even worse. Fair warning to his allies: Fek isn't going to be rational here.
Milo Flamecursed wrote: The question is, who has the hellknight emblem thing, we were given? Mack, I think. Though he seems to think Fek and Davina have them as well--so not sure.
I'm not a murderer! He really wants us to kill his enemy.
Sense Motive (T10): 10 + 15 = 25
Unable to control himself any longer, Fek begins edging toward the diamond, claws opening and closing repeatedly.
Vote for the diamond
Fek slides around the outside of the group, trying not to stare at the diamond.
We should probably take the onyx and free the soul, no?
Fek stands in the corner completely still, then suddenly breaks into a rush of small, quick movements. The cycle repeats itself over and over, sometimes with long pauses, but often with less than a minute of stillness. This is a bad idea. They're going to kill me first and then put me in a cell with no lock or door, while everybody else escapes back home. This is a bad idea!
@Milo: Darkvision now. Reduce person right before combat if possible. Versatile weapon if and when Mack and Keos want it.
@Rocky: Your unarmed strikes count as silver (and cold iron), right? Your profile doesn't list it.
Fek taps Mack on the shoulder, but cringes away when the man turns toward him. "S-sir. Milo has something, uh, s-sp-special for y-your weapons."
The scrolls of versatile weapon probably make the most sense on Mack's adamantine kukri and Keos' arrows.
Milo Flamecursed wrote: Darkvision, 3 hours
reduce person, 10 rounds
versatile weapon, 5 minutes (but this does not work on natural weapons... so not sure it will help Fek, who doesn't even have an actual weapon!)
Milo will use things before we go in... but once the fight starts, he's more likely to do his own thing, though can still hold them, just in case..
All depends on timing of things, which we do not know at the moment.
I'm assuming you'll only activate them if we get the heads-up a minute before the fight starts. And versatile weapon does work on natural weapons and unarmed strikes.
@GM: Can't remember if I mentioned this before, but Fek always keeps a potion of reduce person in hand. He pretty much only puts it away when using both hands.
Fek approaches Milo and Davina with a clawful of scrolls and wands, "Please, Sirs, can y-you u-use these for me, uh, please?"
Fek stares at the diamond from a distance, constantly looking at the armed crowds and taking his hands in and out of his cloak's pockets.
Multiple fights sounds like a plan.
Fek looks at Artylget, then at Milo, then stares at Artylget for a while.
Link: though my result is 2 lower now.
Fek conceals the contracts in his cloak with the same skill that he acquired them, then walks around to each of his allies until Davina finally says she can read them.
Rocky the Oread wrote: Those planer penalties are really piling up. Ranging from -4 to -6. I totally goofed. Just remembered that the penalty is only on mental abilities. I had been taking it on all skills--most of which were not mental!
The sparkle of gilded book covers combined with the opportunity of less carefully watched goods, pulls Fek straight to the reshelving carts.
Sleight of Hand (T10): 10 + 37 = 47 (+2 if I actually take something, but assume he's just looking right now)
Fek peeks out from his hiding spot, wondering what his companions are deciding to do.
No preference, in character or out.
Of course the gnome saw that spike I missed! Now they all know how clumsy I am.
Halfway through the wallbreak, Fek's head starts swiveling back and forth constantly, his claws move faster and faster, and the rest of his body completely disappears into his cloak. Eventually, the tengu simply drops his tools and runs away, leaving Rocky to finish the task.
If it matters at all, Fek is somewhere nearby, taking 20 on Stealth before the cops arrive.
"M-maybe it would cheer them up if, uh, if they could escape?"
Fek looks at the wall for a minute, then starts moving around spikes and body parts.
Escape Artist (T10): 10 + 27 = 37
@GM: Do I feel like the task is within my normal abilities, i.e. DC 50 or less? That will affect how I respond to a failure.
Fek's silence makes it that much easier for him to listen and watch everyone that passes by, and though he is really only concerned with getting caught by the guards, he sometimes picks up useful information.
Sense Motive (T10): 10 + 17 = 27
Not sure whether Milo found out all there is to learn, or if we need multiple checks?
