Leventi sidesteps the first two strikes and then causually deflects the next three with his left arm. "It still is... for you," he says. "I still need someone to disarm that annoying device."
EDIT: And that wasn't because you chose non-lethal. You just missed.

Leventi tries to block Mack's knives. He deflects the first blow, the second blow scrapes across his iron-like skin, he side steps the third, and finally Mack manages to slice through the devil's flesh, although it is not as deep as he would have hoped. The last slice fails to penetrate.
Fek's claws slide across the devil's skin, but he manages to sink a bite and ram his helm's horns into the devil--once.
The wolf fails to touch the devil.
Leventi bats the first two arrows fired by Keos out of the air. The third he simple ducks away from.
(By request) Zarta begins to inspire you, comparing you to Seekers that she has met.
Leventi casts defensively and disappears.
Now fully free of the display case, the golem flares with hellfire and turns towards Fek. It releases a groan as it does so, and Rocky, Moridskitos, and Fek feel themselves being slowed back to normal speed.
Fek only has a moment to contemplate this before two, massive stone fists descend upon him and flatten him on the floor (normal hit + critical hit [20, 20] resulting in 81 damage, 3 and 3 of which were fire, if it matters; if you have upon reaching 0 hp effects, enact them now and presumably any effects upon death).

Davina releases a healing wave through the room. Fek finds his breath again, although he may wish that he had not. (one of Mack or Fek is going to need to move out of that square; Fek would likely provoke unless he's gone one of a few different feats)
Fek tries to roll out of the way of Mack's feet, but the pain prevents him from moving as quickly as he normally would. The stone golem takes the opportunity to strike at the tengu. The crushing stone fist shatters the tile next to Fek's beak.
Mordiskitos rapidly bites at the golem but finds nothing but pain for his efforts.
Keos' arrows bounce off of the golem's Hellknight armor accomplishing nothing.
Zarta continues her inspiration and cautiously moves forward. She casts heroism on Keos.
Then the contracts leap back into the air and start whirling around as though they were tossed in a hurricane. They tear at Milo, Zarta, Davina, Keos, and Mordiskitos. The wounds ooze continuously.
The golem turns its fiendish attention back toward the only one to damage it so far. One powerful fist burning with hellfire strikes Mack in the face. Then a second.

"Prig Dimension Doored away." Milo growls from the swarm of paper. "Fancy hourglass didn't stop him from pushing at all."
"Less he's confined to the previous rooms." He adds, with a thoughtful scowl.
No clue what sort of disatance the scroll portals give. But he might not be too far off... though means we have to go back through the scroll again. 8P

Rocky tends to Fek. It helps, a little.
Milo is right about having to go back through the portals.

Did Leventes pop out with the head in the jar? Or is that still here?
Then moves a little closer to the portal, after Zarta, cursing the entire way.
He then tries to disperse some of them like he did before... though without quite as big a spell to use, hoping to give the others a clearer path for at least some of the way.
Hmm... going to use a burning hands spell, converted to electricity, since zapping them seemed to work earlier... though this won't be nearly so much damage.

He will try to blast the scrolls on the left side of the room, and the middle section if possible, without hitting anyone else.
And Mack, for the record: bless weapon causes your attacks to automatically confirm... no need to roll =)

Reset: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Might as well roll the thing now: 1d20 ⇒ 20 +modifier
Milo subdues two thirds of the room's whirling contracts of death. Mordiskitos is left in the grinder. He opts to leave the whirling death. (One of the few times I will take control of a pet)
Yes. Leventi left with Gellius' soul.
How long are you planning on staying in this room? The safe zone is obvious, now, and there looks to be room for all of you if you're going to try to heal back to full.

Sweet! Wasn't sure that was going to work
Last time the contracts stayed dormant for 3 or 4 rounds... so imagine we want to bail as soon to immediately as possible, before they all come back again! =P
Not to mention Leventi is using all this time to do 'something' I'm sure!

Mack retrieves his potion of cure serious wounds and chugs it, watching some of his battered and torn flesh begin to stitch itself back together. Well, that's a little better.

This is where you are, still in round 5, as far as status goes.
Zarta, realizing that you are taking a break, moves to the back of the room where there are no contracts. "I understand the need to be in a position of strength, but might Leventi not be doing the same thing as us?"
Milo reminds you that the contracts are going to keep regenerating.
Like I said, there's room to arrange yourself. I just need confirmation that everyone is heading to the back in a nice fireball cluster.

Seeing that everyone is healing up Rocky looks around to see if there is a way to prevent the scrolls from coming back. If not he will put away his things and move to the back of the room with Zarta.

Mack raises an eyebrow at Zarta, "Gee, Cap'n, you really think so?"
He looks around at the spellcasters and asks, "Anybody able to see or purge invisibility? Slipping through the portals wasn't exactly a 'discrete' mode of travel. So he didn't use that or one of us would have seen it. And Vetrivides said Leventi's teleportation and such doesn't work as long as he's got the hourglass locking the contract devil inside."
Mack moves, trying to help disperse the team from an area effect. Then he begins cleaning his fingernails with his mithral kukri. Patience, Mack ol' boy.
"Say, Leventi," Mack calls out. "Maybe my friends would be willing to reconsider your earlier offer, if you sweeten the deal. We know, and you know, you're not leaving this place without our help. And Vetrivides already has enough evidence now to have Dispater reduce you to imp status pronto. Your call, but the clock's ticking..."

Mack shrugs, "Makes me no never mind, Milo ol' pal. You find him, we'll kill him. I'm easy-sleazy, bro."
"Where'd he go?" Mack asks the gnome--or anyone else who might know.

![]() |

"Pushed himself out." Milo responds with a scowl. "Dimension Door. Granny'd the hourglass would stop it... but maybe just keeps him inside."
"Probably waitin' ta cool us through there, by now." He adds, pointing towards the scroll portal.
Thought the hourglass stopped such things, but rereading it, perhaps it just keeps him in the area... so any of the rooms we've just explored? So any of the prior 4, I imagine. Though doubt he's in the room with the Vetrivides and the bone devils, as they'd likely jump him too

"Ah, he d-doored out, eh? Well, I'm game to play duck-duck-goose through his sanctuary, I guess. Mind if I head into the ambush last?"
Mack waves his hands over all the runic tattoos displayed on him. "I'm already pretty vulnerable to his magic, and slipping through those scroll slime trails will only make it worse."
When everyone's ready to head to and through the portal, Mack will follow, bringing up the rear.

Zarta casts a spell that restores a fair bit of Fek's injuries. This presumably leaves you with at little time to rush through the portal before the contracts in the middle and west side of the room regenerate.

Milo will go once a couple folks have entered, since Mack wants to be last now =)
If needed, he will try another electric burning hands to clear the contracts to reach the gate, if we've waited too long 5d4 + 9 ⇒ (2, 3, 4, 4, 1) + 9 = 23 damage.
Oh, and since we're waiting around, Fly on Rocky... as some of these rooms have had higher ceilings! and Vanish on himself before stepping through.
