Starting town: Omnisha (Permata Controlled)
On the edge of Permata's territory lies the town of Omnisha. Every 5 years this town holds a festival to commemorate the redrawing of territorial lines in the Warlands. Champions from each of the Island's factions come to compete in Olympic-style competitions to test their skills and prove their supremacy. Merchants from all over come to sell their wares, weather they be Food Vendors or Guildleaders. The event lasts a month and allows for all kinds of travelers to partake of the festivities.
Near the Eastern entrance of town lies an inn known as the Three-Legged Mule. It's a rather large inn, built for the large capacity needed for the festival, and includes its own built in bar and tavern. Tonight their is a performance by none other then the famous Many-Face Mortey.
Many of the clans, groups, and guilds are present at the show, enjoying a pint of meed and generally trying to enjoy the festivities.
Among these multitudes of groups lies a table with a peculiar mishmash of adventurers, seated together because they didn't have a group of their own. Silence penetrates the table until a human waitress wearing a low cut red and brown dress comes up to the table
"Is there anythin' I can getch y'all to drink before the show?"
(This is a time for character introductions and inter-conversation, feel free to respond to each other and not wait for me. If you'd like go ahead and make a perception or knowledge check of your choice, noting anything you'd like to know or are looking for)
| "Dirty" Harry Calahan |
An elf-orc with pointed fey ears belches loudly and slams a fist upon the table, only to wince from the too hard surface. Shaking his head in mock amusement at the folly of his actions, he turns the comely waitress.
Aye. I'll have some of your thickest mead, some elvish sprigs and mutton chops he says in a strange whimsical voice. think of a boys squeaky voice as he goes through puberty, deep one moment, light and girly the next
I'll look around and see if i spot any members of my former religious order.perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
looking at the rest of those sitting at the table, the man raises his left hand the glory of Sehr'lozt be upon ye.
Sehr'lotz is one of the greater dieties found within the elf-orc pantheon. Being a true representative of the elf-orc race, Sehr'lotz exemplifies the brutality of orcs and the isolationism of the elvish nature.
Sehr'lotz finds the games to be tedious, but neccessary. A great excuse for the world to view the supremacy of the orc-elf race, a reminder that were it not for the isolation of the race, the world would be run by the elf-orcs.
| Nimos Yardan |
Looking way down at the loud priest Nimos sighs and wishes he had enough money that he could leave without bothering to find work.
Why did he slam it if his wrist is so weak, never mind at least this bar has chairs big enough for me the last two inns had me sitting on the floor.
A large cup of Ale and two chickens.
He sits back and cracks his massive hands before settling back in his seat.
| Kwin Longclaw |
Kwin jumps slightly as the table is slammed, immediately hoping no one noticed. He speaks politely to the serving girl while eyeing his overly exuberant tablemate. "Pulque please -- the largest tankard you have -- and some cheese. Also, a dish of honey."
He glances up at the waitress for the first time, blinks, and pushes his cap a bit further back on his head for a better view. "She'll have no trouble feeding her pups."
The lean young man then looks back over his shoulder at the imposing armored figure behind him and sighs. "Kohl, would you please stop standing over me like that? This is a social gathering and there's no threat. Honest. I promise. Sit down and relax."
He returns his gaze to the man who had attacked the table and studies his somewhat orcish features for a moment. "Thank you for the blessings sir, and Daikitsu's grace to you as well."
As far as I can tell Paizo has basically one kitsune avatar, and I see it used a lot... which is why I chose a fox for my avatar instead. But that tells you nothing about Kwin. So, this is roughly how I envision him in both forms. He'll normally be in human alterform and will appear as on the left -- though with a cap, hat, or hood covering his vulpine ears.

she writes down the order on a notepad, curious as she didn't have it a molment ago
Alright, and howz about you fellas? Be needin anythang? she gestures toward the remaining three with end of her pencil
Perception check reveals no former religious colleges, you do notice the groups at the 2 closest tables, one contains a group of humans, not loud but very talkitive group the symbol of a flaming z can be noticed as tatoos on their arms, the other contains a dwarf, seated without compaions, but a waitress at each arm and a full dinner in front of him, he is having a grand ol' time
| K-01 'Kol' |
The armored figure identified as Kol, or Kohl as his companion obstinately calls him, stands for a few moments more behind his charge as if he did not hear the command. A pair of glowing yellow eyes can be seen from under his visored face as his head pans across the inn. His gaze settles on each of the newcomers in turn and both would feel as if they were being scrutinized under a looking glass before he looks elsewhere.
"Very well, Sir," he finally says in an oddly hollow, metallic voice apparently satisfied with whatever he was looking for. He moves to occupy an empty stool nearby Kwin, his motions eerily fluid for someone who looked to be decked out in full-plate. The poor chair creeks ominously under Kol's bulk as he sits down, but it holds out heroically.
"I do not require a beverage or a meal..." he says to the barmaid, then as an afterthought adds, "At this time. Thank you for your query, ma'am."
Right now I'm under the assumption that warforged do not require food or drink. Still Kol will be attempting to appear human. Emphasis on attempting. I'd also roll a sense motive check on the other two players as part of my character but I don't believe in PvP.
| Merrilin Thomdril |
Merry holds down a chuckle at the elf-orc's self-injury. He speaks clearly and with authority
A slice of ye grandest apple pie if ye' be having any lass
he turns to compaions and notices the well armored fellow staring at him with luminous eyes.
Ifen you don't mind, I was wonderin how be making ye eyes glow brighter then the full moon on a dark night?
| Kwin Longclaw |
Kwin smiles at the orcish man's comment. "He's not exactly a lightweight, either. Our occasional experiments with horseback riding have been... *cough*... 'less than successful'."
Miyako Okori
|
Miyako stands in front if the inn and cocks her head. She then walks to the door and opens it, to find herself greeted by a bunch a loud strangers. Curious, she steps inside the inn and looks around her.
Whoa... I've seen humans before, but what's...
After walking over to Harry, Miyako lowers her face till it's on the same height as the elf-orc's. Which means the small girl doesn't have to lower her face that much at all.
What a curious creature...
A few seconds pass before Miyako straightens herself. It's then that her eyes see Kol. She repeats the whole process of staring with the warforged, then walks up to Kwin as he appears somewhat familiar to Miyako. "What are those?", she asks, pointing at the curiosities she's just encountered.
Miyako is a Kitsune, but nothing fox-ish shows in her human form. In her human form she looks the way her avatar does.
| GM: |
Don't forget about “Seclusionary Customs: –2 on Bluff, Diplomacy and Knowledge checks when associated with people, customs, or regions outside of the Elf-Orc nation.” Harry Your nat 20 brings you a picture of a foreign document which you read long ago http://www.pathfinderwiki.com/wiki/Daikitsu
Drinks'l be over in a secon hons, food'll take a bit longer
With that the waitress walks away
Miyako Okori
|
Only just now noticing the waitress, Miyako turns around to her. "Wait, miss! What are those, do you know?" She points at Harry and Kol. "I can't figure it out."
| Kwin Longclaw |
Miyako is a Kitsune, but nothing fox-ish shows in her human form.
Yep, that's how it's supposed to work; Kwin's disadvantaged. He never could get the hang of ears. Or Thursdays.
Taken aback by the newcomer's effusive nature, one of Kwin's vulpine ears twitches invisibly beneath his cap. "I know that boundless energy... it feels like home..."
He resists the instinctive urge to leap into play and tries to maintain an air of composure.
"Erm... well hello to you, too. 'Those'... well, this is my companion Kohl. The gentleman over there is a..." Kwin pauses. "... follower of Sehr'lozt, I believe."
"And you would be?"
Miyako Okori
|
"I'm Miyako."
Miyako leans in and whispers in Kwin's ear. "I can notice you're like me. I'm from the Okori clan, that fled from the forests up north."
"I don't know Sehr'lozt", she says as she moves away from Kwin's ear and seats herself next to him. When she sits Miyako's eyes promptly twitch and roll back in their sockets. "I... Igh..."
Knowledge (religion): 1d20 ⇒ 14 +2?
| K-01 'Kol' |
"...Kol will suffice. Well met." *Ding* 'Greeting Protocol Complete.'
He hears a small commotion going on behind him and turns to the see the young lady that had bounded up to them earlier and was talking to Kwin starting to make a scene.
"Does the young lady require medical aid, Master Kwin?" he asks, the barest hint of concern creeping into his voice.
| GM: |
@Miyako Ah dang I forgot about character traits Hmmmmmmmm alright thats fine
Anyone who would like to go ahead and choose up to 2 character traits (can't believe it slipped my mind)
I don't believe you get the +2 as oracles don't make knowledge checks untrained
You know that it is a god of the orc-elfs, but nothing more
Miyako Okori
|
That would mean I can never get the +2, because I can't be untrained in knowledge checks? Haha, didn't see that one coming xD
Miyako shakes her head as her eyes roll back. She rubs her eyes and smiles at Kol. "No no no, not at all! This is completely normal, happens all the time", she says cheerfully.
So that would most likely make that one an elf-orc...
| Kwin Longclaw |
"Pleased Miyako, I'm Kwin."
He leans in and adds quietly, "I'm of the Inori clan, also from the North -- but we've stayed secluded enough to live in peace by not drawing attention to ourselves."
His voice returns to a normal conversational level. "Actually I don't know Sehr'lozt either; I was..."
Kwin trails off as the girl seems to go into some sort of convulsions. He looks at Kol and shrugs in response to his question, then returns his attention to the kitsune. "Hey... hey, are you alright? Miyako?"
Ninja'd!
Miyako Okori
|
Huzzah!
"Yes yes, just my great-grandfather telling me Sehr'lozt is an elf-orc god. Which would make that man an elf-orc, probably."
"Your friend over there", Miyako continues as she points at Kol. "Is he a living metal cookie can?"
| Kwin Longclaw |
Kwin blinks. "Well that's str... uh... interesting. You... might want to have that looked at."
His head turns towards Merrilin but his eyes remain fixed on Miyako until the last possible moment. "I keep telling him to introduce himself as 'Kohl the Fearsome' but it doesn't stick," he says with a grin.
Geez, this is like that TV commercial where the guy's lagging and a question behind...
Miyako Okori
|
"I asked my great-grandmother about it. She said it was fine."
Miyako laughs and claps her hands. "That's cute! A fearsome cookie can!"
| Kwin Longclaw |
Kwin turns slowly back to Miyako. "Your great-grand..." He grinds to a halt and just stares for a moment.
"Um..." He glances around the table at her question, then returns his gaze to her. "I wouldn't call him that, no. It's not accurate. And it's a bit demeaning."
Miyako Okori
|
Cocking her head, Miyako stares at Kwin. "Huh, why?"
"Well okay", she says with a shrug, "at least I know where to go when I'm hungry. But... what about thirst? I don't see that waitress anymore..." Miyako attempts to pick up an empty glass left by a previous guest to the inn. However, the glass moves away from her. Miyako jumps up and grabs hold of the glass, then sits down again. Slowly moving a finger in circles above the glass she mutters some words, and the glass slowly fills itself with water.
"So what brings you here? I'm here to watch the festival."
| Kwin Longclaw |
"Oh, I think the right reputation would do wonders, Kohl! But you do your job more than well enough, so I have no complaints."
Kwin turns back to the girl just as her glass begins filling with water. He stares at it as he answers her distractedly. "No reason. We were just... wandering. Well, I was wandering and Kohl was following along. Anyway, this looked interesting when we came across it. Seemed worth a tarry."
His eyes flick back to her. "I've never been to anything like this; never before been out of the clanwood, to be honest. So I've no idea what to expect. You know what it's about, do you?"
Miyako Okori
|
@GM: But if all knowledge checks are trained for an oracle, would that not make the trait possesed completely worthless for me? If so, may I swap it for another trait as it's still early in the campaign? For flavor I'll keep the rolling eyeballs though: Miyako's haunted anyway :P
Miyako answers with a smile when Kwin's eyes flick back to hers. "Not really, do you? I could ask my deceased uncle, if you want me to."
Taking a sip of the water Miyako nods approvingly. "Water taste... good. I once had it taste like... nevermind."
| Kwin Longclaw |
Kwin's hand shoots out and rests on Miyako's arm as if to stop her, and words tumble out of his mouth in a rush. "No no that's quite alright we'll both know in time no need to bother your... elders."
"Miyako's just like Sumomo back home -- one of those sweet, adorable little things you often want to slap the snot out of."
He looks her up and down. "Except she's way cuter than Sumomo and Kotoko put together, even in alterform."
Suddenly realizing he's still holding her arm, he yanks his hand back with a nervous cough, then looks about for the serving girl. "Where is that pulque... and maybe I should order something stronger as a chaser..."
| Nimos Yardan |
Nimos sighs and picks up his cup of ale with two fingers.
Ma'am Best add 2 more ales for me.
Ok so we have a weird guy with glowing eyes, a elf-orc, a weird gnome and male human and a crazy female one. I wonder if the dwarf has space. Nah, I would have to carry the stupid chair. Weird group, lazyness Ehhh lazyness wins
I am guessing the Kitsune aren't being obvious about themselves.
| K-01 'Kol' |
"I must caution against romancing the female, Sir," Kol suddenly says in a low tone as he leans in towards Kwin.
"Please recall what happened last time you tried courting someone. I would be displeased to have to pay for the damages again." His delivery was completely deadpan, but one could almost hear the teasing behind it.
Ah sarcastic bodyguards/butlers, my favorite trope.
| Kwin Longclaw |
Nimos, I'm not sure if Miyako really "gets" discretion :o) but Kwin definitely tries to keep a low profile and pass for human, yes.
GM, if you'd care to connect Discussion we can use it for some of the ooc banter, rather than always cluttering Gameplay.
Kwin spews pulque and flushes red for reasons he hopes no one overheard. Trying to look casual, he sets the tankard down, wipes his mouth, pulls a screwdriver from his belt pouch and studies it while speaking in low, calculated tones.
"I know where your vocalization unit lives..." he pauses, glances over at the girl, and smiles almost evilly. "...'cookie can'. Wouldn't take much to disconnect it." He looks at Kol pointedly... though with a twinkle in his brilliant blue eyes.
Kol, I know it's not the voice you're going for, but every time you talk I can't help but hear Jarvis from the Iron Man movies in my head... and you're displaying precisely his brand of caustic sarcasm, too.
| K-01 'Kol' |
Kol leans away again and seems to consider the merit of the threat. "I assure you that my vox unit is trembling in fear, Sir. I will not mention the incident again."
He then looks at the gnome and says, "I do not understand the significance of pants in our contract of operation, Sir Merry. We both appear to be fully clothed. Furthermore, he is my charge and while I am responsible for his safety and wellbeing, the young Master Qwin's opinions still hold significant weight in the matter."
I was actually thinking of Alfred from Batman while coming up with a personality. I suppose if he and Jarvis had a manbaby, Kol would be the result.
Miyako Okori
|
"Okay?" Miyako seems confused when Kwin says she doesn't need to bother her elders and grabs hold of her arm.
When Kol speaks of 'courting' Miyako yanks her arm away and her face flushes. "B-but sir! We've only just met! I can't!", she says, clearly getting the wrong idea about Kwin's intentions.
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 Somewhat distracted as well, haha :P
| Kwin Longclaw |
"Rassenfrassen!"
"Pay Kohl no heed, miss. He has an odd sense of humor. I assure you, I have no designs on you."
Kwin takes another sip of his drink.
"... at this time."
"Besides, the incident to which he refers was... not my fault."
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
*Cough* Clearly the pulque is already affecting him. "Yep, this is definitely an inn."
| "Dirty" Harry Calahan |
perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Drinking his thick mead, harry pulls out his pouch of tabac and stuffs his pipe. Picking up the candle on the table he uses it to lite his pipe.
Leaning back, he puffs away, creating a thick cloud of sweet and pungent smelling smoke around him. A look of peace and relaxation overcomes his face as he watches the rest of the group chat, content to listen and learn.
| Kwin Longclaw |
Elbows on the table and tankard in both hands, Kwin slowly achieves his own brand of peace and relaxation as he studies the elf-orc over the vessel's rim.
"'Elf-orc,' Miyako said. Never heard of such, but with those ears and his looks, it fits. Never been one for those stuffy elves. And orcs..." He shivers involuntarily and takes another sip.
"But this fellow's not stuck up. And seems safe enough. Not that I'd want to cross his path on a dark night."
"I don't believe I caught your name, sir. Kwin Longclaw, at your service."
Miyako Okori

"He's mister El'forc, I just told you that." Sighing and rubbing her forehead Miyako places her glass on the table. The glass instantly moves a foot away from where she placed it. "Oh stop it grandfather, you should not do that."
"Anyway, mister El'forc, what brings you here?"
Miyako eyes Merrilin and Nimos. "Aww, those two are cuties! Different kinds of cuties, of course. One looks like a little doll and the other like he eats little dolls, but they're both cute in their own unique ways!"
