We were hired to protect the caravan from bandits and monsters, not from tolls. If he can't tongue waggle his way out of this, why should we do it for him? Besides, he's got some really good stuff. I'm sure they won't just let that pass them by. We may get a fight out of this yet. 'Course if Skane or Bjorn just happens to knock one off the bridge for looking at me the wrong way, I wouldn't be offended. ;)

Female Gnome Cavalier 2; Knight of the Shield

Should be interesting..I don't think Betony has 5 gold pieces..she has some pretty rocks, some string, some coins with different people's faces on them or animals..she likes the ones with animals like griffins and unicorns or dragons.

Male Moon Elf Fighter (Arcane Archer of Kyonin) 3; HP: 28/28; AC:14; Initiative: +3; Passive Perception: 12; Second Wind 0/1 (SR or LR); Action Surge 0/1 (SR or L); Arcane Arrow 1/2 (SR or L)

I can cover if we need to pay. :-)

Sczarni

I have an ability I've been dying to try, plus I still have Prestidigitation up. *evil grin*

See by my way of thinking we're here to guard and protect Aleph and the caravan from bandits...

Now while these feckers aren't as subtle as the last group we took down they are bandits of a sort - using their status to prey on travellers and merchants...

25 silver per head... I'm inclined to politely refuse and ask them to pay us for the inconvience and hold up.

@Rianna - what you thinking?

Male Moon Elf Fighter (Arcane Archer of Kyonin) 3; HP: 28/28; AC:14; Initiative: +3; Passive Perception: 12; Second Wind 0/1 (SR or LR); Action Surge 0/1 (SR or L); Arcane Arrow 1/2 (SR or L)

I am going to offer him 15 Gold for all of us with an additional intimidate to be done with it.

Sczarni

Well, I've got this trait, that allows me to bluff that an object is something that it isn't. For instance, I could use it to bluff that a stick I am carrying is really a sword. I get bonuses if the objects are similar shape and size. I was thinking of bluffing the 'bandit' that I had already worked on into thinking that the 5 grey stones I was dropping into his purse were really 5 platinum pieces. But if you start a fight, I'd be good with that as well, just give me a heads up so I can put them to sleep. :)

Why don't we combine the two? Offer him say 1 gold per head [which is plenty - robbing bar-stewards] then Rianna can try her stone trick?

If it goes south, then we get Northern on em!

Okay scrap that - just caught Dieredon's post... perhaps at the campsite we can recoup our gold ;)

Sczarni

Stealth and Sleight-of-hand are two of my specialties. ;)

Male Moon Elf Fighter (Arcane Archer of Kyonin) 3; HP: 28/28; AC:14; Initiative: +3; Passive Perception: 12; Second Wind 0/1 (SR or LR); Action Surge 0/1 (SR or L); Arcane Arrow 1/2 (SR or L)

Great ideas, and we need to remember them going forward. I have plenty of cash, Rich Parents Trait. So, I figured I would give him less than half of what he was asking with an intimidate thrown in. We'll see how it goes? I vote for camping on the other side of the bridge, and if they are stupid enough to attack us for what we have, we can fight them on the bridge!

Still not convinced how bona-fide these bridge guards are... might be worth some of our crew with Knowledge: Local skill trying some high rolls to recollect if any patrols/guards have went missing?

At worst they are bandits impersonating Deeptown guards, more likely they are just on the take... which makes you wonder about the character of Deeptown itself...

Regardless I reckon Rianna perhaps "re-acquiring" Dieredon's coin during the night is a good shout... [Perhaps with the company of her two buxom nordic cousins "Brynhildr/Bjorn" and "Scania/Skane" - courtesy of Ash's Disguise Self elixers?]

Male Moon Elf Fighter (Arcane Archer of Kyonin) 3; HP: 28/28; AC:14; Initiative: +3; Passive Perception: 12; Second Wind 0/1 (SR or LR); Action Surge 0/1 (SR or L); Arcane Arrow 1/2 (SR or L)

Not a bad idea....

Dark Archive

Still very sick. Gonna be a couple more days for me.

Get well soon man - missing Skane and Bjorn's interplay and banter.

Here's to a speedy recovery mate.

Sczarni

Missing you Bjorn. Get well soon. Please? :( *pout*

Sczarni

I must admit, I am torn. Rianna would not outright kill someone just because they took advantage of a situation. (Of course, if they took advantage of her, that's a different story.) But at the same time, this lot should not be allowed to continue to "steal" from travelers who need to cross the bridge. Like a bunch of trolls waiting to eat the goat. Perhaps we need to be the goat that was to big to eat.

male Human (Varisian) cleric 2

I still do not want to kill these gaurds but that is a ridcoulous toll too bad I am not high enough level to teleport with travel domain yet." But I did not cross the bridge I teleported across it. "

Male Moon Elf Fighter (Arcane Archer of Kyonin) 3; HP: 28/28; AC:14; Initiative: +3; Passive Perception: 12; Second Wind 0/1 (SR or LR); Action Surge 0/1 (SR or L); Arcane Arrow 1/2 (SR or L)

I agree that they stole from us, in essence. Someone needs to stay back with the caravan though.

[sigh] its pretty black and white in Skane's book... they stole from us now we steal it back from them... they used guile, we could do the same or carry a big stick (or axe :) Hel's teeth Ghafar is practically danging the carrot!

I did everything in my power to get them to front up at the bridge and they didn't take - think they'll surrender after we've bled a couple lol.

Curse Bjorn's illness...

Male Moon Elf Fighter (Arcane Archer of Kyonin) 3; HP: 28/28; AC:14; Initiative: +3; Passive Perception: 12; Second Wind 0/1 (SR or LR); Action Surge 0/1 (SR or L); Arcane Arrow 1/2 (SR or L)

I, for one, will certainly enjoy seeing how it turns out. I will be rooting for ya! be careful, with a little arm twisting, I may just be persuaded to join you.

Sczarni

I suppose I could sneak up and put them to sleep and then we could just steal back what they took.

That's the spirit :) - and any that don't fall asleep can get be bedded in the earth lol. (might revisit that turn of phrase in the game...)

Female Gnome Cavalier 2; Knight of the Shield

That was Betony's way of voicing my concern about the real brigand that might be out here..a handful of gp vs the wagons..We will probably stay as we were hired on to protect the wagons, but I am understanding of your ire and will keep watch here.

Mmmm Betony raises an interesting point guys... what if the guards are working in tandem with more powerful bandits? They check the caravans, take their toll - then pass on details of cargo/guards/etc...

While Skane is gung-ho... part of me is wondering if there is a greater threat waiting...mmm...

Hopefully Rianna's uber Knowledge:Local check might shed some light on this?

Betony worth you trying also?? Don't you patrol this region more often... although communicating her views will be in her typical fey way lol.

Male Moon Elf Fighter (Arcane Archer of Kyonin) 3; HP: 28/28; AC:14; Initiative: +3; Passive Perception: 12; Second Wind 0/1 (SR or LR); Action Surge 0/1 (SR or L); Arcane Arrow 1/2 (SR or L)

That was my concern, and why I was thinking that staying at the caravan may be a good idea. I think that if Countless, Bjorn and Rianna go quickly, then we should be alright with the remainder of the party here to handle an initial threat until you return. Never a good idea to split the party, but worth considering.

Agree Dieredon and I think it's a legit concern... not sure if Randall is dangling that carrot as a lure away from the caravans or to get our own back on the faux guards/or rogue guards depending on how this pans out...

Hopefully Rianna [and possibly Betony's] Knowledge:Local checks might net some more clues.

Bjorn is a lock for the night hunt as he can boon me and him [or his main squeeze Rianna lol] low light vision...

Rianna can make em slumber

Skane... well Skane has his own talents lol.

Whoa, whoa. Slow down there. Just because I didn't push the daunillur barbarian away from me when he "squeezed" me doesn't mean I want to bed him. I'm only 16. Besides, Dieredon smells better and has better manners and...

Skäne “Countless” Ingvârssonn wrote:

I can do this to you too. ;)

Skane & Bjorn:

daunillur=smelly

@ Rianna. lol - 16 and not to be trifled with!

Glad she and Ash are coming along on this little jaunt... need to keep the Northmen in check methinks.

Sczarni

If they don't fall asleep, I can always try to bluff them into thinking I came back to bed them. ;) And you can come and rescue me.

You guys are a bad influence. I can feel my alignment changing. Though the chaotic part of me wants my money back.

Sczarni

Thought I would post my Knowledge (local) information here, since we are in the midst of activity on the other site.

"If they did work for the Deeptown constabulary, they should have shown us papers. So there is a good chance that they are not official."

Mmm they may not be... but unless we sort em out quick this could get messy...

Best laid plans and all that lol

Male Hairy Highlander Halfbreed (ThirdSwede) Barbarian 9/King O' The North 5/Staffy Dad 7

This is a general question to the group and particularly those who've run pbp's...

I'm currently converting over two old 2nd Ed TSR UK classics The Sentinel & The Gauntlet and hope to run them as a pbp sometime later this year...

Any advice regards combat maps etc? I'm pretty happy with the bulk of the crunch etc, but this part stumped me a little...

I will of course give preference to those folks who I've played with before ;) In the meantime loving this game and learning alot about pbp from a great group.

Male Moon Elf Fighter (Arcane Archer of Kyonin) 3; HP: 28/28; AC:14; Initiative: +3; Passive Perception: 12; Second Wind 0/1 (SR or LR); Action Surge 0/1 (SR or L); Arcane Arrow 1/2 (SR or L)

Countless: If you are running them with Pathfinder Core Rules, etc., consider me interested!

Dieredon - yeah they will be Pathfinder rules, set in Golarion etc but will probably be a way off yet [summer at the earliest methinks - have a 3.5 conversion partially done from a few years back, so the foundations there] - will definately keep you posted :)

Male Moon Elf Fighter (Arcane Archer of Kyonin) 3; HP: 28/28; AC:14; Initiative: +3; Passive Perception: 12; Second Wind 0/1 (SR or LR); Action Surge 0/1 (SR or L); Arcane Arrow 1/2 (SR or L)

Very Good...know nothing about either B/C UK Classics. So, needless to say, I am intrigued.

Well, I really like the maptool program. It's free and you can plug in all sorts of ready made maps, sprites, tokens and what not. I learned it from the tutorials provided on the site. It's what I've been using currently. The difficult part is probably converting maps in the books to something digital, but you could always look around. Sometimes someone has already made it.

Raiding Party:

Guys am thinking of counteracting the Shaken condition for 1 round at least by charging our friend. Will take the AC hit later lol... however will hold off for an hour or so just incase Ash or Rianna have anything up their sleeves before I engage in melee

DM Randall, Dieredon - thanks for the input and advice guys - appreciate it :)

Dark Archive

Hey all! I am back. I was very ill and am only now back to work. (where I do most of my playing around) I am going to be posting to all of the games I which I participate so please bear with me as I try to catch up.

Thanks,

Drayen

P.S. I am placing priority here and one other campaign (the first I joined) as the most action is to be found. I will catch up in game and get my post in tonight.

Male Moon Elf Fighter (Arcane Archer of Kyonin) 3; HP: 28/28; AC:14; Initiative: +3; Passive Perception: 12; Second Wind 0/1 (SR or LR); Action Surge 0/1 (SR or L); Arcane Arrow 1/2 (SR or L)

Great to have ya back!

Sczarni

Welcome back, glad to hear you are feeling better.

Female Gnome Cavalier 2; Knight of the Shield

We was worried about you! <woof!>

Glad you're back man - time to dispense a little justice - Northern style :)

Hey hey. 1 month since the beginning. Time to do a reflection on what's what and such.

Current status
Party split in two. 1 non-violent encounter done. 2nd combat underway.

Players
I think every body is still accounted and present for.

GM policy
I will update at least once a day but strives for twice a day and more.
I will bot during combat if it is warranted, chooses low risk actions.
Likes to be reminded if I overlook certain things via spoilers and is grateful for it.

GM desires
Someone to take up the mantle of loot keeper. Suggests google docs.
To take the adventurers beyond when it is over. Maybe other modules, going for higher level gaming.
If RL takes you over then an update is very welcome. Dropping out without any notice is in bad form.

Now let's hear any suggestions to improve the game.

Male Moon Elf Fighter (Arcane Archer of Kyonin) 3; HP: 28/28; AC:14; Initiative: +3; Passive Perception: 12; Second Wind 0/1 (SR or LR); Action Surge 0/1 (SR or L); Arcane Arrow 1/2 (SR or L)

I really do not have any suggestions to improve the game. I was wondering if this is an actual module, or is it created by you, GM? I was under the impression that it was not a module. I think that the group is working well together, and the maps rock! I look forward to continuing!

Sczarni

Alright, I put together a Loot sheet. It's linked at the top of my profile page. Let me know if I need to make any changes.

Male Moon Elf Fighter (Arcane Archer of Kyonin) 3; HP: 28/28; AC:14; Initiative: +3; Passive Perception: 12; Second Wind 0/1 (SR or LR); Action Surge 0/1 (SR or L); Arcane Arrow 1/2 (SR or L)

Thanks for falling on the sword Rianna!

Female Gnome Cavalier 2; Knight of the Shield

Very nice table Rianna! Thanks

DMR- loving the maps. Yeah we split the party..but doesn't it always make sense at the time you do it. :-p

As to making it better..it seems pretty good so far. I will always post a hint here if I think of something helpful. Definitely a good group here, and would be nice to go long term if possible.

HI All

Game wise I've nothing to add that hasn't already been said. Am thoroughly enjoying all aspects - roleplaying is great, combats challenging (case in point what we're up to our necks in at the moment lol). Maps have been top.

Would absolutely love to carry on past 3 Days - think there's plenty of adventures to be had with this group.

Have had a pretty lean stretch in tabletop gaming over last few years so you guys have been a very welcome breath of fresh air, and I for one am loving my first foray into pbp :)

@ Rianna - great table btw.

If anyone's interested I've fired in an image under "How I see Skäne" on his background. Give you an idea of his true look outwith the Paizo avatar lol.

This was actually the second time we split the party in the same day.

As for the game itself, I think it is going really well. In light of your pulling this off in the midst of foot rubs and cocoa butter applications only makes it more impressive.

@Rianna - Great job on the spread sheet. Way to take one for the team.

Speaking of our current wee rammy this bandit leader is a tough s.o.b.

Am wondering if this fella is the Lucien that the prisoners spoke of? (Guess they can identify his body when we're done :)]

Good scrap though... could go either way lol
