Joan hasn't arrived yet, but I'll let you know.

Sczarni

I seem to be a bit distracted; gnomes underfoot, making a fair bit of coin, pursuing my own agenda whilst being a diplomat. But point made. Do not lose situational awareness.

Sczarni

Dead by double nat 1's Rogue by training, Machiavellian by temperment

Please clarify my perception
Were we heading down spiral, thereby have the upper ground on the dreaugar? (ya I never could spell this right nor consistantly, you'll get used to it.) This does have an influence on my negotiating believe it or not.

Hon

From the door there is a five foot wide and fifteen foot deep rectangular passage that leads to the spiral stairs up. The last part of the fifteen foot rectangle begins to spiral up the stairs so that person number four in line is on the stairs and lacks line of sight to the door. Numbers 4 and higher in line from the door are 'snaked' up the spiral staircase and have total cover from the door (and the door has total cover from them). There is no advantage of height at the door. Had this place been designed for defense, it would have easily been possible to put the door ten feet down the hallway so only one person at a time could get in the doorway with all the others stuck on the stairs.

Hope that helps.

Male Dwarf Fighter 4

My posting is going to be sporadic at least until July 23rd due to RL issues. I'll try to sneak in a post or two until then.

On the road to NC. Post tonight. Nar can act too.

I assume Kragg has Kib's spot. 1Hon 2Kragg 3Nar in sight of door.

Web grants no SR. Kib moving into hallway and using a wand met the readied action trigger.

In PbP readied actions with triggers may slow things down too much.
E.g. If the caster moves next to me I hit him, he does anything else I hit the other guy.

1) Any chance I can get an AoO for the Roarforge weapon draw? Not sure if it works when we are possibly back to back. No big either way.
2) Since Hon is sandwiched between two(three?) baddies, wouldn't Hon also be affected by the web? Hon reflex 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20 vs DC13.
3) So there is room enough behind Roarforge for Hon to face against two combatants? One of them now stuck in webs?

Hey, just a heads up, I'm going to be gone most of tomorrow, so no posting until late tomorrow night.

I also wanted to let you know that I'm still here, just waiting for my chance to reappear.

No need to put you in the crowded stairway, so I'll let you know when you can make your dramatic entrance.

I'm back. Trip took longer than I thought it would due to a really bad wreck on US 80. Two west-bound cars lost control and swerved onto the east-bound lane. It looks like both vehicles rolled and one of them was rally bad and it's likely that the driver in that one died. An officer came and told us that they were trying to get traffic flowing again and that this was the worst accident he had seen in a long time. When my mother asked him if anyone had died, he said, "We are still trying to determine that."

The scary thing is that could have been my mother, my sister, and I if we had been two or three minutes quicker on the road to see some family in Georgia. Please keep the families of those involved in your prayers. If you don't believe in God, then just keep them in your thoughts. Death is not an easy thing to deal with. It doesn't get any easier the more you experience. I know there are people in Denver morning right now, and I will keep them in my prayers as well, but I thought that you should know that I am okay and that my family and I are safe.

Don't want to clog up the play thread.
Just so we are clear: We are just removing the bodies(&clothes). Staging the gear (armor, weapons, coins) in such a way that they remain on post guarding a locked door. I say all of these because undead have no need. I suspect there is no shortage of weapons, a few more won't hurt.
Hon will close and lock door.
Backtrack to the eastern corridor, erasing tracks as observed, await the return of the bodysnatchers.

Male dwarf Ranger 4

Actually I was going with remove everything armor gear and all and worry about looting later at the surface so we can try another pay. This reduces how much they know about us and protects the gear from being used again. Have ou search and explore while the, bodies are removed to save time.

You da bossman. I'll turn off the lights and lock up.

That last post of yours, Hon?

Pure. Evil.

...
Sorry just letting you guys know I'm still here and waiting to rejoin.

As the dwarves go up the stairs, Joan is wandering the upper level and will meet up with everyone soon.

Yea! Joan is back!

I mean, oh, swell, the other human is back.

(but yea!)

You know we just converted this stealth mission to ambush, hit and run. Ideas?
1) Avoid easy targets, get behind the high alert lines
2) Feint, deflect, misinformation, bribe, blackmail
3) So much for diplomacy. My excuse? I was IC... And yes this will happen again. He is a nice guy what can I say?

Just one teensy, weensy, tiiiiiiiiiiiny problem with that.

Joan's back and she don't take too kindly to ambushes against allies and friends. :)

Holy Moly. Someone take away Chainmail's dice gen!

Yeah, now Nar's go three Dwarves on him potentially. and Joan's a Sitting Duck.

I will say this. Chainmail's encounters are by far some of the best I've had.

You can thank the old wandering monster table converted to pathfinder. I think APs have wandering monster tables too!!! Also remember this campaign was intended for jaded hack and slashers who wanted to feel the threat of death at every turn.

Also, to compare with the other groups before you. Half the groups begged Liselle to come with them--some successfully. Other groups used the Maul of the Titans from the treasure hoard quite effectively to 'unlock and open' the doors.

Sczarni

Dead by double nat 1's Rogue by training, Machiavellian by temperment

They used the Maul? How uncouth. I prefer the "leave no trace" method. If Hon had a portable hole, it would be brimming with bodies and evidence. Emptied at opportune times, of course. Don't think of me as evil, perhaps a "cleaner".

And FWIW, Hon is sensitive regarding facing his own death. He hates facing it.

Sczarni

For those about to die

Sczarni

Dead by double nat 1's Rogue by training, Machiavellian by temperment

I don't want to meta this but I think Hon would probably pick up the pace since he remembered possession of certain potions. And the sudden silence is not a good sign.

Plus hella funny. Nice grab there Hoss. Oops, I mean Hon.

A post, roll, and entrance like that has to do something. No one wants to run by that greataxe. But at least Gallak brought a greataxe to a greataxe fight.

Male AC: 4/0/4; hp: - 5/45; svs 5/4/3; +2 vs poison&(sp); 2/10 rounds Perform 4/8 Rounds Rage ; Perception +7; Init +0

The trick is to LOOK dangerous with it, even though Gallak has NO BUSINESS AT ALL being in a melee.

After this heroic stand, Nar needs to come up with a background.

Nevermind. The trick is to BE dangerous with the damn thing, regardless of what the numbers say.

Its a well timed roll of a 20

My numbers show a concentration check to defensively cast has less chance than avoiding two AoOs needing 17 or better to hit .8x.8=64% chance of getting through those.

Male Dwarf Battle Cleric of Angradd/4
Stats:
Hps 30/30 AC 24 FF 23 T 11 CMD 16 Fort +7 Ref +3 Will +8 (+2 vs spell and SLA) Init +1 Per +3

I need to roll a 13 on a d20 vs avoiding two AoO. About even unless you already know what you would roll. Plus seems more like what Nar would do in my head.

Looks like Nar needs to work on a background.

HP: 1/28 AC 17/13/14, SR: 10, F+3 (+4 against environment), R +7, W+3, Per:+12, Init: +3, Arrows: 13, Laen: 16, Healer's Kit: 10

Yep, if it wasn't for him, all of us may have needed new backgrounds. :D

Male AC: 4/0/4; hp: - 5/45; svs 5/4/3; +2 vs poison&(sp); 2/10 rounds Perform 4/8 Rounds Rage ; Perception +7; Init +0

Ohhhhh yes. A level of barbarian will do nicely.
*evil tittering*

Am I the only one that can open the map?

No, why?

Perhaps we're not understanding it properly though? Did Kib not have enough movement to get a bead on the hallway where the Cleric and Fighter are?

I don't actually see him on the map at all, so wasn't sure

Male AC: 4/0/4; hp: - 5/45; svs 5/4/3; +2 vs poison&(sp); 2/10 rounds Perform 4/8 Rounds Rage ; Perception +7; Init +0

It opens on my phone. The staircase is difficult to interpret, but, it looks like kib has to exit the stairs to the west before he has the angle, and he might provoke. Although, theoretically, you can cast from inside Nar's square, moving back at the end of your turn...[/OOC]

Gnome Fey-Blood Sorcerer/4 | AC 15/15/13 [19/15/17 with MA] +4 vs Giant type; HP 26/26; F/R/W 3/4/6 +2vs illushns; Prcp +4; Init +6;

also, did all our foes already take their aoo's this round? unless they have combat expertise of course

Male AC: 4/0/4; hp: - 5/45; svs 5/4/3; +2 vs poison&(sp); 2/10 rounds Perform 4/8 Rounds Rage ; Perception +7; Init +0

The fighter got one on magnum and connected for minimal damage.

OK, SR roll from Kib. From what I understand SR uses the caster level of the spell or, in this case the magic item. Caster level 5 for fireball wand is SR+5 for Spell Resistance. DC for a wand is 10+level of spell+bonus for min stat bonus needed to cast spell = DC 10+3+1 = 14 for fireball.

Gnome Fey-Blood Sorcerer/4 | AC 15/15/13 [19/15/17 with MA] +4 vs Giant type; HP 26/26; F/R/W 3/4/6 +2vs illushns; Prcp +4; Init +6;

Caster Level check: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24

That right?

That means they burn some

Male Dwarf Fighter 4

I can see the map but I can't see Khazad on it. I suppose he's still too far away?
