Atol Lem |

Can anyone use my Magic Vestment spell? It provides a +2 enhancement bonus to armor or shield. I can't use it anymore, can I help anyone else with it?
If not, I'll switch it out with another domain spell, but I'd rather use this one (the other is remove blindness/deafness) if it helps anyone.

Doctor Abner Svengalu Toffitt |

Not me.
Am working on updating the treasure spreadsheet. I've down some guessing about who kept what. Please double check and let me know if it needs adjustment.
Chris, we found a 'Periapt of Wisdom +2' at some point. The item creation rules actually allow for such a thing at a cost of 6,000 gp. I know Atol has been jonesing for a Wisdom or Cha boost... :-)

Doctor Abner Svengalu Toffitt |

I have added the sold treasure items from the cathedral, assassins and fire giant, and created one lump sum of all items sold.
16431.36
Did I miss anything? Was my approach grievously out of accord with the way we're doing the treasure tracking?
Still not added: any purchases that might have been made recently. Not sure to what degree that needs updating. I will do what I can to add Toffitt's. Please email / IM me with links to any purchases your PC has made.

Dyrant Maynor, the Pre-Sainted |

@Atol, RE: MV: It is unlikely that Dyrant or Aralynn will need the Magic Vestment.
@Toffitt: Will have an updated things bought list here tonight.

Dyrant Maynor, the Pre-Sainted |

Dyrant wants the Wand of Displacement (13 charges) and Wand of cure serious wounds (22 charges).
We should sell the Wand of Dispel Magic (18 charges).

Glimmil |

Am I reading everything correct?
Our share from "cathedral, assassins and fire giant" is 16,431.36gp?
The Google Doc has 18,342gp, not that I'm scrambling for more gold or anything, just trying to sort out the numbers.

Doctor Abner Svengalu Toffitt |

@Glim: There was some altering of who kept or did not keep what during the transfer over. I've made a few other corrections based on feedback here.
@Atol: I forget whether you'd expressed interest in the second ring of Counterspells that we found. If you don't want it, Toffitt definitely does.

Atol Lem |

Atol isn't sure what he'd do with the ring of counterspells to be honest. He'd probably do something foolish like put in a cure light wounds...
Finneas - please keep the boots. Atol can catch up (moves at a 30' anyway) or buy a pair of his own if he wants to later. It's probably a good idea...

Doctor Abner Svengalu Toffitt |

For the record, Toffitt did not command or even verbally request Blessing of Fervor. I was merely delaying because Atol sometimes likes to cast such spells at the start of combat, and Toffitt doesn't want to miss out if he does cast it. ;-)

Finneas Glenn |

Heading to PaizoCon from July 4th to the 8th. If last year was any indication I'll be unable to post until the night of the 8th.

Doctor Abner Svengalu Toffitt |

I believe Glim, Dyrant and Flinneas shall all be in Seattle. Say hi to my home state for me. I hope Mt. Rainier doesn't explode on you.

![]() |

I want to start up again this afternoon or tonight, but it might be tomorrow.
We had a Toffitt-brother sighting. Finn & Chris had meets and greets too.
He's funny and likeable...hard to be believe there is relation. :)

Doctor Abner Svengalu Toffitt |

Yeah, I can't imagine why he might seem more likeable to you, Painlord. Maybe once he gets to know you you'll see the similarities. :-p

Dyrant Maynor, the Pre-Sainted |

The City let me get a whole 3 hours of sleep before I was called into work. I'll start up tomorrow hopefully. Must've been as consolation for the screaming baby right behind me on my flight.
Were we on the same flight? I slept like a baby on the way down.

Doctor Abner Svengalu Toffitt |

Thanks much to Atol for being a great friend and helping me move tonight! What's more, he's even offered to come by again tomorrow and help! St. Cuthbert, get ready for your better!

GM_Chris |

I love that frequently when I search for an image some of our characters come up. When I looked for a picture of this dragon by its name--that you haven't even encountered before--five of the first seven images were our icons. It must be associated with Shackled City, and our characters must be highly associated with Shackled City. This time the images were:
The dragon
Glimmil's icon
A Shackled City banner
Dyrant's icon
GM Chris's icon
Atol's icon
Toffitt's icon

hehehe, thanks. You should have asked Finneas though. I have less upper body strength than my cat!

GM_Chris |

I'm either cheating or finally realized something others have long known. The benefit for flyby attack is: "When flying, the creature can take a move action and another standard action at any point during the move." Cleave is a standard action.
A quick check of the boards shows some agreement on this.
Baker thread
However, it doesn't allow Glimmil to be more broken as ride-by attack reads, "When you are mounted and use the charge action, you may move and attack as if with a standard charge." Ride by allows you to avoid AoO's though, which flyby doesn't. Ride-by vs Flyby

Doctor Abner Svengalu Toffitt |

Huh. It seems that there is an officialish rule on communal extracts & alchemistx that completely baffles me, but whatever. Sean K. Reynolds says it should unofficially be the GM's call:
Officially...
Alchemist extracts only affect the drinker. You can't split it up.As to why these spells are on the alchemist list at all:
(1) You'll note that the regular alch extract list includes water breathing, which is a communal-type spell, so there's a precedent for it.
(2) The alchemist isn't limited in the number of spells he can learn. So, if he wants to learn the communal version of an extract, he can do so--unlike a sorcerer, he doesn't have a fixed limit to his number of extracts known, and learning it doesn't keep him from learning other extracts later.
(3) Many of these communal spells are on the sor/wiz list, and the basic spell is on the alchemist list, so if Spell A is an extract and a wizard spell, and Communal Spell A is a wizard spell, Communal Spell A should be a extract as well. Even if it's not an efficient use of the alchemist's extract slots. Especially since an alchemist can translate a wiz spell into an alch extract if it's on the extract). Basically, if an alchemist never bothered to learn spider climb, but he finds a spellbook or formula book with communal spider climb, he should be able to make use of it, even though he probably has better options for his level 3 extracts.Unofficially...
If your GM is okay with it, there's no reason why an alchemist with the infusion discovery couldn't make an infusion of a communal extract, allowing multiple people to sip from it and apportion its effects. But, just like kissing sailors, that can spread diseases, so be careful.

Dyrant Maynor, the Pre-Sainted |

Sweet. Good combat, time for more exploration of the rules and shit.
Just wanted to clarify that the Alternative Summons, such as the 5th lvl Vulpinal Agathion, are not legal in Shackled City play.
I'm happy to make alternate choices, but they are Bestiary 2.
The reason it matters is that Dyrant would prefer to summon Good and LG critters and there are so few of them.

GM_Chris |

It's actually NG, but I guess that's closer to Dyrant's alignment then CG (the only level 5 summons that is good aligned).
I think you're just power gaming and trying to gain access to extra abilities and spells, but you're bluff check is pretty good. 8-P
I'm not ready to allow all the alternatives, but I'll consider on a case by case basis. You're fox almost broke my poor summoner last time.

Doctor Abner Svengalu Toffitt |

I will be busy tomorrow afternoon through the weekend playing Eyes of the Ten. My behated Gray Reek is entering the ranks of greats like Thorne the Greatest Mage in All of Absalom. Obviously, the Gray Reek is way better than Thorne, but elves always have been inferior to half orcs.

GM_Chris |

Doctor Abner Svengalu Toffitt |

Well, after a fantastic weekend playing Eyes of the Ten, I was mugged at gunpoint coming back from the train station. The officers who came by for a statement recognized your name, GM_Chris. Shaken, and totally can't afford this, but physically ok.
Luckily, I didn't have my laptop with me, but they got my phone and iPad. More importantly, they got my facial cleanser, toothpaste and chronicle sheets. Sad face.

Glimmil |

Howdy all,
We found a Cloak of Resistance after the last fight.
I posted some desire/intent to grab a cloak of resistance a few posts later, and was willing to take someone's "hand-me-down" cloak if someone wanted to upgrade their cloak, but didn't see any takers? Since Glimmil has Divine Grace, I'm not sure he needs the highest resistance cloak we've found...
If there's no objections, I'll start going with the saves from the cloak in this fight (+3), but afterwards feel free to propose a swap?
