Dyrant Maynor, the Pre-Sainted |
Uh, mostly. Some of us are sleeping in Vhalantru's lair both for our own safety and to better tend to the statues and the clues. Dyrant really wants to triage/prioritize the fixing of the statues as they might have information that will help the cause. Both he and Atol will be breaking enchantment, but we have limited slots for that.
Dyrant will be going to Greyhwak soon, that is correct, but it remains to be seen who goes with him.
Not sure who is going to Skies.
Doctor Abner Svengalu Toffitt |
That sounds right to me. If we could afford two scrolls of greater teleport, that would be even better, in terms of roleplaying the kind of urgency that some of us feel. For Toffitt, at least, every minute seems agonizingly slow right now. But of course that must be balanced against being well prepared.
Atol Lem |
Atol stays with Dyrant until the Greyhawk trip. He'll stay behind so Glimmil can go.
Question. Does Dispel Magic help here at all? Do we know what the painting is going to take? Or is it all Break Enchantment and Stone to Flesh? Just trying to plan my spells.
Also, as there's been a hiatus, I wanted to make sure Atol's trip to the church (link) doesn't get lost. Er, unless it's supposed to. :)
Doctor Abner Svengalu Toffitt |
Did anyone want to take the ioun stone (pink rhomboid, +2 Dex)? Seems like a great item for one of our melee combatants. Or maybe Aralynn would like a sphere orbiting around her magnificence.
Also, Toffitt's slippers of spider climb.

Doctor Abner Svengalu Toffitt |
I am a little unclear about the timing that folks are suggesting. Here is my understanding:
Day of Beholder Slaughter
- Go to Skie's to sell stuff
- Toffitt makes everyone panic. Er, I mean, Toffitt talks to certain leaders about evacuation
- Finn returns to temple and finds children
- Glim and Skie make whoopie, perhaps for the last time
Day After Beholder
- destoning
- Glim and Dyrant teleport to Greyhawk and shop
- Toffitt does more rabble rousing
- Atol does a sending and guards the Vhalantru manor
- Glim and Dyrant teleport back
- In Toffitt's ideal situation, the party sets out to Find the Path (any chance we could have bought scrolls of greater teleport to make this happen?)
Two days after beholder
- Or perhaps the party sets out this morning, Toffitt's hoped-for invulnerability greatly tested by panic attacks about Terrem's impending death.
What are other folks' understanding?
Atol Lem |
Day of Beholder
Atol guards Vhalantru's manor when he's not visiting his church. He sleeps in the manor that night with Dyrant I think.
Day After Beholder
Atol breaks two enchantments and chats with the victims.
He continues to guard Vhalantru's manor
I thought Dyrant was returning this afternoon, but according to his post, he's not. IF he's not, Atol will scribe scrolls for Dyrant at Vhalantru's manor that day while he waits.
Two days after Beholder
I'll have to do a post with fresh spells, etc. if we are not buying the scroll of greater teleport, but Atol's ready for whatever.
- - -
Scrolls Scribed for Dyrant (if no gr. teleport scroll purchased):
- Air Bubble (1) (12.5gp)
- Breath of Life (9) (562.5gp)
- Magic Circle Against Evil (5) (187.5gp)
- Remove Curse (5) (187.5gp)
(950gp)

This is where I have you. I'm going to bring everyone back together. It was fun exploring options, but I need to consolidate again.

I say take the easy route. At 14th level, it's gotta be hard enough just to juggle all of our abilities and the increasingly complex monsters. I'm sure Dyrant and Finn can keep us all entertained just talking to their various selves. :-) I for one feel no need to speak to every last snooty aristocrat.

I sense that people are enjoying the mayoral selection scene, but not overly invested in its outcome. There's no preordained result, so if the party would enjoy seeing someone in particular taking the position, they should push for it now. If not, I'm going to start wrapping up the scene and choosing a mayor one way or another, possibly by the dreaded die roller.
Dyrant Maynor, the Pre-Sainted |
No, Dyrant isn't interested in running the City...he would have no patience for meetings and there would be far too many drubbings of lords and lordesses. Plus, I'm fairly sure there would be some 'accidental' walls of fires and such during important events just to spice things up.
Now, if Jenya wanted to step up (down?) to Mayor and leave the running of the Church to someone more qualified...
He would also support a Dr. Toffitt administration. The good doc has always been a man of the people. The mummy people.
Doctor Abner Svengalu Toffitt |
Toffitt would institute single-payer healthcare. By which I mean, Taskerhill would be paying for everyone's healthcare.
Doctor Abner Svengalu Toffitt |
I would amend that to include Jenya and perhaps Maavu. My sense is that the party in game time can't work through all of the negotiations of building a government, and we could spend about two years roleplaying out such arrangements...
Atol Lem |
GM_Chris, I need a ruling please.
If by some chance, someone, were to die due to the Deadly Finish feat (link) - could that person be saved with Breath of Life (link)? Dr. Toffitt thinks not, and I have no strong opinion. I can see it going either way though I lean toward it working if I had to make the ruling (I don't see the feat as a 'death effect').
I though, you know just in case, I'd ask now. Regardless of your answer Atol would try it of course. He has no idea they are attacking with a rare feat that kills outright. Glimmil might make this moot, but it may come up again.

Here are the mechanics for the current events. The city is divided into 5 sections. There's a lakeside section and then the four pie slices: NW, NE, SE, and SW. The party is currently in the NW section. The party must earn points in all five sections through evacuations, problem solving, combat, etc.
