            You all find that the camp, as expected in relatively fresh, there is cooking flight of pigeons on their camp fire. The meat is roasting away.

            The opening is thick with webs but you can clear away the dense material that fills the openings. Hundreds of tiny spiders scurry around frantically. The fissure a rough opening barely 3 foot wide at the cave mouth, but it opens up slightly before it takes a bend to the left. You have filtered light to see that far but unless you move inside the fissure you can see nothing else.

            Kalim how is your HP status? Did you use any healing potions, in addition to those second wind heals?
As you move inside the fissure it is a tight fit, but fortunately, you are not burdened with bulky armor. The candlelight flickers and you can see the bend leads through a descending "S" pattern, which makes it hard to see further than 15 feet ahead. You come across another dense spider web area that burns away with an oily smoke when you touch it with your candle flame. Hundreds of tiny spider drop to the ground charred.

            Looking for a way to get at the orcs which does not include crossing a mile-wide killing field. Any way to flank, sweep, etc around would be grand.

            Desmond after scouting the area you mange to find a small path that leads down near the ruins, but unfortunately you'll still have 50 feet or so to cross of open terrain. You did not find any stragglers. You do report that you only observed two brute orcs standing ready with polearms and bows.

            "Would it make sense to try to draw them out somehow? Maybe a message that the human settlement is now protected will bring out the raiding party. Then it would be a matter of finding a way to make their killing field work against them. .. I realize there is considerable risk in that plan, but... we do need a plan."

            "Not so much tracking, as finding a means to engage without slogging across that," Karnog gestures to the flat, cover-deprived killing field presented at the front of the orcs' camp.
"Fifty feet? Perhaps a thrown rock or some similar distraction could buy us enough time to engage. I wish I held onto that silence spell now."
