Fahd unleashes a series of blows that take the life out of the snake and Tyranius finishes the beast off with his negative energy...
Darvik is visibly weakened and hurt after the fight ends. The room is a mess now with no apparent exit in sight except for the rope you have going back up....you now know the trap resets after about a minute and the fight did not take that long so getting up will not be too difficult once you are done here.
Fahd Bin Stavain PFS |
Perception 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
Please read the above spoiler to see what we found. I'm off to bed early and I'll be back on in the morning.
Darvik Willowbrook |
Darvik will now take the antitoxin that he had forgotten about previously. Rolling Fort saves for the poison at an additional +5 now. Have 5 rounds to make it.
Fort: 1d20 + 6 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 6 + 5 = 17
Whew. Hopefully that did the trick.
Wow, I should watch out for snakes more often.
Tyranius Bel-Baator |
Pulling out his wand, Tyranius snaps the end of it against Darvik's wounds.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 9/28
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 14/28
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9 23/28
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8 28/28
Tyranius weakly rubs the wand in the man's open wound until it is completely healed.
That poison will only make you stronger in the end.
Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
So close.
Tametomo Buruzuai |
"That was good work, Fahd." says Tametomo, bowing his head respectfully.
Looking at the stuff Fahd found, he states "Wares these thieves stole from the townsfolk. It is our duty to give it back to them."
Darvik Willowbrook |
I don't know, they look more discarded than stolen. Makes me wonder if the owners aren't too far from their belongings.
Fahd Bin Stavain PFS |
"I don't see any reason that we shouldn't use the magical wand at least. It might have been collected from a victim of the cult. Any more exploring to do? My magical strength is going to wear off soon, I'm afraid."
Tyranius Bel-Baator |
I can use the wand. The rest of you seem far more capable of fighting in close quarters than myself.
Tyranius says with a genuine smile. Fodder for my lord. No I must not think that way any longer. I must help my companions and strengthen the cause. Build a following.
Tyranius grasps the wand in a shaking hand.
Those Bless charges will come in handy
Fahd Bin Stavain PFS |
Is there anything else down there? Fahd will take 20 on Perception, looking for any secret doors, etc.
qwerty71 |
After defeating the large snake and collecting the gear the team looks around the room to see their surroundings. This tall chamber is broken into two levels. Loose gravel, dirt, and bones cover the bottom level, while a walkway traverses the upper level from east to west, leading from this room. At opposite ends of the room on the lower level stand a pair of gigantic stone statues, roughly carved in the image of Razmir, his hands held high to support the room’s ceiling. Each statue sits upon a pedestal with a large hole in its base that slopes down and out of sight. Chella would have minimal difficulty in navigating through the holes and short tunnels, while the rest would have great difficulty...and there is a foul odor coming from the holes Escape Artist check due to the confines You surmise this may be the place where traitors of failed initiates are sent...
apologies, had a hectic few days at work
Fahd Bin Stavain PFS |
"I don't reckon I can squeeze through that tiny tunnel. Any volunteers? Or do we go back up and look somewhere else?"
Chella Heireen |
Fist, Chella doesn't seem enthusiastic about going down the short tunnel but she finally changes her mind. She takes a shining silver wayfinder out of her bag and activates its magic (cast detect evil from the shining wayfinder to check the presence of any evil aura in the tunnel).
"I am willing to go down there if you tie me up with rope and pull me up in case of problems," she says if she didn't sense any evil presence. Once tied, she again uses her wayfinder (cast protection from evil on herself) and enters the hole.
Fahd Bin Stavain PFS |
Fahd was happy to be on the other end of the rope for once, and he gladly offered to pull the little halflings up, should she need it. "Sure thing, darling. I'll get out out of there lickety split, if you yell.
Darvik Willowbrook |
Do we really think this is a good idea? Darvik will volunteer to act as the anchor for the rope while Fahd lowers the halfling down.
Tyranius Bel-Baator |
There are a many things that could go wrong. Let's investigate some of the other rooms before we are forced to shove a Halfling back in a hole.
Pointing back up the rope. There was another door up top. Lets see what we can find in there first.
Door at T12 is the one Tyranius is speaking of.
qwerty71 |
The group lets Chella down one of the snake holes at the base of a statue and she sees regular snake lair items, shedded skin, bits of bones, and refuse. They pull her back up. She is mad at them for now she smells and is dirty. The group then beads back up the rope and stairs prepared for the trap that comes by holding onto the rope. They soon find themselves back at the top of the hallway with an option to try and figure out how to open the secret door Tametomo found or go to the door at T12.
Rye |
"We can try to see if this secret door is resistant to force..but that might break it and it will be obvious someone's been here"
(if noone objects to brute force, Rye will try to force his way through the door. Take 10 for 10+4, if that doesn't work..try take 20 for 20+4=24)
qwerty71 |
Trying as they might, Rye and Tametomo are unable to budge the secret door open. They do find a key-hole under a scone near the door. The only way they believe to get through this secret door is either by finding the key, picking the lock or beating the door down with tools.
Fahd Bin Stavain PFS |
"I say we head back up. If we have to beat the door down, everyone in this place will hear us. Im sure someone up there has a set of keys that we can take and head back down here."
Tyranius Bel-Baator |
Tyranius peeks around the corner. Turning his head he whispers to the rest. Psst. There is a door over here.
There is a door at T12 also. Let's open that one.
qwerty71 |
Tyranius checks the door to his front and discovers it is not locked. He opens it and inside discovers the room where the temple leaders store new initiates gear before they are considered trustworthy. There is a table where clothes and mundane gear is piled into a heap and a locked chest below the table. Tyranius detects the presence of magic coming from the chest.
Tyranius Bel-Baator |
Tyranius carefully picks through the belongings and places them back. Seems this is where they were storing our stuff.
Just as he is walking out of the room, something in his head tells him to turn back as a glint catches his eyes.
Bending down, his bones creak as he inspects the chest. Any of you open this? There seems to be some sort of magic inside.
Fahd Bin Stavain PFS |
Fahd grabs the lid of the chest and tries to wrench it from the bottom.

Tyranious:1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Tametomo:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Hidden behind some shelving on the southern side of the room is a concealed door.
Fahd Bin Stavain PFS |
Frustrated, Fahd looks around the room. Behind a set of shelves, he spied an interesting outline. "Look! There is a concealed door back here. I don't know if it was just forgotten or if it is hidden for a reason."
qwerty71 |
The door is unlocked if checked and opens up to a tunnel that is filthy, with puddles of stagnant and filthy water on the floor and grime covering the walls. Anyone who steps through here will most definitely leave a trail along the temple floor you all have been cleaning.
Fahd Bin Stavain PFS |
"Well, we are in too deep to turn around now," Fahd grumbles as he takes a step, leading the group into the nasty door.
qwerty71 |
Fahd:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
Chella:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16

Tyranious:1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Tametomo:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
As the party begins to enter the tunnel Tametomo sees evidence of what appears to be fire damage in the tunnel and lots of critters are scurrying around your footsteps as you walk.
qwerty71 |
You now know why they burn the tunnel; as you continue to move through it you detect a multitude of spiders, almost as if a swarm of them, seem to be converging towards the group. Since the others are behind you they do not see what you see...
Fahd Bin Stavain PFS |
"More spiders than I've ever seen! Turn around and clear the tunnel," he calls out, trying to warn the others.
After the warning, Fahd pulls out a flask of alchemist's fire and tosses it at the spiders.
RTA 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Damage 1d6 ⇒ 6
qwerty71 |
The timely and well thrown fire creates a fire in the tunnel which blocks further progress but does not completely destroy the swarm. Backing up and closing the door will block the swarm from reaching you though. The smoke from the fire will drift in the basement unless the door is closed as well.
Tyranius Bel-Baator |
Tyranius is always fine with the far back. He has little in the ways of protection
We will not allow mere insects to impede us.
Grasping his medallion of a pierced halo Tyranius releases a blast of pure jet black flame from his body that only seems to harm the insects.
Channel Negative Energy: 1d3 ⇒ 1
DC 20 Will save for half damage. If fail then they also catch fire
qwerty71 |
WILvs20: 1d20 ⇒ 18
and the spider swarm absorbs the negative energy which forces their bodies to catch fire...
is there a damage roll and are you excluding your teammates?
