Hi everyone... my problem is I don't know which characters will be available for GD6 yet.. so I can't say for sure what I'll be playing for now.
keeping fingers crossed, but major contenders depending on finishing current scenarios:
1st lvl wayang investigator
1st lvl ratfolk alchemist (probable)
2nd lvl ratfolk cavalier

Great Green God |

1st-2nd level?
Sensitive Former-Pit-Fighter Slave and Free-Range Savage (Viking 1 (might be 2nd by then))
Wizard Sea Reaver with Attitude (Viking 1/Water Wizard 1)
Assistant with a Noticeable Lisp (Promethean Alchemist, Chirurgeon 1 (might be 2nd by then))
Priestess of Mirth (Evangelist 2)
World-traveller and Free Spirit (Monk 1/Unchained Rogue 1)
Devil-hunter Who has Stared Too Long into the Abyss (Ranger 2)
Philosopher, Orator, Mathematician, Natural Scientist, Playwright, Engineer, Inventor, Satirist and Astronomer (Ki Mystic, Sensei 2)

Terevalis Unctio of House Mysti |

How effective would a water kinestisist be? I have ever played this class. Thinking either udine or aquatic half elf for flavor

2nd level Nagaji Skald. Into cultural exploration and percussive performances. Fascinated with the eating habits of various races.

I vote for Lauranna Cindel as we will be wanting a cleric if we go into a crypt. She's pretty kick butt too.

GM Redelia |

With six of you, you want at least on character in each of the four classic character roles. The hybrid classes could substitute for either of their parent classes, though. As an example, a level 2 investigator could probably fill the rogue niche. Just to remind you what the main roles are:
1. Fighter/monk/barbarian (any of the newer damage dealers would be fine, too)
2. Rogue (also ninja or investigator?)
3. Cleric (I think you do actually want a cleric, not an oracle here, because channel energy would be really handy)
4. Wizard/sorcerer (any arcane caster would be good)
That leaves 2 more to double up in a role or do something fun that doesn't fit any of the roles, such as a bard.

Lauranna doesn't actually get channeling until 3rd level due to her bardic abilities. I have other clerics but none of them of the appropriate level (0 xp newbies, or my sassy psychology major 3rd level Calistiran Hetaira).
Likewise, I have a few oracles (most with 0 xp and some connection to the Cthulhu Mythos), though there is one man who might be available (and 2nd level by then).

This is the character I would like to use. He is an unchained monk halfling. He has moderate perception and stealth, but no other rogue like skills. If I use him I would like to purchase a wand of cure light wounds with prestige and loan it to the cleric or oracle. Purnel uses a spear as a thrown weapon mostly to close, then switches to him sansetsukon for melee. He has a backup sling for range.
Trap finding and disable device might be important in this adventure. As long as we can cover those somehow, I think we will be okay if I use Purnel.
If no one else has those skills I could switch to a 2nd level unchained rogue halfling. He is a two weapon short sword fighter with a short bow for range.
Let me know and I will dot in with the rogue if need be.

Channel is nice but not that important to me. She does +4/2d6+3 and can cast CLW spontaneously. I'm also hoping we actually do carry on to the subsequent modules and she can get the more important things like cure blindness and lesser restoration.
In short, no channeling is not a deal breaker. Also, Syllyn's raging song really help a character like that when in melee.

Well.... She doesn't spontaneously cast heal spells either, more like she can spontaneously cast bard-like spells (specifically command; next level she gets fascinate). She has a fully-loaded wand for healing. And before you go and mention that clerics get medium armor proficiency and shields--. No. Just no.
I'm betting the guy with the lisp is looking pretty good right about now. ;)
I would bring my cleric of Cayden Cailean who's based on a cross between boisterous English actor Brian Blessed, and that huge, loud guy at the bar who slaps your back too way too hard, but he's CORE.
Then there's Zoot.

Loved Brian Blessed in Flash...
That wouldn't be bad, bad, naughty Zoot, would it? Loved that movie too...

GM Redelia |

I need to clarify my previous statement... I would strongly suggest at least one character who can channel positive energy.
It looks like Otha has settled on a character fitting the rogue role, and Purnel fills the fighter/other martial role. We still need a cleric-like character who can channel positive energy and an arcane magic user. That still leaves two characters, who can double up on any of the roles or bring other fun characters who don't quite fit any of the roles.

I'm not familiar enough with the class yet to answer this, unfortunately. If it sounds fun, I'm sure we could make it work.

With a name like crypt we will probably face undead. Holy water and bludgeoning weapons and slashing weapons might be important.
Purnel will get 2vials for 50 gold.

Ghosts salts on ammo and oil of bless weapon are other likely items.

From what I can tell, having only made one kineticist and that for a game that died after less than a month, the kineticists are pretty straight-forward blasters. They start with your basic blast 'spell' and add varying effects to it as they advance levels. There are very limited choices at low levels but the decisions become more profound as you advance. The have to make choices between things like expanding range/area of effect or debuffing. But it all boils down to being able to do a fancy blast with flexible add-ons.
Don't get me wrong, each type gets some interesting perks attuned to their element like flight or swimming or DR, so you DO get some flavor besides the blast, but the blast is the focus of the class.

We are holding for Game day VI, right? Is there an official kickoff time on the 25 of August? Are GM's given any leeway to start sooner? I participated in GD5 as my first PBP and got in at the last minute. So, GD build up is new to me. How does all this work?

I have been seeing that. In enough levels he can be like Iceman making slides to move around, lol.

I am not sure, I thought he wanted to start earlier but I could be mistaken.

GM Redelia |

It's for gameday, so technically we can't start until then. I'll look into if we can do some background type roleplay before the start date, though.
Also, if you have your character picked out, please dot into gameplay with your character (and then delete your post). That will include you in the list of characters and put this on your list of campaigns.

GM Redelia |

Just so we are all on the same page, I gather from what everyone has posted that this is our party:
Otha: Dylph Half-Orc Sniper (Rogue) 1: rogue
:Purnel monk 1: fighter/damage dealer
Terevalis: Lorqinor Brightcoral kineticist 1: arcane blaster
Miteke: Syllyn skald 2
Jaf0: unknown
Great Green God: cleric or oracle?
Is this correct so far?

Great Green God |

I think if you go to the character page you find that everyone but JAF0 (who probably still needs to see who will be free) has made a choice.

GM Redelia |

OK. Looks good. I'm a little concerned about the lack of channel positive energy, but at least a CLW wand is present, and that can be used in an attack manner. At this point, I think we're as ready as we can be until JAF0 knows his character and until the pdf of the module drops in my account.

![]() |

We will make it work I think.
Incorporeal undead things can be tricky too if you can't channel. Holy water splashes, kinetic blasts, and magic missles are useful for those. Magic weapons and spells that simulate them can also work.
Maybe I should get an oil of magic weapon too.

![]() |

A wand of CLW does a good job on undead like that too.

GM Redelia |

Kinetic blasts would impact incorporeal?
Yep, the description for kinetic blast says it 'counts as magic for the purpose of bypassing damage reduction' and then this FAQ shows that it will damage incorporeal creatures.

![]() |

I'm buying some ghost salt blanched quarrels with the proceeds from my last chronicle. That should help.

GM Redelia |

Looks good so far, guys. Hopefully JAF0 will have a level 2 character that's free that rounds out the party, because then the second half of the module which is written for level 2 characters will be reasonable. Syllyn, I'm not really familiar with the skald. Can you tell me what party roll you're build to fill? (I will obviously read up a bit before we start, this is just for my reference right now)

![]() |

A skald is somewhat like a bard but more military minded. His bonuses are to strength, not a flat +1/+1, so his performances are pretty useless to most, though at higher levels you may add very interesting bonuses. I would call him a weak front-liner/weak mage. Like most hybrids he does neither all that well, but gets some interesting perks to fill in the gaps.

![]() |

I wonder if the archetype in the new wat3r books will be available for pfs by the time we start or finish.

GM Redelia |

I wanted to let you guys know that I have my copy of the module and I'm working on getting it ready. We can't do much before the start day, but we will need to discuss how to make your backgrounds fit the module's assumptions. I want to do that in the few days before gameday starts just so that we start out on a good roll.

![]() |

Well, where in the world are we? I don't know anything about this module.
Purnel is a traveling architect who sometimes works missions for the pathfinder society. His brother introduced him to the society. However, that works into things.
Glad to hear they have given you the module well ahead of time, though.

Lauranna was kidnapped and raised by fairies for a while when she was still a child. She finished up being raised by the mirthful clergy of an obscure halfling deity of jests and joy giving her a strange perspective on boring old reality.
