Yeah, I thought about asking for a masterwork tool price, but 100 gp for more often used or valuable skills, which ride in this campaign is shaping up to be, seemed a bit fairer. MW Thieves tools (100 gp), alchemist kit (200 for the full lab or, portable, with a +1 bonus is 75 gp), forger's kit (200 gp), climber's kit (80 gp), are all skill-specific items that cost more than the 50gp masterwork tool. BUT, disguise kits and healer's kits cost 50gp (however, they have only 10 uses).

I'd happily pay the 50gp if a mw bit and bridle were made available though. I could even perhaps afford that now!

About the wand usage, that's cool that Magna can use them - I had always thought that Rangers and Pallys didn't get that ability until they hit level 4. That's a very nice perk, and if Magna wants the CLW wand, I'm happy for her to have it. I have lots of options from round-to-round to contribute to things as is.

The 50gp version is typically limited-number-of-uses, or for only certain elements of the skill.

I'd probably expect a "+2 to all ride checks" bit and bridle to be 100 gp too.

Magna tends to be in the front, with both hands occupied... so I think she is a poor choice to carry the wand...

Masterwork items like riding gear are certainly available. Especially on the frontier. The issue being he wouldn't have more than one at this point in the campaign. That limit would apply to just about any MW item.

Is there a group item you all want to start saving up for?

I've been out of the house all weekend too. I'll probably have some small personal purchases before we leave but I will need to find the time to look over Naralesh's inventory first.

Is there a count of individual gold earned? I haven't been keeping track - but I also haven't really spent anything.

Sorry to hear this, OGGM - hope you get well soon!

Thank you. Back in action, as it were...

So on the Planting Week thing. I want to try and build a sense that this - as Kingmaker - is about more than just gallivanting about being all adventurer-like. Let me know if you'd rather skip that sort of thing. I don't intend on overwhelming the campaign with it, just here and again to keep things in perspective.

I absolutely love it. I wouldn't have made a farmer who moonlights as a wizard if I wasn't into that sort of thing. :D

The broken leg is more an RP thing than anything. The HP dmg can be healed, obviously, and Pathfinder doesn't really have any rules for broken limbs. In 'reality' of course, any magic that can stick you back together after a giant hacks you for 40 points could probably fix a broken bone too. I just wanted to add some RP opportunity. After all, broken limbs are a real threat for explorers and outdoorsmen.

The home game I'm GMing for Kingmaker just made it to Bokken's hut, and my characterization of him was heavily inspired by your portrayal. :) They loved him - we have a young potion-making witch who seems to really get along with him and wants to learn from him.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Thanks Nara, that's the best compliment a GM can get.

I'm back, just having a little trouble getting the map together - not that that means anything is going to happen, you know, that would need a map or anything...

Talia, we have to make some map adjusts. There is a river, the Thorn river, that runs through the hexes you are exploring. I don't know why I didn't put that in before. Let me see if I can describe it in a way that will help.

Hex D3: the river runs thru D3 from D2 to D4.
Hex D2: the river runs from C2 and runs down to connect at D3.

That help?

LN Female (Brevic) Human Skald 6 | HP: 44/44 | AC: 20 (22 w/shield) ( 13 Tch, 20 Ff) | CMB: +8 CMD: 20 | F:+8 R:+5 W:+7 | Init: +3 | Perc: +9; SM: 13 | Speed 30 ft | Spells: 1st 5/5 2nd 4/4 Spell Kenning: 1/1 | Performance 15/15 | Active conditions:

Sure! I'll make the adjustments tonight!

So there are two forks to the river? One that goes C2-> D2 -> D3, and connects to the other fork, which goes:

D4-> D3 -> D2?

I figured having no ranks in geography would net me no answers on the name of the forest. Knowledge checks are the bane of the court bard. Good thing we've got Naralesh around.

No, the river is one line 'starting' at c2, curving thru d2 to d3 and exiting d3 where it will flow into d4. You would know from exploring that the river will be in c2 as well, I might as well tell you just to expedite mapping: the headwaters of the thorn river is in c2, at the northernmost part of the hex.

Once we get a good-sized chunk explored, I will get a shot of the map for you to compare with.

Great! As an aside, by my calculations, we've just about explored 25% or our chartered area! We're well on the way to ridding the Stolen Lands of all sorts of menace and lawlessness.

Once we're done with whatever happens at Oleg's, where do you all want to head off to?

Sounds good to me, Magna! We may need to drop off Asha at the temple though, on the way, or the way back.

OGGM, I really like the calendar. That's a great way to see just what we've accomplished.

I'm a bit confused about the hex referencing. I'm pretty sure it was talked about before but I couldn't find where. Do the letter coordinates go zig zagging down or go slanting down?

If we are dropping Asha off we could just explore the area west and north west of the shrine (no real reason but we would be in the area)

Starting with the hex letter (A, B, C, etc.) go southeast. The number is whatever runs straight across the hex, east-west. So, for example, Oleg and Svetlana's place is in F1. Bokken's house is in G1. Asha's temple is in C3, and the bandit's camp was in D3. I've added the locations that we know something about above the map as well, with the information for the hex located by reading up and down the corresponding columns at the top of the Google Spreadsheet (A, B, C, etc.) and the corresponding row downwards (1, 2, 3, etc.). So, for example, you can figure out the hex where we found the kobolds was E2 by looking up at the column header (E) and to the left of the text to the row header (2).

It confuses me and I designed it. There's probably a better way (labeling each hex occurred to me, that will be a lot more work on my part).

Also, OGGM has included the hex information (where we went, what happened) on our calendar, which I found really useful when mapping this last time.

As for the scouting, I'm down with whatever you all wish to do.

Huh, that's a good question. I think lower case letters will work well. I'll update it when I get home next week.

So lay out the plan once Asha is delivered. Where to from there? Check the calendar - which, by the way, isn't just for me. It's a resource for the campaign, and anyone can fill it out. Just remember there is limited space in each date.

We will have to wrestle with this, eventually the map will extend both left and right of the current map.
