Diamond Sovereign Juno |
Juno looks pretty radically different from Kiyomi; she looks several years older, has platinum blonde hair rather than black. However (as part of her power comes from notoriety and prestige) it is also supernaturally impossible for Juno to disguise herself, so despite looking like an entirely different person she is beyond a shadow of a doubt Kiyomi to anyone who sees her.
As for where the Shirakawas get their money, I admittedly hadn't thought that far. The suggestion of them working in the music industry is interesting to me; perhaps Kiyomi's mother is the one who signs your paycheck? That would definitely inject an interesting dynamic between our characters. :p
Also, question for the GM: what day of the week is it? Will characters who are of that age be going to school tomorrow morning or is it still the weekend?
BastianQuinn |
Established fiction only indicates that it was a school day yesterday, which means today could be any day but Sunday.
However, keep in mind that Japanese students frequently go to their schools on the weekend anyways for test prep and extracurricular activities.
That said, it's up to you guys. Either way, all of you have something planned for today.
Preposition, evasive statement.
Cloud Watcher Tenshi |
Yup, that's exactly what I was thinking. An 'Oh, crap...' moment. But the idea I'd had for 'tomorrow' was an interview for a job opportunity with your parents. Sadly, they are out of town. :)
Still thinking, though.
BastianQuinn |
That's two questions.
Unless you're saying your normal character was already on some prescription drugs, you haven't had the opportunity to see what drugs do to magical girls. Smokers and coffee addicts (addicts of all sorts, in fact) may feel the urge to use, but the effects of milder drugs would have been flooded out by the body's own chemicals during such a tense situation.
The second question is far more interesting.
To say anyone needs sleep would be inaccurate semantics. Your minds are the one thing that's untouched by your transformations so far, and the biggest benefit of sleep is, in layman's terms, pushing new information from short-term memory into long-term memory, and building or reinforcing muscle memory. You all feel the impulse to sleep, to sift through the night's memory and experiment with new concepts.
As far as the small benefits the body gets from sleep, most of you (Naiad, Juno, Tiresias, and Chell) feel physically refreshed just from the train ride. All but Hiro feel hungry, though Tenshi may have eaten, and Chrysanth just feels like she's been out for a brisk walk, and hasn't broken a sweat the whole night.
Does that answer you question(s)?
Does Mr. Silva have an addiction he would be seeking the comfort of in this situation?
Cloud Watcher Tenshi |
On the topic of Fate: Am I able to use Fate to adjust someone else's roll? Does Tenshi have to be there?
BastianQuinn |
You can give Fate to other players, and they can choose to use it, and if your character is nearby, you can roll to use magic to aid them, and use fate to affect that roll, but I think, since some players may be angling for Trauma Shifts, you can't use your Fate to change someone else's roll directly.
Diamond Sovereign Juno |
I'm pretty sure I've never made a character who has made so many bad decisions in such a short span of time. This is including outright antagonists.
Oh well, Suzu is almost certainly going to find out some things soon enough whether Kiyomi likes it or not.
BastianQuinn |
Introducing characters, establishing context, exploring boundaries, I don't see any mistakes just yet. So you have a... thing that hungers for magical artifacts. Is that really such a big change?
... Other than forgetting to establish lines of communication with the other senshi... That's going to be a bummer.
Oh, by the way, what are the odds your parents own any museum-grade artifacts?
Cloud Watcher Tenshi |
A spirit can be migrated from an object to another (though it's a traumatizing experience), but otherwise, they are absolutely and irrevocably tied to that object. If you can restore the sandal... maybe.
Otherwise... he dedd.
BastianQuinn |
From what I have read, Yokai are the manifestation of wisdom as it collects in an object or animal. It's one of the key differences between Asian and European lore: the idea as magic as either an internal or external energy. In Europe, magic creeps into the civilized world from the forest, where in Asia, magic seems to develop inside things and flows outward. Somehow they both result in creepy magic foxes.
Masterful Seer Tiresias |
So a few questions, since we are considering to be somewhere near the beggining of classes that means we are most likely in Autumn/Winter correct? Also, would everyone in the city know where the Shirakawa mansion is? I mean it's probably a big and impressive building, so people should know about it right?
Cloud Watcher Tenshi |
I'm more worried about Tiresias pushing those things into self-awareness, and their eventual revolution. :)
Masterful Seer Tiresias |
Oh, they're old powerful spirits, I'm sure they already reached self-awareness. Besides, a long as Tiresias provides them with... let us say benefitial arrangements, I'm sure they'll be cooperative.
On a totally unrelated note, do you think spirits feed on mana or they prefer whole magical girls?
XD
BastianQuinn |
I think I'll go ahead and say it's September 1st, the second week of the second term of the Japanese school year. Just so happens to be a new moon this year. The equinox will be on the 22nd, and respect for the elderly day on the 19th. Everyone should be fairly familiar with the Shirakawa estates; although, there are a few places to choose from. Juno might have let slip she was staying in the beach house.
Spiritual appetites come in many forms, as do their boons. Your Bakezōri fed off of the simple layout and cleanliness of your home, and in return it protected the house from what it considered undesirable spirits. It would be comparable to a Brownie or Domovoi.
Many Yokai take Joss Paper, AKA spirit money en leu of fulfilling their appetite.
Diamond Sovereign Juno |
I'm not sure if BastianQuinn is expecting a reply from me before advancing the Shirakawa household storyline or not? I kinda thought that Suzu would have heard the scream and shown up to react appropriately but maybe I misunderstood her positioning.
Cloud Watcher Tenshi |
Don't worry, Juno. Tenshi is an expert at Psychic Surgery. She has a 100% success rate!
as long as you don't mind becoming a bomb...
Cloud Watcher Tenshi |
At this point, Tenshi hasn't been adequately pushed to use her magic for anything. Her 'Trauma' is in line with not even knowing whether she helped or hurt the situation, she only has guesses.
As a result, she's significantly less likely to simply reach into her bag of tricks to change something, unless someone explicitly requests it... or unless something threatens significantly more trauma.
Also, she's getting an umbrella. :)
I'd be happy to meet up on any scene.
It makes sense for her to have the school interview even though it's a saturday, based on my limited understanding of the Japanese School System. This means she could reasonably run into Dedric (if he changes back), Chrysanth (If she goes to school for a club meeting or the like).
It makes sense for Juno's family to be in control of her contract, and for her to have been either recognizable... or 'creepy-stalker-level-look-alike'.
I don't have an easy tie-in with Naiad's character, though they'll also be full-on tourist mode... maybe. So it's easy to bump into them.
Finally, Chell/Tenshi are easy connections.
:)
Masterful Seer Tiresias |
Well Tiresias won't be changing back anytime soon. She was however planning to use this day to track down the other magical girls, collect contact informations and spread the incantation she got. After she wanted to find their 'Tsukaima' who she suspects is the crow that gave them the poem... So magic for all the tracking and I could pop in any scene if you'd want me there of course.
Cloud Watcher Tenshi |
They must be the girl that came from the tentacle creature.
With a perspective like that, I'm surprised my character wasn't grilled more. :p
Masterful Seer Tiresias |
Tiresias was more than preoccupied at the time, with the tentacle thing and the portal and all that. I'm sure she'll debrief you eventually if she remembers it. Although she did find it suspicious how she kept trying to get away as the other girls were fighting the thing.
Cloud Watcher Tenshi |
Congratulations to Chrysanth, Inheritor of the campaign's first gold star! (500 posts!)
