Hey guys, I've played a couple pbp games now, so I figured I'd step up and give running a shot. I'm an experienced GM, but this is my first time running pbp, so have patience if things are a little wonky at first.
I'm running Weapon in the Rift, which is a scenario for characters levels 5 to 9. It also contains an opportunity for members of the Silver Crusade to further their faction's goals. I'll be taking up to the full 6 people, so feel free to sign up below. When you do, please make sure to have a character sheep linked somewhere on your character's profile.
Lastly, this scenario has a hard mode. Hard mode is a completely optional setting for the scenario. If everyone wants to, you can vote to play the scenario in hard mode, which generally has the effect of raising the CR of all the encounters by 1 (via adding mooks, advancing the enemies, and so on) with the exception of the last encounter, which gets beefed up even more. Note that hard mode doesn't given any extra rewards, just extra challenge. I'll take a secret vote when the game starts, and the vote needs to be unanimous for hard mode for it to activate. If anyone votes no - there will be no hard mode. And don't worry, even without hard mode, this scenario is plenty tough.
If have no clue about if you're ready for the challenge, I can help you gauge whether or not your character will be ready for it. (Obviously I won't tell you about specifics in the scenario, but I can help you gauge how powerful your character is.)
Let's do this!
Hello,
i can field a level 9 oracle (this guy) or a level 6 magus (alias is on this board also) and i look forward for the extra challenge...
Wreck should be level 8 or 9 by the time the scenario starts :)
Have a look and tell me if my guy will work for it
Thanks
I'm in! I've got a few characters I can bring depending on tier and party makeup.
Hi ! I have also some characters able to do this scenario :)
As the other player see fit, I'm ready for playing hard mod !
I'm mos def interested! Oswin here is a cleric of Iomedae, and after kicking demon can in The Wardstone Patrol would love another crack at the Worldwound border area. He'd be 7th level after his current game (with Endless Forms) is over.
I'll have to convince EF to delay starting Shadow's Last Stand, though!
And let me be perfectly open and up front - I have read this scenario, as I was slated as a backup GM for my local group - I didn't run it though and I am good at keeping PC and player knowledge separate. That said, I've seen what hard mode does to this one. Not impossible, but it really does make a difference.
Level 9 Dervish Dancer reporting for duty, though I may have an Inquisitor 6 (Silver Crusade, even) if his PbP ends before then. *looks at Endless*
Well if you'd like to run a second table or have a drop out, I'd like to play. I have run it before and Hard Mode is not false advertising. Especially in the final encounter. I have my super-cleric 8.
P.S. Hey Algar, Xantrian, Henry!
Yay Ilmakis, DM Red, Xantrian (well you know my character in fact..) i still have to do some shopping around after the Siege and the Waking rune...
Lot of familiar faces here! Henry won't be coming along, he's still level 4. I haven't played him in a while.

Wow. That was quick.
I could definitely be convinced into running two tables if there was enough interest. Let's see who we've got so far:
1. Algar Lysandris, Oracle 9
2. Wreck, Fighter 7 (8 or 9 by start)
3. EndlessForms, Something (I count 4 different characters on your profile?)
4. Ilmakis, Something
5. Oswin Durnhelm, Cleric 6 (7 by start)
6. Quinn Kouniashi, Dervish Dancer 9 or Inquisitor 6?
7. Amazing Red, Cleric 8
Algar: Heh, you'll be turning into something besides a fungal nymph this time, right? :p
Wreck: PM sent
Oswin, Amazing Red: Thanks for letting me know you've read it. Obviously there's going to be one scene where I'm going to ask you guys to step back unless the party's having trouble (it should be obvious which one I'm talking about). If you think I'm running something wrong from your memory of the scenario, feel free to PM me. I would rather mistakes get caught.
Should we be polling for Hard Mode?
Any suggestion Xantrian? :)

You guys go ahead and discuss it. As I said in the opening post, the official poll is going to be via PM when the game starts.
Hey Xantrian can i get my pm too? :)
(i am obviously going to Nightmare mode...)
I have two characters, a fighter/rogue and an arodenite cleric. 6th each. I could also play a bard 5th.

In tier? That sounds about right. Total? Way more. Not sure if all of them are up to date though, but I know I've got a few in tier.
I have also GM'd this one. But I've also GM'd just about everything and I'm pretty good about letting those who haven't played figure things out on their own without any meta gaming on my part.
Also, I'd prefer not to play hard mode.
Discussion over, hahaha. No hard mode it is.
Yea, of course. I usually don't metagame too much. But in that [redacted] part, you may want to check the GM thread on it.

Good. That part was a little confusing for me.
Well it depends on the table dm endeless form sits in.
There will probably be 2 tables of this
Hmmmm. With my current luck with the dice roller so far. I'm unsure.....
Hey hey hey Boron. Don't worry i am here :)
Think of it as a chance for more training (or a chance to redeem yourself)... mouhahaha ;)
Boron is undergoing Retraining. He still needs to swing that axe of his a few hundred more times..... :(
Nothing beats danger and having to survive and triumph hard move...
Come around and participate :)
If another character is still desired, I have several options:
Cavalier/Fighter/Monk 6 (defender)
Ranger 7 (switch hitter w fav enemy: outsider(evil),undead)
conjuration themed Sage sorc 6 (currently in game, may be done)
Cleric of Abadar 9 (currently in game, likely to be done)

Sweet - we're definitely up to 2 games of 4 right now!
Tangaroa - your name looks familiar - have we played together before?
You GM'd on several Maptools (maybe roll20) games for me, Iammars (I don't recall if I ever ran for you). Lithuan, Nbarg, Davoliznakamushka, Nahlah bint Alima are character names that could possibly ring a bell.
I too have 2 players in this level..
Inquisitor of Gorum 8 and a Kensai Magus 9.. I should be able to play either by this date..
I'm glad EF said it, but I'm not big on hard mode myself. That said, if we get two tables one could certainly go hard mode and one could not.
I would be willing to do it if I had a level 7 in the 5-6 subtier, but no way if my 7 was in an 8-9 game.
Thinking about how my characters have fared as of late, I'm starting to think no hard mode for me, either, hahaha.
Would you mind starting threads for the games, so we can split tables and dot them for future reference?
Still have room for another?
Cavalier 7 (Honor Guard, Strategist)
Well, I believe I'll back out of applying. I suddenly have too many games on my plate and I don't wish to get overwhelmed.
Pathfinder Starfinder Adventure Path Subscriber
Fair enough. We're still at 8 people then. Sir Terramor - you're on the list.
How's our level spread? Looking at the list, I'm seeing a lot of 7-9. Two tables of 4 maybe, one hard mode the other not?
1. Algar Lysandris, Oracle 9
2. Wreck, Fighter 7 (8 or 9 by start)
3. EndlessForms, Something (I count 4 different characters on your profile?)
4. Ilmakis, Something
5. Oswin Durnhelm, Cleric 6 (7 by start)
6. Quinn Kouniashi, Dervish Dancer 9 or Inquisitor 6?
7. Amazing Red, Cleric 8
8. Sir Terramor, Cavalier 7
Hi, I have had one player express interest in 'Weapon in the Rift' in a recruitment thread that I put up; rather than have him miss out (since you can't run for one player), would you be happy for me to direct him here? With two tables to choose from, there should be room for him ;-)
I believe that was me Luke.. I already posted over here that i had 2 in this level.. An 8 Inquisitor and a 9 Magus.. Thanks though!
I've got a level 7 Tetori Champion of Irori who may level to 9 before this starts and a level 9 wizard who is currently in game but will likely be free by the time this starts.
I have a 7th (fighter/rogue) and a 6th (cleric) I'm ready to play hard mode with my 7th
Hard mode. When do we start?
GM, can we get the Gameplay thread up for dotting purposes?
I was the other player in Luke's other thread. I have a fighter (viking) 6/horizon walker 3, and a cleric bard 7. assuming there's still room, of course.
Pathfinder Starfinder Adventure Path Subscriber
All right, I'll get a thread up tomorrow and look to dividing people up as well.
If you still have room I would like to bring my Lvl 9 Sorcerer. His name is Mr. Madison and has a few quirks. He considers himself an negotiator and has never directly caused a hit point in damage, he can however be very persuasive and almost always gets his way with or with out magic.
I would certainly be open to hard mode.
