Dead Suns:

Compare shop. I think he wants to compare spells so you dont get duplicates.

(We're all brain dead over here. Temperatures have skyrocketed and we've both been loosing sleep)

Sovereign Court

I think he means compare spellbooks with Vitro. Who already has Crafter's Fortune IIRC, because he's a jeweler.

I'll be doing a small bit of rejiggering. Really just 1) heavy shield and cestus gives way to buckler and dan bong*, 2) shifting the Weapon Focus feat from cestus to unarmed strike (since I no longer will have a cestus), and picking up Improved Grapple.

*Every time I hear that name, I imagine it's the drug paraphernalia the guys from the movie Half Baked would use if they were playing Pathfinder.

M Large Canine Level 3 druid

Justin put in for a crafter's fortune scroll even filled it out in triplicate. Moot point if Vitro has it though.

Dead Suns:

Oh yeah. I totally forgot. Brains?

Sovereign Court

I put the character together rather slapdash in a hurry, and didn't feel like coordinating spell selection at level 1 with someone I've yet to meet. Level 2 is a different story though :P

OTOH, we haven't really made a lot of money have we?

also, you click on Vy and youĺl see his spell list. It will stay like that till level 4

Not really, whats the going rate on slightly used dogslicers these days? (may have more tommorow after the meeting with the mayor)

Dead Suns:

That's the crux with goblins. They have NPC loot. Technically. But as they are goblins, its next to useless.

Unless you're into pickled slugs. Then you're in luck.

Regarding crafters fortune: The mayor would have caught that and send the forms back with some nice red line-trough. She's good at her job.

M Large Canine Level 3 druid

well fine, if she doesn't want the people building the walls to go faster , i have expiditious retreat as a back up...

Sovereign Court

I'm trying to decide whether I want to go for Eldritch Knight or not. Alexander's been demonstrating that wizards can do just fine in melee, but I dunno. Losing two caster levels is painful.

Sovereign Court

I'm also trying to remember just what we know about Nualia.. I dunno if I was with the party when that was discussed.

Go for it, just one more target for the super buffs once justin gets going.

Bethana raised four kids. Cant fool her.

M Large Canine Level 3 druid

1st level: 7 Enlarge person, reduce person, Grease, vanish, expeditious retreat, mage armor, magic weapon

He's started working on ant haul (that will be one of his free level up spells) and if you have liberating command he'll be up late teaching himself touch of the sea.

Sovereign Court

I haven't picked my new spells yet. I'm actually considering going arcanist as well, but with a focus on ray spells. I don't think eldritch knight is really going to work out for me.

M Large Canine Level 3 druid

ready for morning here.

I am alive, I think. I am now going to try to catch up with 125 posts in gameplay, and then ask if you'd like to replace me. I have been the worst player ever.

So you guys are Level Two?

Hmm

Brawler 3 (Mutagenic Mauler) HP 26/28 | Init +5 | AC 20 (T 15 FF 16) | CMD 22 (grapple 27, trip 24, BR 23) | F +6 R +8 W +4 | Per +7 (+1 vs. giants), SM +6 | Darkvision | Effects:

If Woran didn't ditch me I suspect you're pretty safe, y'know?

There is that. Woran is pretty darn loyal. And she knows that my brain got eaten by Cosmic Captive.

So... We get to level up. Whoo! When are our second level characters due?

Hmm

M Large Canine Level 3 druid

it's alive!

so. many. overdue. headsmacks...

The boys were left unsupervised. Until the end anyway...

Dead Suns:

I knew cosmic captive was eating your brain. Not only is overseeing a special hard work, this particular one is extra hard with all the moving parts.

I've GMd it in real life and its cool but a real strain on GMs.

Your lvl2 characters are not due yet. Id say there is a hard line when you get back into combat, but untill then no rush.

But should we/can we make the update if we're ready? And what do we do for HP? Roll? Take the HD's average? None of the above?

Dead Suns:

Oh you can if you're ready. It just means less pressure on Hilary.

You can choose to either take the average + 1 (if you are a HD8 class, you get 5HP), or you can roll it.

You can pick, but no take backsies if you roll bad :P

(you dont get stuck with a choice, next lvl up you can pick between average and rolling again)

Sovereign Court

I've definitely decided on Arcanist, focusing on rays. I'll try to rebuild to something sensible soon.

Brawler 3 (Mutagenic Mauler) HP 26/28 | Init +5 | AC 20 (T 15 FF 16) | CMD 22 (grapple 27, trip 24, BR 23) | F +6 R +8 W +4 | Per +7 (+1 vs. giants), SM +6 | Darkvision | Effects:

I'll take the average+1 of 6 for Oskar, and I'll start updating his sheet.

Ascalaphus, good idea about making trip the other +CMD.

Justins mental shopping list:

0.5 One pound of tobacco
1 One pound of cinnamon
2 One pound of ginger and pepper
10 Explorer's outfit
4 One square yard of linen
5 One pound of salt
10 One square yard of silk
5 spare component pouch
1 Holy symbol of Abadar, wooden
0.3 Peasants outfit x3
10 10 durable blunt bolts
44 4 sets of stink ink spell writing supplies (use whatever oskar dipped his elbow in as a component)
5 Food for Bitey
1.5 15 days food for justin

98.3

Took the average HP.

SPACE GOBLINS!!!

M Large Canine Level 3 druid

justins xbow was apparently light, i was running it heavy that last fight.

Dead Suns:

You cay pay the difference out of the money you've earned now if you want a heavy. If not, no harm done.

M Large Canine Level 3 druid

I'll do that. Small crossbows are better but large crossbows are funnier to fire while reading directions.

.... looks like justin's keeping the skirt. No adventurers outfit, drop biteys food down to 2 gp and make it 10 days of food for the rat. Other rat. the smart. rat. The other smart rat...

Dead Suns:

Who was bitey again?

M Large Canine Level 3 druid

His Riding rat / pack mule.

Dead Suns:

Oh yeah, in the stables.

I got confused because I thought you nicknamed one of the goblins bitey.

Sovereign Court

I got to researching the arcanist and noticed the School Savant.

Currently I'm an Earth-school wizard which means Air is my opposed school. Would you allow me to go Earth-arcanist with Air as my (only) opposed school?

(The loss of the 1st-level exploit is annoying since it means I can't take a familiar. But I like the earth theme.)

They were Rozencratz and Gilderstern.

*ponders starting a dramatis personanne list..*

Dead Suns:

Not a bad idea. I've been having a headache on and off all day and it really interferes with my thinking.

Scarab Sages

Why not drop necromancy as well?

If you take the same list of opposed spells, sure. At low levels you give up a lot of good spells to make up for the power.

Sovereign Court

Hawkshaw wrote:

Elemental wizards drop only the opposed elemental school (there are only 4 classical elements vs. 8 classical wizard schools).

Also, dropping necromancy would be devastating to my theme.

*ominous chanting*

It's a meaningful sacrifice but one I can live with. It's annoying that arcanists can't get the oh-so-sweet Opposition Research of course.

Dead Suns:

The high level spells you give up are very situational, but things like lightningbolt and fly are real stapels of the game. With Justin being the only other arcane caster, you will be reliant on him or things like scrolls. THat's a very meaningfull sacrifice.
