Hope you get better soon.

GM, if you put a link to the slides in your header then everyone is more likely to be abe to find the maps.

Dead Suns:

I have converted into a slime ooze.

How do you keep your header clean? If I put a map link there, it will show up for everyone I post, so also for my other game. How do you make them look nice so people dont mistake them?

*this lack of vocabulary is brought to you by concrud*

"Doom Girl" // ♫ // ◇ ◈ ↺ // PbP Events // // PbP GM Kit // Silver Bark Golden Blades Map // ★ DA Duology Maps

Note my current headers ^

I have them labeled by game, and separated by //.

When I have multiple files for a single game, as I did for Murder's Mark, I also include separating dots, like this:

MapsChak's NotesMurder Case FilesNPC Codex

I use tiny url so that all the links fit. The header is pretty clean!

Dead Suns:

Sorry for not posting. Running real life in combo with the con crud took a lot out of me.

At least we have the quote of the evening: 'Disco rave party tentacle'.

Dead Suns:

Just to explain: having you summarise the plot is twofold: First, we had some slow parts, and having your character narrate it to another makes sure the plot is fresh for you.
Second, I get to see how you have experienced the story, and if there are any holes in your understanding of the plot, that I can remedy.

PbP is cool, but you miss social cues, so its easy to mistinterpret a plot point.

Sovereign Court

I'm still getting the hang of PbP a bit. Had an exhausting weekend, but back again now.

Sovereign Court

Mechanical questions:

1) Are we using Background Skills? (I'm in favor.)

2) If you take both Magical Knack and Lore Seeker, and take two levels of something that don't advance your spellcasting, does MK take you up to [level] and LS to [level]+1?

Dead Suns:

1) yes

2) If you multi-class, Magical Knack keeps your caster level on par with your hit dice (if you dip not more then two levels). Lore Seeker gives you three spells that function at caster level + 1.

I'd say Lore Seeker works for those three spells as long as you are a full caster, but as soon as you take a dip, Magical knack takes over.

Its an interesting question. I'd need to think about it some more.

It's American Thanksgiving, and I'm hosting. If I'm quiet for the next two days, that's why.

Hugs to all
Hmm

Dead Suns:

Have fun everyone! Lots of love :)

Dead Suns:

I'll be playing pathfinder the whole weekend. Let me know when you thanksgiving food coma has wore off, and I'll start the narrative.

He's been eating harpies again. I can tell.

I'll try to get another post up soon.

Hmm

Dead Suns:

I am also impressed by your sleuthing (vitro is on a roll)

Sovereign Court

I'm trying to nail down his personality as an Earth-wizard insensitive clod with high int but low wisdom. Fortunately I have some RL skills to draw on in that regard :P

We are not a high wisdom party!

Dead Suns:

Not high wisdom parties are fun!

Anyway, I survived my weekend of gaming! Whohooo!

well, you do have the wisdom not to sleuth this in front of Snowflake

M Large Canine Level 3 druid

Justin had the wisdom to sleuth it in front of snowflake and immediately get a meatshield..

Sovereign Court

Vitro gets lessons in social norms from Gossip, such as "discuss people behind their back".

1 person marked this as a favorite.
Dead Suns:

Talking about familiars... During this weekend play they learned my Riddywhipple gang signs and knitted him a small Ali G hat.

Dead Suns:

Snowflake told me it wasnt clear what was expected of you. My aplogies.

The meeting is twofold: giving you information about the goblin tribes acting up (no surprise there), letthing you know the sheriff will be out of town, and the request for you to stay in town.
And for you to be able to ask Shalelu questions. You can do so now, and she will be in town the rest of the day, in case you remember something later.

If you have no questions for the mayor or Shalelu, you are free to leave, and discuss this on your own.

Scarab Sages

Male Ratfolk HP 42/42 | AC 19 T 14 FF 16 | CMD 10| F +4 R +4 W +5 +2 vs disease | Init + 3 | Perception +0/ +10 with scent I Speed 20 Ft

The ratfolk rumages around in an old potato sack and takes out some cost estimates done in triplicate, on the back of an old rusty dragon menu, a flyer of a galtan revolutionary, and the wooden placard of cayden calden.

The materials cost is dead on, but he hasn't included labor. He's also snuck 25 gp forsending out to a larger town for a scroll of Crafters fortune, and 10 gp for ink. After looking at the elven wizard, he scratches out 10 for ink and writes in 20.

Dead Suns:

Snowflake got a bug and spend most of the night tossing and turning and making friends with the toilet, so dont expect a post from him.

I might be a lot worse at picking up cues for a while, as I get dysfunctional very quickly if I dont sleep right.

So if you want me to kick the narrative, let me know.

Sovereign Court

The back and forth chitchat is fun, but don't be afraid to kick it forward a little, we can "walk and talk".

M Large Canine Level 3 druid

yay! westwingi..damn my 20 foot move speed

Dead Suns:

Ok, just remember that if you have questions regarding the goblin tribes, Shalelu will leave tomorrow morning in game.

Meh. goblins are goblins. you kill them till you run out of goblin.

Dead Suns:

I wanted to kick off the next day, but my enemy, the snot monster has returned, and is again trying to push my brain out trough my ears.

Which sucks, as I have to run a real life game tomorrow.

I hate the snot monster.

M Large Canine Level 3 druid

The snot monster hates whiskey...

"Doom Girl" // ♫ // ◇ ◈ ↺ // PbP Events // // PbP GM Kit // Silver Bark Golden Blades Map // ★ DA Duology Maps

Get sleep... Take care, Woran.

Hmm

M Large Canine Level 3 druid

I like how this conversation gives you the idea that, as short as it was, Justin's childhood was pretty interesting....

Sovereign Court

Are there any adventurers whose parents haven't met a horrible end? (I'm just as guilty)

"Taj" | Female Peri-Blooded Aasimar Swashbuckler | HP 12/12 | AC 15 T 13 FF 12 | CMD | F +2 R +5 W +0 | Init + 3 | Per +4, SM +2 | Speed 30 Ft | Spells: None | Active Conditions: Magic Weapon

My characters tend to have families. Look at Taj. Her dad is here. Her mom isn't mainly because she's a Peri and they're rather flighty as angels go. She had her kid, and now it's time for the humanoids to raise it. My characters also tend to have adopted family members -- like Snow!

Family can add all sorts of dimensions to a character and their backstory.

That said, I am thinking of dropping this game. Between GMing multiple PbPs in January, and switching to the Online Venture Team, I worry that my personal bandwidth is getting kind of limited. I think that for my sanity's sake I'm going to have to drop a couple of the adventures I've been playing. Since we're still in Sandpoint, maybe this is a good time to drop Taj.

She's been talking about adopting an orphan. Dad is here and the town needs protecting. Maybe she joins the local guard and becomes an NPC, but doesn't travel with you guys when you go goblin hunting.

Hmm

I think pooring whiskey in my ears will be a bad idea

Also: noooooooooooooooooooooo Rataji, dont leave me :(

M Large Canine Level 3 druid

NOooOOOOOooOOOO

ooOOOohhhooo

oooo

cough

Sovereign Court

I'd understand if you left for your own sanity, but it would be a big loss for us :(

M Large Canine Level 3 druid

also the loss of all remaining sanity

Dead Suns:

We did not have a lot of sanity to begin with.

"Taj" | Female Peri-Blooded Aasimar Swashbuckler | HP 12/12 | AC 15 T 13 FF 12 | CMD | F +2 R +5 W +0 | Init + 3 | Per +4, SM +2 | Speed 30 Ft | Spells: None | Active Conditions: Magic Weapon

I'd like to drop with the option of someday coming back, if you'll have an opening later.

I've been feeling horribly stressed this holiday season, and I need to cut back on something, so I'm dropping two of my campaigns to preserve sanity and bandwidth. If you'd like me to RP my exit -- maybe staying on to help out at the orphanage or defend the town, I'd be happy to do so!

Hmm

Dead Suns:

If you need a break I can understand. December is a hectic, stressful month.

How do the rest feel? If we replace Rataji, not much of the original team will be left. But Vitro and Justin appear to have found eachother.

M Large Canine Level 3 druid

*facepalms as the goblin lowers itself from the ceiling to pick snowflakes pocket*

Maybe finish this scene quicklyish and take a break for december? Rataji is kind of th ecenter of the team.

Sovereign Court

If a holiday break makes it agreeable for you to stay in, we should certainly do that. It's a busy time for all of us I expect.

Dead Suns:

Yeah. I wont have a christmas holliday this year, just the mandatory days off, which wont be a lot as most of the days fall in the weekend. So between criss-crossing the country to visit family and wondering if they will blow up part of my house again with fireworks, I'll be stressed enough myself.

Sovereign Court

I'm toying with the idea of running a new years' game to see if I can make it to *** before the end of the year.

Dead Suns:

I'd do a new years game.

Dead Suns:

Holy moly, my confirmation game is hard on its way to TPK territory.

Sovereign Court

I was on a roll with Consortium Compact last time as well. The NPC raiders can be fierce if you compose good teams.

hehee. We averted half that scenario with my pallyninja forging a sign from the town board of health: Warning. Dangerous contents within. entering may be hazardous to your health. Please see (person that gave us the mission) for entry protocols and protective gear.

Every word absolutely true... :)

Dead Suns:

Everyone survived the hollidays?
