Hope you get better soon.
GM, if you put a link to the slides in your header then everyone is more likely to be abe to find the maps.
How do you keep your header clean? If I put a map link there, it will show up for everyone I post, so also for my other game. How do you make them look nice so people dont mistake them?
*this lack of vocabulary is brought to you by concrud*
Just to explain: having you summarise the plot is twofold: First, we had some slow parts, and having your character narrate it to another makes sure the plot is fresh for you.
Second, I get to see how you have experienced the story, and if there are any holes in your understanding of the plot, that I can remedy.
PbP is cool, but you miss social cues, so its easy to mistinterpret a plot point.
1) Are we using Background Skills? (I'm in favor.)
2) If you take both Magical Knack and Lore Seeker, and take two levels of something that don't advance your spellcasting, does MK take you up to [level] and LS to [level]+1?
2) If you multi-class, Magical Knack keeps your caster level on par with your hit dice (if you dip not more then two levels). Lore Seeker gives you three spells that function at caster level + 1.
I'd say Lore Seeker works for those three spells as long as you are a full caster, but as soon as you take a dip, Magical knack takes over.
Its an interesting question. I'd need to think about it some more.

It's American Thanksgiving, and I'm hosting. If I'm quiet for the next two days, that's why.

I'm trying to nail down his personality as an Earth-wizard insensitive clod with high int but low wisdom. Fortunately I have some RL skills to draw on in that regard :P

Snowflake told me it wasnt clear what was expected of you. My aplogies.
The meeting is twofold: giving you information about the goblin tribes acting up (no surprise there), letthing you know the sheriff will be out of town, and the request for you to stay in town.
And for you to be able to ask Shalelu questions. You can do so now, and she will be in town the rest of the day, in case you remember something later.
If you have no questions for the mayor or Shalelu, you are free to leave, and discuss this on your own.

The ratfolk rumages around in an old potato sack and takes out some cost estimates done in triplicate, on the back of an old rusty dragon menu, a flyer of a galtan revolutionary, and the wooden placard of cayden calden.
The materials cost is dead on, but he hasn't included labor. He's also snuck 25 gp forsending out to a larger town for a scroll of Crafters fortune, and 10 gp for ink. After looking at the elven wizard, he scratches out 10 for ink and writes in 20.

My characters tend to have families. Look at Taj. Her dad is here. Her mom isn't mainly because she's a Peri and they're rather flighty as angels go. She had her kid, and now it's time for the humanoids to raise it. My characters also tend to have adopted family members -- like Snow!
Family can add all sorts of dimensions to a character and their backstory.
That said, I am thinking of dropping this game. Between GMing multiple PbPs in January, and switching to the Online Venture Team, I worry that my personal bandwidth is getting kind of limited. I think that for my sanity's sake I'm going to have to drop a couple of the adventures I've been playing. Since we're still in Sandpoint, maybe this is a good time to drop Taj.
She's been talking about adopting an orphan. Dad is here and the town needs protecting. Maybe she joins the local guard and becomes an NPC, but doesn't travel with you guys when you go goblin hunting.

I'd like to drop with the option of someday coming back, if you'll have an opening later.
I've been feeling horribly stressed this holiday season, and I need to cut back on something, so I'm dropping two of my campaigns to preserve sanity and bandwidth. If you'd like me to RP my exit -- maybe staying on to help out at the orphanage or defend the town, I'd be happy to do so!
Yeah. I wont have a christmas holliday this year, just the mandatory days off, which wont be a lot as most of the days fall in the weekend. So between criss-crossing the country to visit family and wondering if they will blow up part of my house again with fireworks, I'll be stressed enough myself.
I was on a roll with Consortium Compact last time as well. The NPC raiders can be fierce if you compose good teams.
hehee. We averted half that scenario with my pallyninja forging a sign from the town board of health: Warning. Dangerous contents within. entering may be hazardous to your health. Please see (person that gave us the mission) for entry protocols and protective gear.
