Melicertes grimaces, his delicate elf's ears ringing. "Glory, your magnificent voice is quite stunning." How can I put this diplomatically? "Perhaps dialing back the volume a bit would demonstrate your mercy on mere mortals such as we."

"My apologies. It's Been So Long since I've Had A Good Fight, and I've Been Living In My Memories For A Long Time." Glory offers with a somewhat quieter yet still keyed-up tone.

Upon Reaching the Ghazali Estate

The guards see you approach with Aayef alive, if a bit weathered from the trip, and immediately usher the group into a meeting with Arajida al-Fakhiri who jumps to her feet and gives her son a huge hug.

"Thank you for bringing Aayef back to me. As per our deal, you may take the blade with you if you wish."

Glory speaks up at that point. "Your family's honor is a credit and your son has a good heart. I was honored to serve at his side, if only for a little while."

The matriarch's expression turns slightly more neutral when the blade speaks, but nods. "I changed my mind. PLEASE take the blade with you, before I am tempted to sell it to any of a number of buyers who would give a limb for it."

Upon returning to Remaio, a few weeks later...

Remaio Alcasti has an expression that is not unlike a child before a major gift-giving holiday as the party returns. "Is that the blade? Are family stories true about it?"

There's a bit of a pause, and then Glory speaks up. "Yes, Remaio, it's my intent to clear your mother's name and restore her honor -- if you will have my services on this mission."

Congratulations! Despite the web-outages, GenCon, and all the other things we've made it to the end of Blade! Thank you very much for your patience and sticking along! Feel free to add any posts here, I'll leave it up for a little while before closing it.

"Em, Glory, I hate to break it to you like this--I know it's not polite to ask or remind a lady of her age--but I'm afraid a rather long period of time has passed in this realm, since you knew Honoria."

Melicertes gestures at the would-be nobleman. "Young Remaio here is indeed a descendant of the famous general, but not her son. He's hoping your testimony will restore her reputation--and thereby his own good fortune."

"...did I say 'mother'? I did, didn't I. It's the memories. Remaio, it's not the luck that's important. It never hurts to have luck, but the more important thing is to have honor and goodwill. If one can always have that steel in the middle of one's spine, then it prepares for the worst and the best." Glory offers in a gently guiding tone.

Remaio squints a bit then nods. "It seems we all have a bit to learn, then." His tone is rather neutral and a bit flat.
