Aid Tokens:

During the event, it is possible for characters at one table to assist those at another with Aid Tokens. Each represents the assistance of allied Pathfinder agents who assist the PCs.
Once per encounter, any character at a table can use an Aid Token to assist the group in one of the ways described below. Once a table uses an Aid Token, one of the players then passes the Aid Token to a neighboring table for them to use. A table can only benefit from one token per encounter. Because there are a limited number of Aid Tokens, hoarding one means that somebody else doesn’t get to use it.

If a table receives an Aid Token and doesn’t need its benefits, they’re encouraged to boost its potency by expending some of their own resources or attempting a skill check. Boosting an Aid Token, including attempting a skill check, is part of passing that Aid Token to another table. A table can neither retry such a skill check nor boost an Aid Token more than once before passing it to another table. A table may boost a token even while in combat without taking any in-round actions; the scenario assumes the aid was granted before that encounter began. Using a boosted effect consumes the boost.

Some Aid Token benefits may only be used if already boosted by another table. An Aid Token’s benefits vary based on the table’s subtier, and these benefits can take one of the following forms:

Allied Offensive: A Pathfinder agent strikes a creature at the same time as the PC, increasing the damage dealt by one attack by 1d8 points. In addition, after the attack, anyone attacking the target is considered to be flanking it until the beginning of the attacker’s next turn. To Boost: Succeed at an attack roll against an AC equal to an Average skill check. Boosted Effect: +1d8 points of damage.

Burst of Healing: A Pathfinder agent heals all of the PCs of 1d6 points of damage. To Boost: Expend one use of channel positive energy or cast one spell with the healing descriptor with a spell level greater than or equal to your APL/2, rounded up. A PC must cast this spell, not simply activate a wand or scroll. Boosted Effect: +2d6 points of damage healed.

Timely Inspiration: A Pathfinder agent provides the effects of a bard’s inspire courage bardic performance for 3 rounds. In Subtiers 1–2 and 3–4, the competence bonus is +1. To Boost: Expend 3 rounds of bardic performance or similar ability. Boosted Effect: Increase the competence bonus by 1.

Provide Knowledge (must be boosted): Gain the benefits of a Knowledge skill check or Spellcraft skill check used to identify a magical item; the type and difficulty (Easy, Average or Hard) depend on the table granting the benefit. To Boost: Succeed at a Knowledge check of your choice, the result of the check (Easy, Average or Hard) should be noted on the Aid Token.

Provide Spellcasting (must be boosted): Gain the benefits of a beneficial spell cast by an ally as listed on the Aid Token. To Boost: Cast one of the following spells and note your PC’s name and caster level on the Aid Token: lesser restoration, neutralize poison, remove curse, or remove disease. Only these spells may be granted. Expending resources that produce the effects of these spells, such as a paladin’s mercy class feature, may also grant these benefits.

Fey Allies:

All PCs and companion creatures gain a single-use benefit they can use during Part 4. As a free action on its turn, a creature can use its benefit to gain either DR/1 or cold resistance 3 until the end of that encounter. Each PC and companion creature can select a different benefit.

Season of Ghosts

Welcome! Please check in to Gameplay and make yourselves at home. There will be more information as well as a request or two on my part in the days to come :)

Season of Ghosts

Alrighty! It's time for some additional information!
________

Who is GM Ladile?

My name is Kristin and I've been playing tabletop RPGs for the last 20 years or so. The bulk of my playing experience has been with AD&D 2nd Edition with a smattering of other systems such as AD&D 3rd/3.5, Dark Conspiracy and of course, Pathfinder. My home group switched to Pathfinder a little over 4 years ago and we've been hooked ever since. I started participating in PbP here on the Paizo forums maybe 6 months after that and then PFS PbP maybe a year and a half after that.

Yeah, that's a great story. What about your GM experience?

I'm still newish to GMing but I just recently achieved my first GM star! If you're interested in reading to see how I roll, you can find several of them linked under a spoiler tag on my main (Lady Ladile) profile.

What does GM Ladile need or want from me?

For starters, I'll (eventually) need some information for chronicles, which will be detailed below. But there's also some additional things!

Okay, like what?

Something I'm trying to get into the habit of doing when I'm gearing up to run a new game is to get an idea of what sorts of characters I'll have at my table. To this end, I ask you to tell me this: What does your character do that's cool? Do you specialize in combat maneuvers? Are you a beast that crushes Diplomacy checks with the greatest of ease? If your character has a 'thing' that they do or otherwise utilizes unusual things or specific circumstances then please let me know! This will make it easier for me to account for such things during combat and other sections where they might apply.

Got it! Anything else?

Yes, actually. Sometimes a player might find themselves temporarily unavailable to post in the game but, alas, the show must go on, especially if the GM and other players are still present and participating. To this end, I ask that you give me some basic instructions to follow should I need to 'bot' your character for you during combat or other moments. They don't have to be elaborate. For example, you could say something like this:

'Okay, immediately prior to combat I'm going to cast SuperBuff on our melee guy if I can. Then, if things are going well, I'll stand behind the melee guy and use my Longspear of Butt-Whoopin' to help him kill the bad guys. But if someone gets really hurt or goes down I'll use my Gloves of Awesome to heal them up again.'

Generally when I bot PCs I don't use consumable resources such as spells, abilities with <X> uses per day/round/whatever, potions, alchemical items, etc. unless explicitly given permission to do so via botting instructions *or* the situation is dire and I suspect the PC would use them to save himself or an ally.

GM Ladile, are you a hard@ss?

I suppose it depends on what you consider to be a 'hard@ss'. I will run the scenario and the encounters within as written, to the best of my ability, as all Society GMs are expected to do. But I also try to utilize my own common sense when I run my games. I'm not going to have my monsters deliberately eat your familiar when (and if) there are more dangerous threats to target. I'm going to assume that the collective group is smart enough to utilize light sources when they need them, without me making you state so every single time you enter a dark place - though I might need to know what kind of light source for mapping purposes! If you have the time and aren't threatened by anything, I'm going to assume that you'll probably Take 10 to ID items via Spellcraft, that sort of thing. You're Pathfinder agents who are assumed to have had at least a little basic training before being sent out on missions and so I don't personally see the point in dithering around on minor things - it's boring and in this type of medium, it only slows things down even further.

So can I just mow your bad guys down with my tricked-out Archer of Doom or Slumber Hex my way to victory?

Well, technically yes. But my real answer is a bit more nuanced. If your character has a 'Thing' that they do, whether that be something cool for combat or something cool for social situations, then that's wonderful! My own sense of fun isn't contingent on me 'beating' the PCs - I want you guys to succeed! And so if you mow down my monsters with the greatest of ease or crush those diplomacy checks no problem then I'm not going to get butthurt about it. That being said, it is important to also consider your fellow teammates. While I'm happy to try and make sure that you'll get a chance to do your 'Thing' during the course of the scenario, please consider whether or not it'll be fun for your fellow players to sit by while you destroy everything. Everyone deserves a chance to participate and an opportunity to shine, so maybe consider toning your 'Thing' down a little so others have a chance to do their own 'Things'.

What about the posting rate?

Glad you asked! Some of you have played with me before and know that my own posting habits and times shift depending on when I'm working and such. On the days that I work I'll likely only manage 1 post myself but on my off days I can usually manage more. In general, I try to post as much as I need to to keep the game moving along and people from getting bored. From you, the players, I would really like to see at least 1 post/day though more is certainly encouraged.

Is that all?

Almost! The most important thing of all that I'd like you to do is to bring a good attitude and plenty of enthusiasm. I consider it my job to make your playing experience an enjoyable one but it helps when my players seem like they're excited to be at the table and are willing to participate - it makes me happy, which means I usually write better posts, which makes you guys happy, etc. A positive feedback loop, if you will.

However, not all playing styles mesh and most of you haven't played with me before. If you're not having a good time or otherwise have an issue with the way I'm running the game, please let me know and we'll try to work out a solution together. I can't help to fix problems if I don't know that a problem exists, so communicate. Talk to me. I promise I don't bite.

Last of all, I am by no means a rules expert or guru and the majority of my playing background is rooted in rules interpretations being flexible - to a point. So if I forget something or seem like I'm overstepping my bounds in what's allowed, please point it out but don't be a jerk about it.

Outside of combat Rogar realizes he lacks the social niceties or knowledges of his fellow agents but tries to help however he can.

Anything else you want me to note on your Chronicle:

Polanco Goldhammer is definitely a teacher's pet; what can he say but he and Ambrus Valsin just see eye to eye (I have the year 9 boon for this and since I happen to know Ambrus appears in this adventure that's going to have some effects which I will detail below.)

The Society is a great place to make your way in the world if you're a dwarf who just wants to make beer money. Polanco is from the 5 kingdoms and has no real desire to go back. This party is probably the largest number of non-him dwarves he has seen in one place since leaving home. He likes doing the work, protecting his 'nerds' and going out to get drinks with his co workers after. He is even thinking of entering the Cayden clergy (say at 7th level) ! That's a guy who seems to have his head on right! He carries a growler of something he calls a "Mwangi Pale Ale", an unbelievably bitter beer.

He's what you might call a good ole boy. He has a closed world view and some might even see that as being a bad thing. But hes jovial enough and doesn't mean anything by it. He even contributes to the team. He read up on how dragons and magic and such works and like any good dwarf he has a pretty good eye for "arkey-texture". He's become something of a Mwangi expert and this is reflected by him ditching his dwarven waraxe for the traditional weapon of the Ekujae elves, a Yellowheart Wood Terbutje.

As far as in game complications go - Polanco has Step Up, Combat Relfexes and Disruptive. That's going to require some auto-piloting especially in a time sensitive setting like this one. He will pretty much always 5 foot step to stay with someone who steps away from him and I fully authorize you to make my opportunity attacks.

Boon (used 0/3 times):
One of the Society's in-world venture-captains sees great potential in you. Write the name of that venture-captain after this boon. (I wrote Ambrus Valsin)

This venture-captain greets you by name whenever you meet. When you participate in an adventure in which that venture-captain provides the mission briefing, you may check off a box before this boon to gain additional supplies of your choice with a value of at most 50 gp per character level.

You must return any unspent supplies at the end of the of the adventure. If you have at least 20 Fame, the venture-captain invites you to take a direct hand in teaching the next generation of Pathfinders.

You may spend 1 Prestige Point to become a part-time instructor at the Grand Lodge. You can use your educational skills to respectfully help your fellow agents thrive when they find themselves in challenging situations. If you are playing an adventure in the higher subtier, you may confer one of the following benefits upon each of the PCs who are 3 or more levels lower than you for the duration of the scenario: a +1 bonus to AC, a +1 bonus on all saving throws, or +1 hit point per level.

I can take a picture of this boon if you would like.

tl;dr we get 600 gp of gear in this adventure in exchange for me checking off a box

Regarding the dweomercat - yep! It takes some effort but it's very possible to talk your way out of fighting it, which I like. Sometimes it's nice to not have to kill everything or everyone :)

GM, I'm using the Timely Inspiration benefit, so you can pass it on to another table.

Season of Ghosts

Noted! Will pass it along!

*edit* Timely Inspiration actually doesn't really have much effect right now since it doesn't apply to skill checks but I'll go ahead and pass the token as we've already held on to it longer than we should have.

Don't forget guys, we have another Aid Token! Let me know whether you want to use it (once we're decided what the group is doing next) or boost it and pass it along to another table!

Season of Ghosts

Hey guys, I hope everyone has had a pleasant holiday weekend :)

And for those not in the States, I hope you've had a pleasant regular weekend :)

(Game update to follow very very shortly!)

Season of Ghosts

Busy day at work yesterday and have some errands/engagements today but I'll have a post later this evening!

And I am apparently on tap for tomorrow through next Monday!

Season of Ghosts

Hey folks, I'll be heading out of town to DieCon 18 from today through Monday the 11th. While I'll have my phone and Kindle with me, I definitely won't have the time to properly check in and keep us moving at the speed we need....soooooo, I've contacted the handsome and talented EM+GM to keep you guys moving along while I'm away! I should return sometime in the early afternoon or early evening on Monday and will be able to take back over that evening :)

Season of Ghosts

Hey guys, just a quick check-in to say that DieCon was a blast and that normal operations should resume tomorrow afternoon/evening once I've gotten home and had a chance to get settled in :)

Yay, just in time for me to avoid the social stuff =)

Season of Ghosts

Thank you muchly EM+GM for stepping in and keeping the table moving while I've been out of pocket!

*bows and scrapes*

Season of Ghosts

For anyone that's interested in reading about my convention experience:

DieCon Stuff (Spoiled for Holy Crap That's A Lot to Read):

So, DieCon 18 - my second DieCon to date - went great. My brother and I hit the road around 8:30 or so Thursday morning and, even with making a couple of stops to hit up a game shop, use the bathroom, and eat, we arrived in Collinsville, IL just after 4:00 pm. We met up with friends Chris (who lives a couple hours north) and Becca (who flew in from Las Vegas and was crashing at Chris' place), got checked in to the Super 8, and then loaded up and headed into downtown St. Louis, MO to have dinner at Blueberry Hill. While there we also met up with another guy that Becca & Chris know from their time in World of Warcraft. This was the second year I've met him and he's a rather odd duck, but nice enough. After dinner we went down the street to the Snow Factory for some Thai-style ice cream. While good and also a rather novel experience, I'm not sure it was worth $8. I'd have been just as happy to go across the street to Fitz's for shakes. After all this the hour was getting late so we headed back to the Super 8 to get some sleep.

Friday morning, we got up and headed to the nearby Denny's for breakfast before going over to the Gateway Convention Center to get ready to sign up for games! Normally registration and sign-ups open at noon but for some reason they started about a half-hour early. Since I'd already preregistered I was able to get my t-shirt and convention booklet and hop right into the registration line.

Event signups for DieCon are interesting in that, with the exception of Organized Play programs like PFS or DnD AL, you sign up in-person and the events tend to be something of a first-come, first-serve basis. You have a card and you write down three sessions that you really want to get in to (first choice) and then write down two alternates (second choice) and then go through the line. The people at the desk then look at your paper and go to see how many slots are still open for the events you want. They then give you stickers to place in your booklet for the events you're able to get into. One limitation they *do* impose for Saturday and Sunday events is that they only give out maybe half of the tickets for those on Friday and hold the rest in reserve for folks who can't get there to sign up until Saturday or Sunday. Luckily for me I was able to get into all of my first choices right away and for the PFS/SFS I'd signed up for, my tickets were held in reserve and waiting for me since I'd done my signing up via Warhorn.

After a quick walk over to the nearby Mexican place for a drink (no lunch since several of us had just eaten) we then filtered back over to the convention center for Session #1, which started at 2pm. My event for this was a board game called 'Mansions of Madness' - gameplay seemed somewhat similar to 'Betrayal at House on the Hill' except with a heckuva lot more Cthulhu creep factor. The rules were a little complex and took some getting used to but the game itself was quite enjoyable and it came right down to the wire on whether we, the players, would win or the GM! I enjoyed it enough that I would've shelled out money for my own copy but none of the vendors seemed to have one. Sadness :(

Each session has an hour-long break before the next session starts so those are good times to hit the restroom, grab a bite to eat, go smoke, wander around the convention hall, etc. I brought some of my own snacks and flavor packs for my bottled water (which I just kept refilling using the canteens placed around the hall) because the snack bar is crazy expensive.

Session #2 was my first foray into playing Savage Worlds. What I didn't know, because the blurb for it didn't mention this part, is that we were going to be using the 'Pirates of the Spanish Main' setting for the game. So when I sat down and ended up being the only one at the table who hadn't played before, the GM grinned at me and said, 'Okay then, you're the captain' and tossed said character sheet my direction. Pretty sure I had an 'Oh god' look on my face but hey, it's good to try new things right? And actually, it turned out pretty good! I mean yeah, we narrowly escaped being executed only to have a rival run off with our ship (after having 'repaid' me by helping to bust us free) and had no navigator and like 5 NPC crew and no money or supplies but we did manage to take a merchant ship (using our persuasive smooth-talk and the one sword we had between 6 characters) and made it to what amounted to Tortuga. The session ended right as we'd finished negotiating a deal for our cargo and making some preparations to buy supplies and start tracking down leads on where to find some cannons...but the rest will be detailed further down for I'd also signed up to play the second part of this little adventure during the middle Saturday session! I also received a copy of the Deluxe Explorer's Edition of Savage Worlds - hooray for free swag!

After a decent night's sleep, we all got up early Saturday morning and trooped back over to the convention center for moar gaming! Session #3 was a game of 'Call of Scooby Doo' using a game system called 'FAST' that was developed by brothers Larry and Woody Babb. Larry himself ran our game and the best way to describe the experience is like a standard Scooby Doo mystery (including special guest stars as playable characters) mixed with puzzle solving and some Cthulhu-style horror. I played this last year, where the scenario was called 'Wednesday Mourning' and featured Wednesday Addams as the special guest star. This year's scenario was called 'Cereal Killer' and featured Count Chocula (or his daughter, the Countess Chocula) as the special guest star. I played Velma, same as last year, while my brother and another con-friend reprised their usual roles as Scooby and Shaggy. The player of Shaggy even brings Scooby Snacks to the game each year! Much fun was had by all and we solved the mystery and defeated the crazed Sonny the Cuckoo Bird, who was the villain for this year's scenario.

Session #4 saw the continuation of Friday's Savage Worlds game and most of the same players returned, including myself. For those of us who played both sessions, we actually got to 'level up' our characters before getting started, which was nice. More pirate hijinks were had wherein our fence wound up murdered and our money stolen...along with someone's daughter? I suspect that said daughter was originally supposed to be my character's daughter but see, I hadn't paid close attention to my character sheet during the earlier session and had given my captain a female name and gender...which in the real world setting and time period the game was set in, would've been really unusual. Oops. But it did lead to some amusing comments from the rest of my crew. At any rate, we raced off to Haiti to try and rescue our money (and the girl, I guess) from the clutches of Baron Samedi and encountered storms, hostile locals, and a bloodthirsty shark along the way. Unfortunately we kinda ran out of time after the shark encounter and the GM had to narrate the rest of the adventure and conclusion but I had a surprisingly good time with the whole thing and would definitely play with this GM again at future DieCons.

Session #5 is where I finally sat down and played my first ever game of Starfinder! Starting with the very first published scenario, Claim to Salvation, which is run using 4th level pregen iconics. Most of the other players had about as much experience as I did, which was none, so it was nice to be more or less on a level playing field with everyone else. I also saw a familiar face at this table, a kid (probably 14-15ish) who was at all of my PFS tables at last year's DieCon. He seemed to have grown up a little in that this time he didn't try to go all murderhobo right off the bat and also didn't keep interrupting the GM as they were trying to talk. All of the other players, as well as the GM, were super friendly and helpful and we all had a great time playing through the scenario. While I think Pathfinder will remain my main squeeze, I definitely enjoyed Starfinder enough that I plan to make my own character for SFS play.

Sunday morning rolls around after another night of adequate sleep and this is the day where my brother and I are in all of the same events together. Session #6, our first of the day, was a PFS game playing the scenario 'Scourge of the Farheavens'. We only had four people for this and had a really weird level split with one 5th level character and everyone else being 1st level because most of said players either only had those characters to play (the 5th level shaman and the 1st level fighter) or just really wanted to play a particular character (my brother and his 1st level druid). I can't say a lot about the particulars of the scenario itself as I want to avoid spoilers but it was highly amusing and surprisingly challenging in certain parts. It was also pretty straightforward and we finished with an hour to spare so it'd probably be an easy one to run for anyone contemplating GMing PFS scenarios.

Since we got done with plenty of time to spare, my brother and I actually hit up the nearby steakhouse for lunch and had the first proper meal we'd had since Friday morning. Afterwards, we went to Session #7 which was a homebrew game of Deadlands titled 'Large Trouble, Small China' wherein we had to solve some issues with gang violence occurring in San Francisco's Chinatown. Oh, did I mention we had to fight an evil wizard and his nigh-invincible henchmen? That was a thing. I've played Deadlands before and would actually like to play it more in the future, if our home group can ever finish some of our Pathfinder campaigns.

Last but not least, our last game of the convention was Session #8, where we played another PFS scenario titled 'Beyond the Halflight Path'. This one is a 3-7 evergreen with multiple story arcs that can be played and it was my first time playing it. The beginning has plenty of social stuff happening and then the latter part was more dungeon-crawl than anything, but that's okay. Once again, we just had 4 PCs but at least this time there wasn't quite as much of a level gap. We won and survived, but man we had one or two tough fights! Our ectoplasmist spiritualist was the MVP of the scenario and I'm positive that without his assistance we would've wiped on at least one of the encounters. On the other hand...what's up with characters not having any ranks in any knowledge skills? Some classes that are skill-starved I can understand but otherwise, I mean...really? Especially when you're 5th or 6th level? I've seen this several times now with live play but I don't know that I've ever seen it in a PbP game. I try not to tell people how to play but sometimes some decisions leave me shaking my head a bit. Ah well.

Anyhoo, that's pretty much the tale of my experiences at DieCon 18! Had lots of fun, picked up a little swag, and managed to survive through all of my games. I'm totally looking forward to next year :)

Also, apologies to those of you who will see this posted across several games!

Season of Ghosts

Just as a FYI, information is now up for PbP Gameday VII - the next PbP convention for Pathfinder Society and Starfinder Society! Check it out if you're curious :)

Season of Ghosts

By the way folks, the Special ends tomorrow so please make sure that you've provided me with all of the information requested in this post so that I can get your chronicles to you in a timely manner!

Btw, Will there be boons?

Season of Ghosts

Alas, no boons this time since Session #2 of this special didn't fall under the OutPost umbrella like the first session did :/

But!

There will be boons for PbP Gameday VII :D

Season of Ghosts

Hokay! Reporting is mostly done but I still need Radagast's information (PFS ID#) to give to the Overseer for reporting purposes as well as the rest of his relevant information for his chronicle.

Grand Lodge

Male Dwarf Monk 8 | AC 21| T 21| FF 17| HP: 91/91 | CMD 31* | Fort +12 | Ref +11 EV| Will +13 | Init +9 | Perception +19 | Ki 8/8 | SF 8/8

Time to start working on a new faction journal card.

In place of a day job Rogar will try very hard to give a good report of the events that occurred.

wisdom check DC 15: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18 He actually creates a comprehensive report.

What nations were we in other then Absalom?

Season of Ghosts

You passed through the Hold of Belkzen (though that part wasn't detailed in this version) and then into the Realm of the Mammoth Lords, which is where most of the special took place :)

Grand Lodge

Male Half-Elf Druid 7 (HP 59/59) (AC 26/11/25) (CMD 20) (Fort +6, Ref +3, Will +8) (Init +3) (Perception +18)

?I put my details on the map slide, where you requested it...?

Please let me know if there is a problem.

Season of Ghosts

Derp, sorry, I've been up all night. Never mind, it's all good!

But I do have another question: on later scenarios, how does one calculate OoS gold? Since Rogar is 7th level, does he get the average of the normal gold values for the 5-6 and 7-8 subtiers?

Grand Lodge

Male Dwarf Monk 8 | AC 21| T 21| FF 17| HP: 91/91 | CMD 31* | Fort +12 | Ref +11 EV| Will +13 | Init +9 | Perception +19 | Ki 8/8 | SF 8/8

I asked in chat. I get the difference between tier 5 - 6 and 7 - 8.

Silver Crusade

| Elf Female Cleric of Shelyn 6 | GM Reroll +1 | Lightning Arc (5/5) | Barkskin +3 | HP 34/34 | Spells -/4+1/3+1/1+1 | 5/5 Channels | AC 21 (T 14 FF 17) | CMD 19 | Saves 6/7/8 | Init 5 | Perception 6

Hi GM, I'd like to work on my faction goals. Did I achieve any of the following goals in this mission? If I did, mark the first one I did on my character sheet (or just acknowledge it in this chat so I can publicly refer to it.)

In the course of an adventure, purify a corrupted object or location, or remove an evil force that is possessing or otherwise controlling a creature.

Rescue a named NPC who is a divine spellcaster with a good-aligned deity or a named outsider with the good subtype. Alternatively, collaborate with the NPC to overcome an obstacle directly related to the PCs’ success conditions, such as defeating a foe; summoned outsiders do not contribute to this goal, but called ones do if not coerced into service.

Defeat an outsider that has the evil subtype or an undead creature whose CR is at least equal to your character level

Season of Ghosts

I would say two of those would count; closing the portal at the stone circle (and thus, purifying the area) and defeating an evil outsider. The warmonger devil you encountered back in the museum at the end of Act 1 would qualify for this as he was a CR 7 creature and I've noted it on your chronicle sheet.

Speaking of chronicle sheets, you can find them >>here<<. Please look them over and make sure that I've got everything correct; if not I will update and get you a new one as soon as possible. Regarding your OoS gold Rogar, I was instructed by some of the other special GMs to treat this as a regular chronicle and thus you receive the average of the 5-6 and 7-8 subtiers - which is actually a fair bit more than you'd have gotten by just taking the difference between the two :)

I like to type boons. Here are the ones for Solstice Scar part B!

Frozen Fortitude (1 box)
Even the coldest wilderness could not fell you. Now you are prepared to endure freezing attacks or even draw strength from the snow. As a swift action, you can check the box that precedes this boon to gain cold resistance equal to 5 + your character level for 1 minute. You can activate this boon as an immediate action, but doing so grants you only cold resistance equal to your character level. Alternatively, if you have cold resistance as a result of a racial trait or class feature, you can check this box as a swift action to regain a number of hit points equal to your cold resistance; if you are immune to cold, you regain 30 hit points.

Martyr’s Shard 2 (1 box)
The paladin Ivvora wielded a powerful dagger in service to her angelic patron, Vildeis. By helping recover and restore the hilt, you are able to begin imbuing a facsimile of the blade to combat evil on your own terms. If you are a paladin or lawful good character capable of casting divine spells, as a free action you can check the box that precedes this boon to grant one weapon you wield a +1 enhancement bonus that stacks with the weapon’s existing enhancement bonus, if any (but not with similar additional enhancements, such as that granted by a paladin’s divine bond ability), and grant it the ability to overcome damage reduction and regeneration as per a cold iron, good-aligned weapon for 1 minute. Furthermore, you can check the box that precedes this boon to instead cast dispel magic as a spell-like ability using your character level as the spell’s caster level.

Otherwise, as a free action, you can check the box that precedes this boon to grant one weapon you wield a +1 enhancement bonus (which does not stack with other enhancement bonuses) and the ability to overcome damage reduction and regeneration as per a cold iron, good-aligned weapon for 1 minute.

Future Martyr’s Shard boons may unlock additional benefits.

Any character with this boon can purchase an avenging dagger (120,604 gp; functions as a holy avenger but is a dagger rather than a longsword) as though her effective Fame score were 10 higher. If this character has earned two, three, or all four Martyr’s Shard boons, reduce the cost of an avenging dagger to 110,604 gp, 100,604 gp, or 90,604 gp respectively. If you purchase an avenging dagger and later gain additional Martyr’s Shard boons that would reduce the price further, you gain additional gp equal to the difference between the two costs (as though you had purchased the dagger at the lower cost).

Triumph Over Scales: (1 box)
You have braved the Realm of the Mammoth Lords, not only defeating a tribe of kobolds but also slaying their white dragon overlords. You can spend 2 Prestige Points to learn Draconic as a bonus language. In addition, you can check the box that precedes this boon when you threaten a critical hit against a dragon or humanoid with the reptilian subtype to gain a +10 insight bonus on the attack roll to con rm the critical hit. Alternatively, you can check the box when a dragon or humanoid with the reptilian subtype would confirm a critical hit against you in order to gain the benefits of the heavy fortification armor special ability against that attack.

My starting gold is 3,942 not 9,942.
