I will be traveling from Saturday morning until Weds. night (driving up north to see the eclipse). I will try to check in at least once a day, but if I miss a post time, please feel free to bot me to keep the flow going. I don't want to hold up the game.
Shouldn't affect this game which doesn't start til the 25th, just posting this in all my games... just in case.
GM Chyro |
Petrok, i don't see an inventory list on your sheet.
Could you make it please, thank you.

Petrok, i don't see an inventory list on your sheet.
Could you make it please, thank you.
Do you want a scanned inventory sheet or something in my character profile here on the boards? either way I'll have it to you by tonight.
Petrok Kaznikh |
Petrok's inventory is now listed on his profile page..note: he will not take his camel or anything listed on the camel unless this is an overland adventure. Also Petrok does have a weasel familiar that mostly hangs out in his belt pouch or within' arms reach of Petrok. I never use Ember(the weasel), during combat. However, if you'll permit me to pay an animal handler to general purpose train him between last mission and this one...I'd like to have Ember trained as a burglar. With regards to general purpose training of tricks..the DC to train as a burglar is DC:25 (2.1 gpx take "20"=42gp correct?) If you'll allow it : I'll take the 42gp from my sheet and Ember will be general purpose trained as a burglar going into this adventure.
GM Chyro |
Afaik, teaching an animal companion or mount that is your own, you'd have to train it yourself.
A druid in a long term campaign i run did so, as did my own hunter.
If you can otherwise link me to where it says you can have an NPC do this for you, and with the cost math (i've never paid an NPC for it after all), ok.
Petrok Kaznikh |
OK just read up on animal companions/familiars for PFS. And yes it appears I need to teach my familiar his tricks myself (looks like I'l invest a rank or 2 in handle animal at a future date)..The exception is purchased animals(mostly mounts) can do the trick they were purchased for .(ie. My Camel is trained to bear a rider, A warhorse is trained to bear a rider into combat but not all the other tricks like attack ect..those must be taught by the character..anyway it's all under the FAQ)
Lastly, when a Druid or Ranger ect.. first get's his/her companion (no mention of familiars) it already knows it's maximum amount tricks without having to roll.
One other thing I think I want to purchase a potion of Levitate before game play starts. It came in really handy last scenario I was in. I'll take 30pp (300gp) off my character and the potion if that's OK..oh and I'll adjust the inventory sheet to reflect the new purchase..come to think of it I should also list my available gold/platinum pieces.
GM Chyro |
Yes, i know of the animal companion's starting tricks.
I've added the map link under my name.
In case it wasn't too obvious (looking at Faeran and Nectanebo), any striped squares are stairs.
Also, something i did previously running this mission, if you guys would draw a route with arrows, in which order you'd like to go to which room, this will go much faster.
Nectanebo the Vulture |
Animating the dead is by nature evil....
Ahhh, Don't get me started. Damn Horror Adventures. :P
For what it's worth, The Necromantic Servant ability does not have the [Evil] descriptor.
Faeran |
that's just one opinion of course... Faeran could be mistaken :)
Faeran |
I will be attending Strategicon from Friday through Monday... Will be able to make limited posts, but not reliably nor frequently... I will try to keep up with at least one post a day, but no guarantees. Please bot me as needed to keep up the pace of the game, thanks.
GM Chyro |
Ah, necromantic practices and those judging it a crime. :)
Too bad, a while ago i joined a game with a gravewalker witch, an adventure into castle Dracula. Sadly the GM had to drop it before we even arrived at the 1st village.
By the way, marching order?
Nectanebo the Vulture |
Nectanebo, you'd be surprised there's quite a lack of corpses in this place. Unless description of an area says otherwise, there is no corpse present. Which includes here.
Fear not, you can still put that power to use down here.
Funny/stupid thing is, I technically don't need there to be one present. By RAW, it just gets pulled out of the ground/my ass, but there's a certain lack of artistry in that, so I'm in the habit of saying there's a corpse available when I need one.
Petrok Kaznikh |
Hey everyone , I'd like to apologize again for forgetting Petrok's abilities..As I mentioned in the post I've only played Petrok 3 times at Paizo con this year (and they were fairly rushed games). And one play by post game. Quite honestly sometimes I get so caught up in the roll-play (like what would I do in that situation?) I forget my character has all these marvelous magical abilities! So if the GM needs to keep events moving and doesn't allow a retcon (and I would totally understand this GM), I am extremely sorry to the group and especially Steinfaust for not being aware of my own character's powers..I'll try to do better next time.
Nectanebo the Vulture |
I think it would be a very reasonable (and minor) retcon.
Petrok Kaznikh |
Hey everybody..been having fun so far enjoying the dungeon and everything.. I do have a one request though..In an effort to keep the game moving, I've had Petrok take the lead in to most of the rooms (even the room Steinfaust got attacked by Rotgrubs Petrok entered first)..I don't really mind taking the lead in most situations but fact is two of you have significantly better perception modifiers than Petrok and Petrok has been rolling uncannily low on his perceptions!
Bad recipe for a dungeon crawl! So from here on out ( after I'm through exploring this eastern passage) I'm going to let Faeren or Steinfaust take the lead and Petrok will closely follow.. This might slow the game a little but I think our end result will be much better..
Anyway I am having fun good adventure so far!
GM Chyro |
Which of the two volunteers for that?
Else i'll have to flip a coin.
GM Chyro |
For the games i am running, a little heads up.
For the coming 3 weeks, (so until probably mid-late October) work related reasons have me occupied more than i usually have so far.
I will obviously have time in my evenings, but i can't guarantee check-ups during the day.
GM Chyro |
I'll update later in the morning.
Looking at the map,
Nectanebo, you'd still need an acro roll to get to where you are currently. You were east side last round.
Was Steinfaust moved for something, and not placed back?
Petrok, where did you want to move to?
If you are unable to move your icon, just ask one of the others to do it for you. :)
Nectanebo the Vulture |
Couldn't I have just walked around the edge? That's what I thought I was doing.
GM Chyro |
The entire room is greased by slime.
Acro checks all the way for movement.
And,
While it is possible outside with a wayward traveler, i'm going to have to say no to the minion down here, Nectanebo, for the following.
The Shining crusade left this place long ago along with their dead, after which the orcs moved in. Those left too, save for Gra'kk.
No rooms have descriptions of a corpse being present, save for plot related, which is a requirement to do anything animating related. The ground is solid stone, btw.
Corpses or remains are not so easily at hand down here, as they would be on the field of battle or a graveyard.
GM Chyro |
10,910 GP / 32 PP.
Raise dead is 1/2 that price.
GM Chyro |
I'm not sure, and can't find it right now, but i 'think' there was the option of using resources from a PFS alias to fund another alias' caster services.
I'm not sure, you'd have to browse the boards.
GM Chyro |
You fell on the greasy square SE of your dinosaur.
But currently, no need to roll for anything. :/
