Meat-spider bites into liberteen hard, dazing her. In response Liberteen rips it off her and throws it against a wall. The meat-spider hits the wall with a squishy thump and falls to the ground and begins to be absorbed into the muck coating the floor.

Sorry! I posted in the discussion thread that I was going to be on spotty internet for a week. Turned out to be very spotty. [dork] me [/dork]

With Liberteen and Chris teamed up on one of the meat spiders, Cosmos decides to line up a shot on one of the spiders that isn't in melee.

Blast PL 10: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24


Cat - Your parry rating +10 is the target number I need to equal or beat in order to hit you with a close(melee) attack. The spider is also not grabbing you so you don't need to resist that either.

Capt Cosmos - Welcome back, remembered you said you were going to be spotty for a while, I just didn't want to slow the game down too much.

Meat-spider 1 bites Cat hard and pumps her full of a paralyzing toxin rendering her incapacitated. Cat you can spend an hero point, everyone starts with one, to recover from being incapacitated. If you do you will go from incapacitated to staggered and -2 on resistance checks.

Meat-spider 3's bite has no effect on QNetic.

Chris 114 with your reach you can defiantly attack the head.
restaince check: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13, Chris 114 scythe-like arm whistles through the air severing the cables connecting it to the computers staggering it. The head now free from external control begins to go into some kind of seizure. The effect on the spiders only make then more frenzied.

Capt. Cosmos sees spider 3 bite QNetic and decides to shoot it.
resistance check: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16, the good Capt. blow a leg off dazing the abomination.

Spider 4 bites at Chris 114 again, ATK: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15, the spider barly hits. a restance check PL8 please.

The Head's gibbering intensifies and causes an intense painful pressure in everyone's minds.

"AGH Yes.. yes she does.." Jo manages to say hearing the Captain call for the others to cover her as she collapses to the floor while the disgusting meat-spider venom begins pumping through her veins.

WELP assuming that whatever the screech does does not also make me unable to act I'll go ahead and use that hero point to remvoe Incapacitated, otherwise I suppose I'll just wait it out.


@Cat - I was just being descriptive, nothing is preventing you from moving after you spend the HP. I also assume that you spend the HP after you fail the will save. ;)

Pain rips through QNetic mind, staggering him.

Cosmos is only slightly distracted as his physic defenses provide an effective guard against the mental assault.

Chris 114 seams remarkably unaffected by either meat-spiders or giant psychic heads, strange really. I know it's the luck of the rolls but i'm working into the story now.

Female Hero Points: 3 The Cat

Jo grits her teeth as she drags herself back to her feet struggling to keep stable despite the venom and the pain induced by the screech of the horribel face-thing. Knowing now more than ever that trying to get into a fight with the spiders would be foolish she pulls away once again moving to try and reach the machine that is fusing the bug suit onto the (likely) homelss person.

Sorry for the delay! If I can reach the machine Jo will attempt to disable whatever is doing it.

Tech: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14


Cat staggers over to the machine fusing armor into a captive. When she tries to disable it the machine fights her, stabling and pinching with multiple mechanical arms. No real attack but you will need a much higher roll to succeed.

QNetic is up.


Qnetic focuses inward, dropping to the ground and morphing into his internal focus form in order to heal (free action). He then runs at superspeed to put himself between Cat and the meat spiders. (move action as standard) I'll hold them back as long as I can. You disable it.


Showing budding teamwork QNetic blocks for Cat as she tries to free the captive. It's a good thing Qnetic decides to defend as meat-spider 1 leaps to attack Cat. I'll give you the choice as to what happens; you can interpose yourself between Cat and the spider, you'll be attacked instead of Cat, or you can make a free attack at the spider as it jumps past you to attack Cat.

ATHENA - Report, Capt. the lab is neither connected to the internet or on the official schematics of the NYMC. I am not detecting any back up power systems, if primary power is cut it should render the labs mechanical components inert. RC: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12 Chris 114's scythe-arm slices the head open top to bottom incapacitating the monstrosity.

The head speaks before it's insane rambling cease, Yes my savior...end me...take back my infection taken from you... When the head finally goes quiet the spiders and the material covering the floors and walls all dissolve into a reddish black thick liquid and is rapidly absorbed by Chris 114. Chris 114 screams as memories of dozens of people and things flood his mind, after a few minutes the other memory's fade along with the pain they brought. Where the head was now lays a unconscious naked woman around her mid thirties, on her left arm is the same rising sun that all of you have.

Now that your not in eminent danger you can take better stock of what's around you. The prisoners are dressed as lab techs and are not the homeless as first thought them to be. All of their access badges have no names and only bear this symbol.

The armor is still in the process of being fused to someone and needs to be stopped, or not.

Let me know what you're doing, you have an estimated 5 to 10 minutes before law enforcement makes an appearance.

Jo begins working on the machine trying to decipher the means of shutting it down or at least hindering it in some way but the lingering effects of the venom make concentration difficult at best.

What in Andromeda did that mean? Does that woman have this same mark? Cosmos holsters his blaster and springs up to The Cat. Snapping orders as he goes, "We need someone to check on the prisoners and someone to check on that woman...was she the head just a minute ago?"

As soon as he reaches the armor fusing table he looks to The Cat, "Maybe I can help shut this thing down? Tell me what you need."

Technology Aid another on Cat's next attempt: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17


Cat's delicate fingers dance over the machines controls but just ends up speeding up the the fusing process instead of slowing it down. Capt. Cosmos offers a few pointers to help Cat in her next attempt.

Again Cat fumbles with the controls but has only slightly better luck.

One of the lab techs in the cells yells out over the physical protests of the others in the cell, "I don't care about the Gloom we're all dead anyway. The code Sequence is ANAGENE8657, when the readings 50% hit enter, it will trigger the abort...Ee-gahh" and then falls over dead bleeding profusely from the thousand cuts that suddenly appear all over her body.

The other lab techs all stop shouting only to emit a frighted whimper every so often.

"Good idea Cap.." Jo mutters as she shakes her head to keep her vision straight, her mind clears just as the tech began to shout at them telling them the sequence necessary to end the process, it would require inputting it at the half way mark but that was perhaps better than nothing. "Get it open any way, if this doesn't work we'll need to work fast.." Jo said with a sigh as she began imputing the code given by the researcher feeling furious with herself for being unable to get the machine disabled before that had been necessary, if she HAD then perhaps the tech would not have been killed. Once the readings hit 50% Jo will press enter as the tech said to.

Horrified by the Tech's grizzly death, Captain Cosmos stares dumbfounded at the scene for a second. Then turns to his companions."Chris, QNetic, Libberteen, if you can get her up to the street, there is a chance we can still save her. The Medical facilities aboard the Zephyr are advanced, but she can't transmat through all if this matter." Cosmos waves at the walls around him. "If you can get her to the street, Athena should be able to transport her into the auto-doc and maybe get her body working again. It's an off chance, but it's a chance...Every second counts."

Then into his communicator, "Captain to Zephyr, we have a medical emergency down here. Sending a severely injured earth human up to the hole entrance on the surface. Be prepared to transmat her into the auto-doc and see if there is anything you can do for her."

Might I point out that nobody has bothered to check if the woman who was the head is still alive.

Liberteen attempts to open the door to the wounded tech (Str check: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11). If she manages to free her, the heroine takes her in her arms, dashes back to the hole and leaps back to the surface.

Back from GenCon. Fun, but tiring and troublesome. On the way up (from Mississippi, a 12-hour trip), a tractor-trailer ran into and destroyed the back of our rental vehicle. No serious injuries (fortunately), but put us behind schedule by 3 hours while we found another rental. Ran a total of seven tables for Paizo.


Welcome back WhtKnt, hope there's no lingering damage from the wreck.

Liberteen you need a DC15 str check to open the cages.

Chris and Liberteen 114 don't notice anything out of the ordinary other than the fact they just fought bugmen, meat-spiders and a giant head.

Capt. Cosmos you catch something dark moving out of the corner of you eye but when turn to get a better look there's noting there, probably just a stray shadow.

I think the Paizo die roller is skewing towards low end rolls. the last 9 rolls for this game have been 10 or under.

Suddenly, Cosmos draws his PPG and spins toward the wall. [i]Nothing there.
