I have to consider this,

I just know me, and I could easily abuse this too much.
Purely for my own amusement, of course. :P

Still,... I CAN see the 'experienced' and worldly Cleric of Caydean having a younger, brash and irrepressible youthful priest-in-training that he is constantly having to bail out of trouble. Sort of like a Dartagnan, (I can't spell that name)

Of course, it would REALLY be more likely that the young priest-in-training is the responsible one, constantly bailing his mentor out of trouble. :D

MWAH-HA-HAAA

Remember, these lackeys are NPC hirelings, not cohorts from the leadership feat, so I'll be playing them. :P

Legendary Merchant of Pins

I feeling someone owes me an apology for all their doubt about my class choice. :P

Even better! :)

Agreed!

Hm. Perhaps an expert at grooming ratfolk fur? It is quite a hassle to look presentable when you look like you've crawled out of a sewer. He can also clip his claws and file down his incisors when he doesn't feel like gnawing on something.

MWAH-HA-HAAA

I was thinking halfling lackey for Gerolamo, so there's no towering over the hero. I have a halfling warrior built, but that may not be the best NPC choice. Experts are kind of nice because of all the skills. It's fine to have 3-4 Knowledge skills on them so you guys don't have to worry about covering those.

Maybe a halfling librarian...?

Legendary Merchant of Pins

I wasn't really serious, lol. I was expecting something more on the lines of followers like Leadership that don't have any real stats and basically just watch your pony while your in the dungeon of demons. :P

Portia just probably has her maid and overqualified butler who would grab her and hustle her home if she got in over her head. Which I imagine would be a lot of the time, so they must be terrible at their job, or secretly indulge her beyond what might be prudent.

MWAH-HA-HAAA

I was kind of noodling about your character, pin, since you're not a Musketeer. You wouldn't have a lackey like Planchet or Grimaud, because they're hireling servants of a particular individual. There would be household servants, of course, but then I got thinking about something like Constance - a confidential lady's maid who's in on your secrets and willing to risk her life to help with them. I dunno. What do you think?

Legendary Merchant of Pins

I'm a tad surprised you want to basically have to play a suite of NPCs constantly to our PCs. I think the idea could be very fun, but only do it if you won't be burdened. ;)

The lackeys appear intermittently in the books, and I expect that to happen here. They give me a way to have you hooked in to the lower classes of Westcrown, too.

If you send them to do something, I will make rolls and summarize, too. No need to RP all their offscreen stuff.

MWAH-HA-HAAA

I'm beginning to think every adventurer needs a lackey.

GM Treppa wrote:

I,... will not disagree with this,... ;)

I AM working on my PC (for both new threads) even when I'm HOME I'm flippin busy!

Basically the same as the suggestion that you posted before Treppa, I'm tweaking a few things, but taking all of the advice and trying to find that one 'quirk' that I can use to make it a memorable PC.
(And the one I can have the most fun with!) ;P

MWAH-HA-HAAA

Hiya,

When you give me your character's personal info, be sure to include a thumbnail sketch of their personality. A few I know:

pin: spoiled brat longing to be a hero
Mahorf: Reepicheep! Excessively honorable tiny fighter.
Meows: Gambler to the bone, rolls dice to see what to eat for dinner.

If it's like one of the existing Musketeers, just name them.

Donkey,
Treppa

SO, Picked 1 trait
(Reckless, needed to make Acrobatics a Class skill, Very important!)

But there are SO many other fitting good ones! Both for a ladies man, and /or a cleric of Caydean!)

Accelerated drinker,
Thrill seeker
Fortified drinker
Alluring
Adventurous imbiber
Reckless Luck
Fast talker

So,... on with the rest of the PC, ;P

Hm,... I DO like the 'Freedom Variant Channel' power, but not thrilled about only healing (or harming) for 1/2 the usual amount.

And yes, NOW I'm posting my thoughts as I'm building the PC.
Sorry,...

;P

MWAH-HA-HAAA

No problem; glad you're working on it! Yell if you need anything.

You asked for it!
I mean, Thank you! ;)

OK, so I am used to playing Wizzies with High IQ, (And ergo lots of skill points) With a Int 10 Human I have 3 /lvl max (2 class +1 Human, if i don't put it into HP instead) :P

(Stats currently at: Str 10, Dex 16, Con 14, Int 10, Wis 16, Cha 14)

So,... Bluff looks very useful for a swashbuckling Cleric, but its not on the Cleric list. SO what trait gives you Bluff as a Class skill? (I guess I could just use it non-class, but it falls behind in usefulness pretty quickly)

I think I'd like to go the 'Amorous/Charming lover' Route with this guy, a'la Athos. (OK, he'll be the DRUNK amorous lover guy)
Even thinking of taking the Charm domain along with Travel.

I COULD use Diplomacy to charm my way into their skirts, But with Bluff being so useful in combat, ... (And it sounds more fun to BLUFF my way into,... certain situations!) :D

MWAH-HA-HAAA

+1 human no matter what, +1 favored class if you don't do HP. So that's potentially 2 per level over class+INT

Athos was a misogynist. :P

What about: Charming: Blessed with good looks, you've come to depend on the fact that others find you attractive. You gain a +1 trait bonus when you use Bluff or Diplomacy on a character that is (or could be) sexually attracted to you, and a +1 trait bonus to the save DC of any language-dependent spell you cast on such characters or creatures.

Or: Campaign Conspiracy Hunter (Council of Thieves) Choose one of the following skills: Bluff, Diplomacy, Knowledge (local), Perception, Sense Motive, or Stealth. You gain a +1 trait bonus on this skill and it is always considered a class skill for you.

Since this is a follow-on to CoT, you can use that one.

Oh yeah! Thx for the reminder!
:)

You don't happen to know off top of your head the Trait for Bluff as a class skill?
My favorite site for PF info (The D20PFSRD site) is flaking out on me today, keeps lagging out my PC, something about unresponsive scripts. :P

MWAH-HA-HAAA

See above, sorry for the edit. That's a campaign trait.

No worries, Thanks a lot!

Athos wuz a what now?!? :P

I've read the book several times, but it was WAY back in grade, middle and high school.

I guess I'm thinking the 1990's version of the movie, Where Porthos was a gadgeteer, and Athos was deeply religious, AND an unrepentant 'wooer of women'. :)

MWAH-HA-HAAA

Aramis was the clerical lover. Athos was an antisocial drunk.

OH yeah,
I'm being old and confused again. Aren't I? :/

ARAMIS, ATHOS they all sound the same after a while,... ;P

So , I'm going the ARAMIS route I think. :)

MWAH-HA-HAAA

Learning a lot about plotting and plotting tools for this campaign. Don't worry, though, we can get started as soon as you're ready, even before I have everything worked out. I know what's going to happen from level 1-3, at least.

MWAH-HA-HAAA

Can everyone be ready by Monday? I can make an intro post and we can get rolling.

Legendary Merchant of Pins

I'll do my best to be ready.

*blows accumulated waiting dust off of character sheet*

Finished!

Shouldn't be a problem, assuming I can make a freaking choice.

LOL! I know the feeling!

OK lads and lasses, here it is (A VERY short version, (the usual stat block) I usually keep a VERY long detailed character sheet in the profile, which admittedly makes it hard to find things sometimes) ;P

Lastwall Heroes - Current Date: Toilday, 31 Desnus, 4711 AR | Shadowrun - Current Date: Saturday, March 13, 2060

Okay, sorry -- it was my birthday weekend and there was a bit more time spent getting ready for people to come over than I'd expected (and, in fact, that was warranted based on people bailing).

That said, it'll be Vittorio (the bloodrager).

I kept wanting to do the Magus, but two things came up -- one, I could really only figure out a personality of the "I'm so intelligent I'll outthink you" type (because, of course, I wanted the appropriate musketeerish swagger), and it didn't really quite fit in with my plan (especially given that the ego would be a little off, as a non-full BAB class).

So, Vittorio's an Urban Bloodrager (per Heroes of the Streets), he's more about the controlled focused state of mind (and will most likely be boosting his dex more often) -- with the destined bloodline.

I'll get the sheet up and the background (at least a point form version) and the list of folks I know -- I'd say tonight, but it's already 8:30 and I've got to avoid being killed by the wife -- so let's say within 24 hours. Went destined bloodline -- Vittorio's going to be the affable, slightly annoying, impulsive person who literally knows he was born under a good sign and so doesn't necessarily worry about the negative consequences of his actions.

Happy post-b-day weekend Tilnar! ;P

MWAH-HA-HAAA

Belated happy birthday! Hope it was a good time. :)

I have either gotten into a patch of major allergens or am coming down with the flu and haven't gotten much sleep, which has discombobulated my writing. Do you mind if we review and finish characters, backstories, and lackeys this week so we're ready to roll? Oh, the other characteristic the Musketeers have is their lodgings. If you like, I can list a few places and costs and you guys can choose from among them, except for pinvendor who lives on the estate.

I'm going to spend tonight trying to sneeze softly so as not to wake the neighbors.

Male Human Urban Bloodrager 1

Ok, so, here's the crunchy bits. I'll fill in the blanks over the next few days and actually do a slightly better job than I would have based on the less rush.

Yeah I'm slow getting started, (Sorry!) but I'm almost ready now, a few more days to actually put it all together on my end is welcome! :)

Get better soon, Allergies or colds ,... they both stink! :P

Domenico iiiiiiiiiis

Lucky dice: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 5) = 11

Da best.

MWAH-HA-HAAA

Vittorio and Domenico - separated at birth?

Lastwall Heroes - Current Date: Toilday, 31 Desnus, 4711 AR | Shadowrun - Current Date: Saturday, March 13, 2060

Treppa - Just wanted to ask what rules (if any) would be used for feat retraining? (F'instance, if Vittorio gets Weapon Finesse as a class feature, can he retrain his feat?)

MWAH-HA-HAAA

I think it would be quicker and easier to say that if you get a feat already trained as a later class feature, you get a free bonus [type] feat in its place, like bonus combat feat for Wep Finesse.

Does that sound fair? I don't think it would be OP.

MWAH-HA-HAAA

A little light music while you finish up characters.

M Catfolk Daring Infiltrator 1

Sorry I've been seriously lacking in the discussion here. I'm preferring to go the swashbuckling Route with Theo.

Not picky about a lackey, expert sounds good, random race, gender etc is fine with me.

MWAH-HA-HAAA

Rolled randomly for Domenico, as that's in keeping with the spirit of the character, and came up with female elf adept.

Random for Theo is human male expert.

Male Human Urban Bloodrager 1

Ok, so I've sent my relationshippy thing to Treppa and set up my (point-form) history -- so I'm ready to go.

This is the only OFISHUL male catfolk avatar I could find, Theo, if you want to use it. There's a catfolk checkbox in the race list. Alternatively you could go rakshasa since avatar hands aren't in view.

- Treppa

MWAH-HA-HAAA

MWAH-HA-HAAA

OH, one last thing - I will use your forum avatar as your map marker by default. If you want a different one, email it to me and I'll be happy to use it. I have Mahorf's "Reepicheep" pic for mappage.

MWAH-HA-HAAA

Lackey Pics, let me know what you like for the map.

My elves must have ears pointy at all times! Adept2!

MWAH-HA-HAAA

They're still pointy under the cap! My ears are pointy under the veil, but you can't see them.

Can you? No, surely not.

MWAH-HA-HAAA

Pin, let me know what avatars you want to use, or if you like any of these:
