Dragonlance: Heroes of a New Age

Game Master Shalafi2412

What came before...:

Six months have passed since the War of Souls, an epic conflict that spanned the world of Krynn. After 39 years when the Gods have been silent and magic flowed unrestrained by the Moons, the Gods of Krynn have returned. The first among the Light, Paladine walks the earth as a mortal, while the Dark Queen Takhisis lies dead, leaving their places vacant among the heavens. Ansalon still bears scars of the decades where evil reigned upon the world in the Godless times. The Dark Knights of Neraka still subjugate numerous lands and the wicked minotaurs have begun a campaign of conquest. Many among the righteous and good have suffered in the Age of Mortals. Solamina's forces are weakened by the war, the elves are in exile, the Kender lands burned to ash and the dwarves in ever conflict with their darker brethren. Decades ago, the Companions saved the world from the brink of ruin. Now once again, heroes must rise and bring balance back to the world. Will you be among them?

Not a big fan of the nosferatu. Assamite, Brujah, or Toreadore. The last Assamite I played pretended to be a Toreador, the Baron made him break into the Tremere house to prove his loyalty. Was a crazy game. My buddy ran it table top. We were playing modern but used some rules from Dark Ages.

We payed a nosferatu tech guy to try and hack a bomb vest that had been put on the GM's girlfriends character by the technocracy. He triggered the bomb and blew up a chunk of mcdonalds and a piece of the malkavian sanctuary. He tended to be pretty hard on his girlfriends character. Best part was the nos packing up his gear and crawling back into the sewer before poling his head up and saying "Uh, No charge for this one." The rest of us found it pretty funny but the GM's girlfriend was not amused :)

I prefer the Requiem edition of Vampire. I find the NWOD system a lot more light and easier to use. While I had my share of fun with OWOD Vampire, it got annoying with too much dice rolling as you had to roll 4 sets of dice to resolve one action in combat (Attack, Dodge, Damage, Soak). This got even more clunky when you start to do multiple actions or make use of powers like Celerity. The was also difficulty modifiers you had to consider as well. The other thing I like about 2nd edition of the NWOD adds also "Condition" rules, with positive ones that can grant you some good advantages and negative conditions that hamper you. The XP system is also better in NWOD, as you get compensated by getting "Beats" when you get bad conditions or voluntary take dramatic failures, so the more you suffer in game the stronger you become in the long run.

Now I do admit I liked much of the Mega Plots better in OWOD, but it comes down to Mechanics VS Fluff debates I'ed rather not get into.

Female Human Cleric 9 | HP = 61/71 - AC=23 - Channel 0/9 - Tear 11/20 - Hero Points 1/1 - Fort +9, Ref +4, Will +13 - Ini +1 - Per +14 Cleric 9

The Nosferatu seem to receive little love from people on these boards. :-)

I ran Vampire table top for a long time took a group of players from 1190 through to 2000. My D&D table top game leaves little room for this as a table top so I transported the game to the Boards here a few years back.

The system is fairly easy to use Terevalis. I do agree that High Gods comments on the actions slow down the Table Top game but here I just have players roll all their actions at once, speeds things up considerably. This is also a more political campaign than an action one though soon enough there will be Blood!

Well if anyone changes their mind go ahead and PM me.

HP: 96 | AC:20 / Touch: 12 / FF: 16 | Init +4 | Perception +12 | Fort: +9 / Refl: +7 / Will: +4

well, I might consider but need to first clear all these hurdles out of my way first :) Also other PbP have slowed down a bit so might consider it although I do not own OWOD system. How easy it might be to get inside is another thing also

Female Human Cleric 9 | HP = 61/71 - AC=23 - Channel 0/9 - Tear 11/20 - Hero Points 1/1 - Fort +9, Ref +4, Will +13 - Ini +1 - Per +14 Cleric 9

The system is very easy Jor and most of the rules I have on my Campaign Tab.

Not character creation but that is simple enough.

I started this thread a few days ago in the Recruitment thread:

Anyone Interested in Running a DL Pathfinder game

Looks like there is some interest.

Isn't that what I am doing already?

M Silvanesti Elf Wizard (Necromancer) 6/5 Renegade Hunter Int +2 AC 22, touch 22, flat-footed 10 (+2 Dex) hp 44 (9d6+9) Fort +5, Ref +6, Will +7; +2 vs. enchantments Defensive Abilities resistance; Immune sleep;

Another DL game.

HP: 78/78, Arrows: 3, Arrows silver:5, Arrows cold steel 5, Heroic Surge: 2/3

This other Pathefinder DL game, is where he goes on a kender and minotaur killing spree :p

M Silvanesti Elf Wizard (Necromancer) 6/5 Renegade Hunter Int +2 AC 22, touch 22, flat-footed 10 (+2 Dex) hp 44 (9d6+9) Fort +5, Ref +6, Will +7; +2 vs. enchantments Defensive Abilities resistance; Immune sleep;

Lol. Hey I kept your afflicted self alive lol.

HP: 96 | AC:20 / Touch: 12 / FF: 16 | Init +4 | Perception +12 | Fort: +9 / Refl: +7 / Will: +4

oh god, what is going on here :P Just 10h off and there is already 40 post being made.

PS. The first roll of Alathea for Jor with Crit Confirmation did hit (as it was 27-> and Sivak had 27 AC :D) so need to roll another 2d6+19 there or just take the average)

M Silvanesti Elf Wizard (Necromancer) 6/5 Renegade Hunter Int +2 AC 22, touch 22, flat-footed 10 (+2 Dex) hp 44 (9d6+9) Fort +5, Ref +6, Will +7; +2 vs. enchantments Defensive Abilities resistance; Immune sleep;

The war of the Lance game looks like a go

M Silvanesti Elf Wizard (Necromancer) 6/5 Renegade Hunter Int +2 AC 22, touch 22, flat-footed 10 (+2 Dex) hp 44 (9d6+9) Fort +5, Ref +6, Will +7; +2 vs. enchantments Defensive Abilities resistance; Immune sleep;

I am fine going to either Darkhaven or the Desolation. Are we high enough level to sneak into Darkhaven?

Darkhaven falls into Spectre and Sorrows book. You're definitely a few levels lower than you should be. Also you've already been warned that a direct assault is certain death so you have to find a way to break into the Fortress.

Female Human Cleric 9 | HP = 61/71 - AC=23 - Channel 0/9 - Tear 11/20 - Hero Points 1/1 - Fort +9, Ref +4, Will +13 - Ini +1 - Per +14 Cleric 9

I think it has to be the Desolation first to get the second Tear before the Dark Knights do.

M Silvanesti Elf Wizard (Necromancer) 6/5 Renegade Hunter Int +2 AC 22, touch 22, flat-footed 10 (+2 Dex) hp 44 (9d6+9) Fort +5, Ref +6, Will +7; +2 vs. enchantments Defensive Abilities resistance; Immune sleep;

Ok. I just wanted to be sure.

M Silvanesti Elf Wizard (Necromancer) 6/5 Renegade Hunter Int +2 AC 22, touch 22, flat-footed 10 (+2 Dex) hp 44 (9d6+9) Fort +5, Ref +6, Will +7; +2 vs. enchantments Defensive Abilities resistance; Immune sleep;

Hope everyone is doing okay.

Yea doing just fine, just leaving some time for players to discuss plans before moving on with the next part of the game.

Female Human Cleric 9 | HP = 61/71 - AC=23 - Channel 0/9 - Tear 11/20 - Hero Points 1/1 - Fort +9, Ref +4, Will +13 - Ini +1 - Per +14 Cleric 9

I believe we are all agreed to head to the Desolation first and retrieve the Tears. Then to Kendermore, then to Darkhaven. From there I guess we will have to see what comes.

M Silvanesti Elf Wizard (Necromancer) 6/5 Renegade Hunter Int +2 AC 22, touch 22, flat-footed 10 (+2 Dex) hp 44 (9d6+9) Fort +5, Ref +6, Will +7; +2 vs. enchantments Defensive Abilities resistance; Immune sleep;

That is also my understanding

M Silvanesti Elf Wizard (Necromancer) 6/5 Renegade Hunter Int +2 AC 22, touch 22, flat-footed 10 (+2 Dex) hp 44 (9d6+9) Fort +5, Ref +6, Will +7; +2 vs. enchantments Defensive Abilities resistance; Immune sleep;

Are Jor and the kender still with us?

HP: 96 | AC:20 / Touch: 12 / FF: 16 | Init +4 | Perception +12 | Fort: +9 / Refl: +7 / Will: +4

Still here, the whole time. Not seeing much space for me to interract or to speak to that matter. Jor is your typical farmer with 10 intellect, all brawns and mister-charming-prince combined to overrun people

HP: 78/78, Arrows: 3, Arrows silver:5, Arrows cold steel 5, Heroic Surge: 2/3

Just a heads up, I will be without internet from 20th to 24th November, as I travel.

I'm back will be tomorrow before I catch up on the Gameplay.

M Silvanesti Elf Wizard (Necromancer) 6/5 Renegade Hunter Int +2 AC 22, touch 22, flat-footed 10 (+2 Dex) hp 44 (9d6+9) Fort +5, Ref +6, Will +7; +2 vs. enchantments Defensive Abilities resistance; Immune sleep;

We start our Thanksgiving vacation after school today. I should be on a bit more but I might have to travel, my dad might need heart surgery in Colorado.

HP: 78/78, Arrows: 3, Arrows silver:5, Arrows cold steel 5, Heroic Surge: 2/3

I am still living. Internet now sorted for vacation in Europe.

M Silvanesti Elf Wizard (Necromancer) 6/5 Renegade Hunter Int +2 AC 22, touch 22, flat-footed 10 (+2 Dex) hp 44 (9d6+9) Fort +5, Ref +6, Will +7; +2 vs. enchantments Defensive Abilities resistance; Immune sleep;

Looks like bypass before the New Year.

I am sure it will go well, these surgeries are not as invasive as they used to be from what I understand.

Thanks! That is my understanding as well!

From 15th to 16th December I wont be available to post as I be traveling home from vacation.

Just something I thought of now.

Athola was born and grew up in the ruins of Kendermore. Would she not have plenty knowledge of Kendermore itself, the creatures, the hidden routes the kender resistance would know.

When I created Athola I did not realize the adventure would take her to Kendermore. Just was looking at afflicted kender to compliment the intended rogue in mind.

Boy it has been quiet for a while. Have you decided what questions to ask the Oracles yet?

We are still trying to figure out what to give.

not really, Alathea is cool giving up the hammer or you can try to give up the dagger we are waiting on you to decide. If you don't that cool we will give up the hammer and move forward.

While we are chatting here does anyone have any question suggestions. I'm cool with the three Alathea proposed. We know the dark knights are working with the lord of bones now. Perhaps a means to weaken this new power would help. What do you guys think?

I am not sure a means to weaken his power will grant anything but a vague response :-)

HP: 78/78, Arrows: 3, Arrows silver:5, Arrows cold steel 5, Heroic Surge: 2/3

Oki the dagger is presented for all to see. Now how is the elf going to get corrupted even more.

First and third questions definitely most relevant to the current quest. Curing of elves or afflicted kender are bonus information.

Better yet, what is a weakness that can be exploited to our advantage.

Not the gods power a means to weaken the bond or deal he as struck up with the dark knights that will in turn weaken both maybe? It's a reach.

HP: 96 | AC:20 / Touch: 12 / FF: 16 | Init +4 | Perception +12 | Fort: +9 / Refl: +7 / Will: +4

hmm, hard to decide. maybe hammer after all.

I am having good fun with the Oracles. I consider myself a pretty good poet so having a good deal of their words rhyme really makes their prophecies enjoyable to write. They only gave vague guidelines of what the oracles will tell you in the book so I had to customise the responses to the questions asked.

Very well done indeed.

So assuming they want us to find dragons, do we continue with our other questions or do we ask for guidance to help find the dragons.

HP: 78/78, Arrows: 3, Arrows silver:5, Arrows cold steel 5, Heroic Surge: 2/3

Nice going there. Brilliant work on your part. :)

Assume what you want. You'll need a History, Arcana or Religion check to better interpret the answer. Its a high difficulty though, DC 25 (Usually 30 but the hints in the answer reduce the difficulty)

M Silvanesti Elf Wizard (Necromancer) 6/5 Renegade Hunter Int +2 AC 22, touch 22, flat-footed 10 (+2 Dex) hp 44 (9d6+9) Fort +5, Ref +6, Will +7; +2 vs. enchantments Defensive Abilities resistance; Immune sleep;

I like your poetry.

HP: 78/78, Arrows: 3, Arrows silver:5, Arrows cold steel 5, Heroic Surge: 2/3

Love the last one.

How long does it take you to write these responses of three?

How do we do HP again? Is it roll and if it is bellow Half we get half or is it half +1. I should remember as I think I have rolled bellow 5 every time.

Roll but if you get less than half your Hit die, you get half.

Female Human Cleric 9 | HP = 61/71 - AC=23 - Channel 0/9 - Tear 11/20 - Hero Points 1/1 - Fort +9, Ref +4, Will +13 - Ini +1 - Per +14 Cleric 9

Alathea - Cleric 6
HP = 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 +2 Con +1 Favored Class
Base Attack +1
All Saves +1
+1 2nd & 3rd Level Spell Per Day.
+3 Skill Points (+1 for Human) - Perception, Knowledge Religion, Sense Motive.
I also gain Spell Domain Powers -

Remote Viewing (Sp): Starting at 6th level, you can use clairvoyance/clairaudience at will as a spell-like ability using your cleric level as the caster level. You can use this ability for a number of rounds per day equal to your cleric level. These rounds do not need to be consecutive.

Empty Mind (Su): At 6th level, you may apply the Empowered Spell feat to a spell you are about to cast without increasing the casting time. This ability does not use up a higher-level spell slot. You can use this ability once per day at 6th level, and one additional time per day for every six cleric levels you possess beyond 6th.

HP: 1d10 ⇒ 5 Half again the streak continues.

Drat.... I don't have my PDFs or the character templates documents with me to level to 6. I will have access to them when home on the 17th December.
