Dragonlance: Heroes of a New Age

Game Master Shalafi2412

What came before...:

Six months have passed since the War of Souls, an epic conflict that spanned the world of Krynn. After 39 years when the Gods have been silent and magic flowed unrestrained by the Moons, the Gods of Krynn have returned. The first among the Light, Paladine walks the earth as a mortal, while the Dark Queen Takhisis lies dead, leaving their places vacant among the heavens. Ansalon still bears scars of the decades where evil reigned upon the world in the Godless times. The Dark Knights of Neraka still subjugate numerous lands and the wicked minotaurs have begun a campaign of conquest. Many among the righteous and good have suffered in the Age of Mortals. Solamina's forces are weakened by the war, the elves are in exile, the Kender lands burned to ash and the dwarves in ever conflict with their darker brethren. Decades ago, the Companions saved the world from the brink of ruin. Now once again, heroes must rise and bring balance back to the world. Will you be among them?

Would I be able to trade the dagger in for stuff at the tower?

Ah that would be a RP interaction Terevalis. One I will certainly do on Monday when we have the time.

HP: 78/78, Arrows: 3, Arrows silver:5, Arrows cold steel 5, Heroic Surge: 2/3

Tomorrow 6th to 8th October I will not have internet where I be staying, while doing some community activities in another city.

Ok I am back from my fun weekend people, the game can continue. I will resolve what happens with Terevalis when he shows the dagger to Zoe.

Terevalis reveals the dagger to Zoe unwrapping it from the cloth he has put it in. Zoe looks at the dagger her eyes widened and casts some spells over it examining the dagger carefully without touching it.

Zoe says, "Terevalis, this dagger bears symbols to Chemosh and from what I can tell and has an intelligence of its own. I don't think I want to have such an item around here as it likey is extremely dangerous. As for its purpose I do not know exactly but I could use one of my Legends Lore scrolls to get further information. Still that is quite an investment as it is a powerful spell to use. Do you feel this is a worthwhile venture to use on it?"

M Silvanesti Elf Wizard (Necromancer) 6/5 Renegade Hunter Int +2 AC 22, touch 22, flat-footed 10 (+2 Dex) hp 44 (9d6+9) Fort +5, Ref +6, Will +7; +2 vs. enchantments Defensive Abilities resistance; Immune sleep;

The dagger can impel people to its will. I bid me at first to grab it. I think that it wanted more but I was able to fight off the telepathic urgings.

HP: 78/78, Arrows: 3, Arrows silver:5, Arrows cold steel 5, Heroic Surge: 2/3

We in the discussion thread. :)

Zoe nods and says, "Well then I definitely don't want it then. As much as I like a strong dagger, I do not want to risk a dagger cursed by the God of Death and Undeath taking control of me. My advice would be to destroy the weapon."

When she says that Terevalis make a will save as the voice he heard before yells into his mind, "Do not allow her to destroy me! My power can be yours to slay all that oppose you! Do not let her pathetic morals sway you from taking the power you deserve."

If Terevalis fails this save he will NOT want to destroy the dagger and will try and prevent any attempt to do so.

M Silvanesti Elf Wizard (Necromancer) 6/5 Renegade Hunter Int +2 AC 22, touch 22, flat-footed 10 (+2 Dex) hp 44 (9d6+9) Fort +5, Ref +6, Will +7; +2 vs. enchantments Defensive Abilities resistance; Immune sleep;

Will 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 5 + 2 = 12 if it is an enchantment.

12 is not enough.

Terevalis does not want to destroy the dagger or let anyone take it from him. Its power is his alone and no one else. How he acts on this is up to his character.

M Silvanesti Elf Wizard (Necromancer) 6/5 Renegade Hunter Int +2 AC 22, touch 22, flat-footed 10 (+2 Dex) hp 44 (9d6+9) Fort +5, Ref +6, Will +7; +2 vs. enchantments Defensive Abilities resistance; Immune sleep;

I believe Lady Zoe that its power can be harnessed in a way that would aid the Wizards of High Sorcery. he says as puts it away.

Zoe raises an eyebrow and says, "Well if you feel you can control the item then by all means take it. I myself do not want to even touch such a thing of evil. I may have done some questionable things in my time but I'm not the type to fool around with something like that. Appreciatively could you keep that thing sheathed while you're in my tower. I don't want to look on it again."

M Silvanesti Elf Wizard (Necromancer) 6/5 Renegade Hunter Int +2 AC 22, touch 22, flat-footed 10 (+2 Dex) hp 44 (9d6+9) Fort +5, Ref +6, Will +7; +2 vs. enchantments Defensive Abilities resistance; Immune sleep;

That is the reason you wear the Red and I wear the Black Robes, Mistress. Also, where would I go to get a cold iron crescent shaped dagger?

Zoe says, "There are smiths in this city that can create such items of mundane quality. I would recommend going to the Iron Anvil weapon shop. Abbas Houssam owns the shop but his work partner Dursaet Thontak is a fine dwarf smith. I have had him create some masterwork items in the past to act as a good base for enchantment."

M Silvanesti Elf Wizard (Necromancer) 6/5 Renegade Hunter Int +2 AC 22, touch 22, flat-footed 10 (+2 Dex) hp 44 (9d6+9) Fort +5, Ref +6, Will +7; +2 vs. enchantments Defensive Abilities resistance; Immune sleep;

And what of the elven makers in town? I much prefer their designs to those of dwarves.

Zoe shrugs and says, "Maybe there is some but I do not purchase their crafts. I did enchant a few items for Lord Summerhazel, the Merchant Lord of the Elven Quarter though out of necessity it seems as he has no Wizards of his own. Being a Half-human as they say is too human for their liking"

M Silvanesti Elf Wizard (Necromancer) 6/5 Renegade Hunter Int +2 AC 22, touch 22, flat-footed 10 (+2 Dex) hp 44 (9d6+9) Fort +5, Ref +6, Will +7; +2 vs. enchantments Defensive Abilities resistance; Immune sleep;

There are no talents or members of House Mystic among them?

GM am I able to work on the sword that Summerhazel needs?

Zoe says, "Not that I know of. I heard that a good deal of the surviving Silvanesti wizards have headed towards the tower of Wayreth. They could be other places though but certainly not here as otherwise they would be obligated to present themselves as I am the administrator of the tower here in this city."

M Silvanesti Elf Wizard (Necromancer) 6/5 Renegade Hunter Int +2 AC 22, touch 22, flat-footed 10 (+2 Dex) hp 44 (9d6+9) Fort +5, Ref +6, Will +7; +2 vs. enchantments Defensive Abilities resistance; Immune sleep;

To travel to the mythical and legendary Tower of Wayreth. Longoing have I dreamed of traveling to the hallowed halls of the Tower of Wayreth. Tell me Mistress would the forest allow me entrance now that I have declared allegiance to the OEder of the Black Robes¿

Zoe says, "Most certainly the forest would grant you passage Terevalis as it does all tested wizards. I would not recommend going on foot however. Once the forests were safely cared for by the Qualenesti but now they are overun with Goblins that will likey kill any non-goblin on sight. That is why the tradition had to change. Any novice wizard attempting to reach the tower by non-magical means would be butchered by those foul creatures. The conclaive has few recruits as it is, we can't have their lives wasted in such a fashion hence why the wizard sanctums have been given dispensation to perform the test in their local areas rather than send recruits on a periless journey. Fortunately the tower itself is a safe haven. The Goblins lack the means to bypass the magical grove and the potentent magical defences of the tower and there are spells that hide the tower from their scouts."

M Silvanesti Elf Wizard (Necromancer) 6/5 Renegade Hunter Int +2 AC 22, touch 22, flat-footed 10 (+2 Dex) hp 44 (9d6+9) Fort +5, Ref +6, Will +7; +2 vs. enchantments Defensive Abilities resistance; Immune sleep;

It seems many, the Green Overlord, the Kingpriest, the Knights of the Thorn, have all sought passage to the halls of the Tower. Perhaps, if I sit on the Conclave one day, I will be able to look at the library of books and artificats. as he works on the magical sword.

Zoe says, "Wayreth is a place that all wizards must see in their lifetime. I doubt there is any other place in the world that you will find more magical lore that the Tower of Wayreth. Still I have heard that there is also a Tower in Nightlund as well, the one time Tower of Palanthas. Perhaps it is better the tower was moved from there considering the Dark Knights still control the Ancient city. If it were still there I am sure they would try and get their grubby hands on whatever lore still remains there. For now the tower is off limits to all wizards until the Gods of Magic decide who will rule it. Rumor has it that the White Robes are being considered for stewardship of the tower and the Black Robes have been discounted for that role due to something Dalamar did during the War of Souls."

Alright, I am finally moved in and mostly up and running, time to catch up on my threads...

M Silvanesti Elf Wizard (Necromancer) 6/5 Renegade Hunter Int +2 AC 22, touch 22, flat-footed 10 (+2 Dex) hp 44 (9d6+9) Fort +5, Ref +6, Will +7; +2 vs. enchantments Defensive Abilities resistance; Immune sleep;

Interesting. The Doom Spire is to be used by the followers of Solinari. Will that not weaken the ranks of the Order? I am not sure tha the Curse of Androch has been lifted and to fight their way into the former territory of the Knight of the Black Rose. Well, that should not be fun. It seems however, that the Whites have their Tower and the Reds have their own, what is to become of the Black Robes?

Zoe says in response, "Well I like to think that Wayreth is for all wizards no matter the colour but as Jenna is the current Master of the Tower and Highmage, the tower would technically be under the control of the Red. As for the curse of Androch, it probably still exists but I am sure the Gods of Magic can lift the curse once they decide to open up its halls to Wizards once again. If Wizardry is to flourish, we will need to claim whatever magic we can from the past. With two towers active it should strengthen the power of the Wizards as a whole, no matter who rules it among us. I do not know what the fate of the Black Robes will be. All the other great towers fell in ages past. Perhaps a new tower can be built in the future that the Black Robes can call home."

M Silvanesti Elf Wizard (Necromancer) 6/5 Renegade Hunter Int +2 AC 22, touch 22, flat-footed 10 (+2 Dex) hp 44 (9d6+9) Fort +5, Ref +6, Will +7; +2 vs. enchantments Defensive Abilities resistance; Immune sleep;

To be the Master of a Tower or a member of the Conclave... But I digress how is Cole's studying coming along?

Zoe concerning Cole says, "Cole is actually is doing quite well. His training from the academy of sorcerer shows in the methods he uses his magic. Plus having him around has eased up my workload substantially. I really needed an extra pair of hands around here. If only I could get more students like him here and I could work to make this beat up old tower into a respectable academy of magical education."

M Silvanesti Elf Wizard (Necromancer) 6/5 Renegade Hunter Int +2 AC 22, touch 22, flat-footed 10 (+2 Dex) hp 44 (9d6+9) Fort +5, Ref +6, Will +7; +2 vs. enchantments Defensive Abilities resistance; Immune sleep;

if only those fool Legion sorcerers would undergo their epiphany. How close is Cole's to Testing?

Zoe says, "Maybe in a few more months. He may be talented in mind but he's rather a craven in his nature. He needs more strength of will and discipline before I am willing to let him take the test, especially since I don't have a replacement apprentice in case the test takes his life. Other that that he is progressing nicely with his studies. He is quite excited learning new spells and the veresility being a wizard can bring."

M Silvanesti Elf Wizard (Necromancer) 6/5 Renegade Hunter Int +2 AC 22, touch 22, flat-footed 10 (+2 Dex) hp 44 (9d6+9) Fort +5, Ref +6, Will +7; +2 vs. enchantments Defensive Abilities resistance; Immune sleep;

May I make a suggestion then to you Mistress? I am aware of my new duty to the Conclave and the Orders. It would not do to travel with one so young and see to his training. I will provide some money now for you to train Anwar provided I am his sponsor and he wears the appropriate color robes. I think I will be traveling to dark places that one his age should not yet have to venture down.

M Silvanesti Elf Wizard (Necromancer) 6/5 Renegade Hunter Int +2 AC 22, touch 22, flat-footed 10 (+2 Dex) hp 44 (9d6+9) Fort +5, Ref +6, Will +7; +2 vs. enchantments Defensive Abilities resistance; Immune sleep;

Are we still on the first day of the crafting of the sword?

Zoe says, "I would be glad to provide some training to your apprentice. It does appear you have a lot of traveling planned and the world is a pretty rough place out there. If you can leave some money for his care I will make sure he receives instruction. After all it is one of my duties to tend to new recruits."

Yes, still day 1 Terevalis.

M Silvanesti Elf Wizard (Necromancer) 6/5 Renegade Hunter Int +2 AC 22, touch 22, flat-footed 10 (+2 Dex) hp 44 (9d6+9) Fort +5, Ref +6, Will +7; +2 vs. enchantments Defensive Abilities resistance; Immune sleep;

I do not know where my travels will lead me or down what paths. But here he will be safe, fed, taken care of.

Reaching into a pouch he will pull out 2 platinum. Will this do?

Can I add a few more spells to my book?

Zoe nods, "that should be enough for his food and lodgings during your departure. If there is anything extra I will inform you when next you return."

M Silvanesti Elf Wizard (Necromancer) 6/5 Renegade Hunter Int +2 AC 22, touch 22, flat-footed 10 (+2 Dex) hp 44 (9d6+9) Fort +5, Ref +6, Will +7; +2 vs. enchantments Defensive Abilities resistance; Immune sleep;

He will nod. Now may I take a look at the library and beg a favor? Can you send Cole to the dwarf to commission the dagger?

Zoe says, "I can send Cole on an errand. And the Library is yours to look at. As a wizard of the orders you have access to tower resources."

Zoe sends Cole to get the dagger.

Just pay the money and you can get a weapon to your specifications.

M Silvanesti Elf Wizard (Necromancer) 6/5 Renegade Hunter Int +2 AC 22, touch 22, flat-footed 10 (+2 Dex) hp 44 (9d6+9) Fort +5, Ref +6, Will +7; +2 vs. enchantments Defensive Abilities resistance; Immune sleep;

How much would it be for a MW cold iron dagger? Is there a markup?

M Silvanesti Elf Wizard (Necromancer) 6/5 Renegade Hunter Int +2 AC 22, touch 22, flat-footed 10 (+2 Dex) hp 44 (9d6+9) Fort +5, Ref +6, Will +7; +2 vs. enchantments Defensive Abilities resistance; Immune sleep;

I hope that everyone is doing ok.

Sovereign Court

Female Sylph Druid 1 (Sky Druid)

Not for a Non-Magical item, just pay the book cost plus masterwork. Now if you want to pay for advanced masterworking then it will cost more and it will take more time

M Silvanesti Elf Wizard (Necromancer) 6/5 Renegade Hunter Int +2 AC 22, touch 22, flat-footed 10 (+2 Dex) hp 44 (9d6+9) Fort +5, Ref +6, Will +7; +2 vs. enchantments Defensive Abilities resistance; Immune sleep;

I would like a cold iron MW dagger in the shape of a crescent moon.

yep doing fine, just reading along.

He will try to add false life and dispel magic to his book after study in the library.

Dispel magic is readily available. False life is also available I suppose as its only a level 2 spell.

I have today off from school but am at the vets with one of my kitty cats. He is getting 2 teeth removed.

Boy that's going to be a lot of $$$

Not too bad. He came out of it okay. I have been paying towards it for a about a month.

Hope not the canines. Guess getting plenty pampering now.

Not the canines. They are a little further back. They had to remove the same tooth on opposite sides. He had lesions on them.
