Male Human Ranger (trapper) 4. HP: 40/40 AC: 19/13/16 F:+6 R:+7 W:+4 Init:+3 Perc: +9

Giles unloads his blunderbuss on the orc and dog, being careful not to hit Zigil with the cone of pellets (note scatter shot ignores concealment).

Orc shot vs Touch AC: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 121d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Dog shot vs Touch AC: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 171d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

He then stows the blunderbuss.

Male Elder GM

The pellets from Giles' blunderbuss rip into both the orc and the dog, and the dog collapses. The orc doesn't look like she should be standing either.

Morgrom's smell Eldan's spell damages the raider.

As Grodar bends to pick up his weapon, the orc dishonourably strikes at him.

Halfling Slayer 4 Init +5; Per+10; AC 19, T14, F16; HP 36; F+6, R+8, W+3; BAB +4

Slei will attempt to fire at the orc through the smoke.

Male Elder GM

The orc is heavily wounded, and seems to be slowing, but tenaciously continues her assault against Grodar, dropping the guardsman.

GM: Does she seem to be wearing an amulet or other device that could be causing this effect?

Con Check: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13

Male Elder GM

Giles strikes down the beast master with a powerful blow.

No amulet.

Grodar stabilizes

out of initiative, but we need to stay in rounds. Giles has already acted for this round, Slei and Eldan have not.
And I still need a Fort save from Ziggy.

Male Elf Wizard Lvl: 4 HP: 17 AC: 13/10/13 F: 1 R: 4 W: 7 Init: 4 Percep: 6

"Quickly, we must get Master-iss Ziggy out of the smoke." Holding his breath, Eldan moves up and tries to drag Ziggy out of the smoke.

Male Elder GM

Eldan manages to get in and drag Ziggy clear.

I still need Fort Saves from Eldan (+2 bonus) and Ziggy. And a Con check from Ziggy (at -1) if he fails the Fort save (DC 21). If Ziggy passes the save, we can drop out of round-by-round.

Eldan's Fort save is no longer relevant.

The party manages to reconvene near The Killin' Ground. Grodar and Zigil are unconscious but stable. Garm eats some grass at the side of the building.

Eldan says, "Do any of you have any potions of healing?" He then begins rummaging through Ziggy's gear for the banner. Once he has it, he inspects it to see if he can trigger it in some way.

Male Elder GM

I think Ziggy was tracking the treasure. Any potions are probably in her gear.

Male Human Ranger (trapper) 4. HP: 40/40 AC: 19/13/16 F:+6 R:+7 W:+4 Init:+3 Perc: +9

I will rummage through Zigils things in the hopes of finding a healing potion.

You will find one. Or two. or 16 or so. Everything is under the Loot spoiler on my sheet. I should move it to an editable spreadsheet. Anything that's claimed, I tried to note. Anything that's unclaimed is just in the list.

potion for Zigil: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

"Gather round friends, champions of Trunau." Zigil unfurls the banner. "Gather the fallen and the weary unto me."

When everyone is gathered beneath the banner, she speaks the words given to her by Jingh, "Under the shield of the Inheritor, our sword-arms shall not weary!"

Male Elder GM

Grodar was at -1

Can I have a do over?:
Ummmm, yeah. Can I walk back that previous post? I was thinking of 5th edition rules where everyone gets back all their hit points over night. I wanted the healing, and the refresh on spells would have just been a bonus. Sorry about that.

Instead of the banner: Zigil moves to the center of the group, and calls on Iomedae for healing 2 x channel energy: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 5) = 8

And then, she will cast cure light wounds: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 on Grodar.

"We have six potions of cure light left." She hands two to Giles, and two to Grodar, one to Slei, and one to Eldan.

Male Elder GM

My post was based on the original channel.
Do you still wish to use the banner as well? Eldan might have ideas about this.

Androgynous Aasimar Cleric 4; Init +0; Darkvision 60; Per +10; AC 19 (flat 19/touch 10/shieldless 17); HP 36; F+6, R +1, W+8

Zigil is open to advisement on the banner. (She is out of 1st level spells (i.e. CLWs), and has one channel left for the day. On the other hand, the higher level we get, the more powerful the banner is for us.)

Male Elf Wizard Lvl: 4 HP: 17 AC: 13/10/13 F: 1 R: 4 W: 7 Init: 4 Percep: 6

I have no spells left either but I have my Arcane Bond and a pearl of power I can use. If the rest are okay we might be able to finish this up.

Male Elder GM

Okay then, where to next?
Or do you want to do something boring like check for treasure?

Male Human Ranger (trapper) 4. HP: 40/40 AC: 19/13/16 F:+6 R:+7 W:+4 Init:+3 Perc: +9

We search for treasure!

Male Elder GM

The orc beast-tamer was wearing leather armour, and armed with an orc double-axe and 3 javelins. She had a bag of caltrops and a belt pouch which contains 2 flasks of acid, 2 potions, and 36 gp. When detect magic is cast, the potions and her scabbard show magical auras.

Androgynous Aasimar Cleric 4; Init +0; Darkvision 60; Per +10; AC 19 (flat 19/touch 10/shieldless 17); HP 36; F+6, R +1, W+8

potion: Spellcraft: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
potion: Spellcraft: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
scabbard: Spellcraft: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

Male Elder GM

Zigil determines that the potions are both cure light wounds.

Androgynous Aasimar Cleric 4; Init +0; Darkvision 60; Per +10; AC 19 (flat 19/touch 10/shieldless 17); HP 36; F+6, R +1, W+8

What kind of scabbard? Longsword?

Male Elder GM

The scabbard looks like it would hold one end of the double-axe.

However, as Zigil looks at it and thinks about a longsword, it re-shapes itself so it could hold a longsword.

Male Elf Wizard Lvl: 4 HP: 17 AC: 13/10/13 F: 1 R: 4 W: 7 Init: 4 Percep: 6

Spellcraft on Scabbard: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 9 + 2 = 15

Male Elder GM

Eldan is also unable to determine if the scabbard does anything beyond changing shape.

Male Human Ranger (trapper) 4. HP: 40/40 AC: 19/13/16 F:+6 R:+7 W:+4 Init:+3 Perc: +9

"Hmph well I'll take the thing if you're just going to stand around staring at it."

Male Half-orc Brawler 4 Init +1; Per +7; AC 18, T 12, F 16; HP 30/35; F +6, R +6, W +2

"Well, let's get to the next beacon."

Male Elder GM

The green smoke still fills the area between the burning trees.

Do you wish to rush through the smoke, or try to bypass it somehow? The looters are still to the north.

Male Elder GM

If you're having trouble picturing things, don't forget all of the battle maps are just close-ups of the Inner Quarter map.

Male Half-orc Brawler 4 Init +1; Per +7; AC 18, T 12, F 16; HP 30/35; F +6, R +6, W +2

"We need to get to the Hopespring somehow. Should we try to sneak past the looters to get there, or risk going through the smoke?"

Androgynous Aasimar Cleric 4; Init +0; Darkvision 60; Per +10; AC 19 (flat 19/touch 10/shieldless 17); HP 36; F+6, R +1, W+8

"I say we go straight through. Everyone hold your breath, and we'll stretch a rope between us so no one gets lost. If we hurry through the smoke shouldn't hurt us."

Before going through, Zigil will scan the way ahead with detect magic on the off-chance that there are more magic-carryin' miscreants.

Male Human Ranger (trapper) 4. HP: 40/40 AC: 19/13/16 F:+6 R:+7 W:+4 Init:+3 Perc: +9

"Couldn't we get there by going back and around past the commons? Or just sneak through those ruined buildings to the right of the looters? I don't like Garm's odds of making it through that smoke."

Male Elder GM

The first option Giles said is difficult. Big cliff.

Male Human Ranger (trapper) 4. HP: 40/40 AC: 19/13/16 F:+6 R:+7 W:+4 Init:+3 Perc: +9

"Senaking past the orcs shouldn't be so hard. There is plenty of cover."

Male Elder GM

Does anybody else have an opinion on which certain doom they want to choose?

Sneaking by the looters sounds good survivable.

Male Human Ranger (trapper) 4. HP: 40/40 AC: 19/13/16 F:+6 R:+7 W:+4 Init:+3 Perc: +9

Can we fit between the building at the west wall and the wall itself? Does the smoke extend that far?
