"Come along, Maddie. Togarin, do you mind if we leave through one of those doors?" The Varisian indicates the doors in the western wall.

"That door leads to my private quarters." Togarin gestures to the righthand door in the western wall. "It is off limits as you might imagine. The other leads to areas occupied by Daegros, and by Vuzhon when she was still trapped here."

László gives the gnome a quick glare, which probably goes unnoticed. "No, no. I am sure that Togarin would have told us if that were possible, yes? We should leave now. Our apologies for continuing to disturb you, Master Togarin. Come along." The Varisian heads for the lefthand door.

Leaving Togarin, the group passes through the lefthand door into a smaller chamber with a stone basin, about the size of a large bathtub, full of some kind of viscid blue-green fluid. Bearlor's size makes the area seem a bit cramped.

You hear laughing again in the area near the ripped painting.

    Knowledge Arcana DC 12:

This is a magical beast called a girallon. Girallons are among the jungle's most dangerous predators. They are aggressive, carnivorous, highly territorial, and incredibly strong. Worse, their four muscular arms are capable of inflicting incredible damage on anything that falls into their clutches. Their exotic appearance makes them popular creatures in certain cities as attractions in gladiatorial combats, either starved and pitted against each other, or set against gladiators eager to increase their fame and notoriety. One who kills a girallon is all but assured of fame, yet most battles against these ferocious beasts end poorly for those foolish enough to attempt to single-handedly defeat one. An adult girallon is 8 feet tall, broad-chested, and covered in thick, pure white fur. It weighs roughly 800 pounds.

    Knowledge Arcana DC 17:

Girallons are basically just bigger tougher gorillas with four arms.

Maddie casts Sanctuary on herself and moves to the other side of the room, hoping her magic will keep the gorilla from striking her.

Moving will provoke an AoO, but a DC 14 Will save needs to be made to attack her as per Sanctuary.

The gorilla is grappled, so I don't think it can make AoOs. Does that change Maddie's action?

    Yes, yes it does.

Assuming the laughter she was sometimes hearing was coming from some hidden creature, Maddie casts Invisibility Purge and moves to the other side of the room where she last heard it. Unless she uncovers an invisible creature waiting to eat her by moving that far.

The radius of the spell is 30ft at level 6.

Pai, I held your action for now because Glitterdust has a 10' radius and there is way to put it in there without hitting Barlor, Ing, or László. Maddie's invisibility purge reveals the troublemaker anyway, so you can change actions of you like.

The girallon falls to László's arrows.

Maddie then casts a spell and enters the chamber. Suddenly, a small demon-like winged creature appears next to Ing!

It stops in mid laugh and notices you all looking at it. "Sh'beel!"

"Ah the root of the problem becomes clear. Creature, stop this nonsense. If you don't we will be forced to blast you.". Pai repeats this in both Common and Infernal, hoping it might understand one of those languages.
