Turg will cast Haste on 8 allies (which I think is everyone with a name, minus myself and including Rozimus+animal companions) and inform the mites to attack the incorporeal beings when they close distance (which is utterly useless.)

Wait, I might be confusing my pbps; fighting a ghost of something in another game. Same actions for me, regardless, but yeah. That might be wrong on my part.

Looks like a big post of mine got eaten somehow. Here are the basics:
Barlor begins summoning.
László shoots one of the wights. With a little extra sneak attack damage for acting before they do.
Maddie blesses the party and Turg hasted them.
The wights attack. One moves around the balcony and misses Barlor with a sword.
The second leaps off the balcony and misses László with a mace.

"More disgusting undead, this place is terrible!" Maddie exclaims with a mixture of anger and revulsion as she moves forward and prays to Pharasma for some extra power to help the group destroy the wights.
Casting Prayer. Allies receive a +1 luck bonus on attack rolls, weapon damage rolls, saves, and skill checks, while the wights get a -1 to all those rolls. This stacks with the other two buffs.

Pinned between the wight and the bear, László attempts to dodge past his attacker before firing again. Since László acts before Maddie, I'm not taking the prayer bonuses yet.

Pai sends in more magic missiles as Ayaki closes to slash down the injured wight facing László.
Barlor's eagles tear the second wight to shreds, then Barlor rips it from the balcony and smashes it against the ground until it no longer moves.
László jumps back and lines up a good shot, but the wights are both already defeated.
Rozimus looks on with his mouth open.
"Those were my friends... Gursh. And Calea. What are they? How did this happen to them?"

![]() |

"They were wights, a form of the undead. I'm afraid they were probably ambushed by others' resulting in the state we found them in." Maddie explains, choosing to remain truthful rather than softening the blow with prevarications, "I will say prayers for them right now to make sure their souls are released and free to move to the afterlife."
True to her word, Maddie kneels before the remains of each of the bodies and briefly enacts the appropriate rites for this type of unfortunate situation.

Snave searches the room, but finds nothing hidden. Pai, however, as an academic and wizard of some experience, recognizes the true treasure here. The library is a storehouse of ancient Azlanti lore and contains accumulated lore worth thousands of gold in the right hands.
As the library is explored, Rozimus sits at next to the corpses of his fallen comrades, looking defeated. "There was only one other with us." He replies to László. "A wizard by the name of Ozrion..."
As he speaks, he seems to fade and become translucent, much like the Rozimus you saw with this companions back in the first chamber. He looks up, then looks around with a startled expression. He calls out, but cannot be heard. Standing, he stumbles around the room in a panic. He begins to run back the way you came, but fades completely from sight before reaching the door.

"Anyone want to bet Roz's wizard friend might have had something to do with all this? And by the way, we need to hire a crew to come take all those volumes out of the library. Those tomes are priceless. It wouldn't shock me if we all get entries int he next publication for this discovery. It's a good one," she smiles.

![]() |

"Pfft, a crew? Waste of money. I'll just make Snave do all of that. I did bother to buy him a harness so his weakness isn't so bad that he can't carry someone as light as me when floating around."

"This place is definitely worth extensive study." Maddie nods in agreement with Pai's assessement, "Why that man keeps fading in and out of existence, for instance."

![]() |

"No, I think he is--how would you say this? He is unstuck in time. That is how he could be here, after we met him, but not remember us." The Varisian pauses, struck by a thought. "Unless that is not him outside, but someone else who may have been imprisoned here?"

![]() |

"If what you say is true, I wonder if we will suffer the same fate, or at least will leave some type of imprint." Maddie muses about the situation, with more curiosity than dread.

Barlor lets out a low bear moan, and Ing scratches around, unsure of what to make of the larger, somewhat furrier version of the dwarf.

"The only way we can find out more about his condition is to keep heading out and exploring what's left of this dungeon. Maybe if we can't find anything else, we can come back and do some research in the library here. There might be answers in front of us that we have to find in a book."

DM Rah |

The door is checked and cleared, and found to be unlocked. Opening it, you look in upon a laboratory.
Fresh blood splatters the white tile of the chamber, which is lit by mirrored lamps hung from chains suspended in the shadows of the distant ceiling. A sturdy wooden table near the center of the room holds the lightning-charred corpse of a bald human man with a broom-bottom beard. Smaller tables and bookcases nearby hold the gore-spattered spoils of a recent battle.
Standing near the table is a dark-haired man in fine red robes, carrying a staff. Beside him is a large creature that looks like a skinless cat. Despite his dubious surroundings, the man smiles warmly. "I assume you were sent by Rozimus, yes?"

![]() |

"Let me guess. Are you Ozrion? Rozimus is the reason we are exploring this realm. Tell us more about his condition and that of the rest of your group. I bet you know exactly what's happening."

"Yes, we are Pathfinders exploring the complex on behalf of the Society with the assistance of Rozimus, so anything you can tell us about this place and the current circumstances of you and your fellows would be greatly appreciated." "The corpse on this table is Ozrian." The man in red replies. "He was killed by a guardian left by my master, Nhur Athemon."
With a slight bow, he explains himself. "My name is Togarin. The one you know as Rozimus was a ruse devised by one of my fellow apprentices, a brilliant schemer named Vuzhon. She escaped Nhur Athemon’s time lock by riding Rozimus’s body to safety. I assume she arranged for you to return, but only so that she and Draegos, another apprentice trapped here, might escape the same way."
“Vuzhon is clever,” Togarin continues, but holds up a finger in warning, “but I know more about souls and immortality than she does. So long as her true body remains affected by the time lock and her mind is in normal time, the magic jar allowing her to possess Rozimus will never expire. But should the time lock fail, all the time delayed by this place will age her thousands of years in a moment. Her true body will crumble to dust, her spell will fail, and she will perish. I will not let that happen to me. The only real way out for any of us is to destroy the time lock, and the best way to do that is to create a paradox."

![]() |

"Is there anything we can do to help create a paradox and assist with destroying the time lock? I know I don't want to be stuck here forever! No offense, of course, Togarin."
