Round 12. Vethran.

As with the Eberron game, could someone (possibly separate someones) take both Illes and Vethran's turn. Vethran is up next.

Vethran 18+ (30' altitude)
Yrthak 1 17 (50' altitude)
Yrthak 2 12++
Alwyn 12+
Camlo 12
Sefayll 12-
Something else 10
Hudak 4+
Illes 4

Maintaining altitude for the moment, Vethran moves toward the river to see what awaits.

If I counted correctly, he can make AP35 with two 60' moves.

He's also Hasted, so his movement rate is 90'

Ah, forgot that applied to the fly speed, sorry. He should be able to make it to AV45 in that case. If he's higher than the lumbermill is tall, he will descend as he goes. He doesn't want to be on the ground, but he wants to use the building as cover. Or I think he does.

I'll say he maintains 30' altitude.

Vethran moves up as the charmed yrthak sails away over the river. Looking about, he sees another pair of giants down by the Two Night Brewery, and he transmits the information to Illes through the telepathic link.

Yrthak 1 out of the picture for now.

Alwyn.

Male Human (Shoanti) Cleric 11

Move to AC-AD 58-59 before casting Holy smite on Giants 4 and 5. They are blinded and take damage 5d6=20, Will 20 halves the damage and negates the blinding.

Giant 4 Will save 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
Giant 5 Will save 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14

One giant howls as Alwyn's spell burns his eyes, but the other blinks, looks up slowly and glowers across the street that divines him from the Shoanti.

Camlo.

cool. 65 hp. I can roll up on these giants...

Camlo.

Male Halfling Rogue/11 AC:26 HP: 92{92}

Sorry, stupid computer signed out and I didn't realise. Didn't see updates!

Camlo will double move forward, to AR47 unless I'm still hasted, then it's AR53

The spell is still ongoing as far as I know. Hopefully someone knows when it'll end.

It was extended to 18 rounds. Six rounds were spent moving, then 12 rounds of combat, so I believe this is the final round.

Let me check that to confirm.

Actually, checking back, I think you had three rounds of movement before the encounters kicked off. The six rounds was how long it would take to get to the wall, but you never got there. So this should be round 15 for the Haste, round 12 for the combat. All part of the DM service.

That is the part I find hardest about running online games. I Almost want to run maptools or something just too keep track!

I have considered using my Fantasy Grounds to keep track, but I haven't jumped into a game on the scale of Aubrey or Heathy, so I haven't tested the thought yet.

Thank you for the verification of the rounds used, sir.

Sorry about the last post - I wasn't paying attention and thought it was the discussion thread.

Sefayll moves past Hudak and hustles down the alley between the buildings before coming out near Alwyn but out of sight of the giants.

AJ62

A cacophony breaks out - gravelly giant voices yelling and the sound of smashing timbers - down by the brewery.

If you speak Giant:

Spoiler:
"Give us your beer! Beer or death!"

Hudak.

Grand Lodge

16 hours / day, 7 days per week.
This is my first day off in over two months of doing about 110-115 hours a week. I'm reading up on all pbp's today and will be back in from today. I'm not dropping down to a normal level of work per se, but a more reasonable one and I've gotten so used to the brutal system that it feels like I have free time in doing so :P

Sorry for the extended absence. I certainly did not anticipate things to go like that, but I think the framework is in place now so that I can pull back more and more and let it run on its own.

No worries - tasty treats wait for no man.

HP 78/67, AC 26, T 14, FF 23, CMD 21 Performance 37/37 CHA DAMAGE: 5

A swarm of relatively tiny Illes come running down the main street behind the giant Shoanti brothers. "Haha! It sounds like at least some of these giants prefer beer to bloodshed!"

Double hasted move to AA56. 120 ft.
Haste: 3 rounds remaining (+1 AC, +1 attack. +1 reflex)
Mirror Image: 4 Images remaining
Good Hope: Illes, Hudak, Alwyn Sefyall: +2 attack, +2 weapon damage, +2 saves, +2 ability checks, +2 skill checks
Hungover: -2 skills, -2 saves
Hasty Armor: -1 AC, +1 ACP

Male Human (Varisian) Wizard (Evoker) 9

I am still around, just waiting for my next turn. :)

Jeez, man, we waited weeks just so you could do a double-move? Talk about let-down...

One giant just blunders about, howling at his blindness. The other raises the horn in his hand to his lips and blows a quick, low but penetrating note before heading south into the market place.

Map updated.

And now, indeed, it is Veth's turn. Round 13 - unlucky for some, probably the giants.

male Human Shoanti Fighter 10 xp 80962

"GRAAAAAH!!!"

Male Human (Varisian) Wizard (Evoker) 9

Vethran turns in the wind, sailing down High Street to view the commotion happening near the Market. Move to AJ45, maintain 30' altitude.

With a sweeping gesture, the mage unleashes another flaming bead that explodes in the middle of the street, searing flesh and scorching stone.

Fireball centered at AC-AD/80-81, which should catch both giants there. 10d6 + 4 ⇒ (5, 6, 5, 4, 2, 3, 3, 1, 6, 3) + 4 = 42 fire damage, Reflex DC 21 for half. I don't remember if blindness imposes a penalty on Reflex or not...

Giant 4 Reflex Save 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
Giant 5 Reflex Save 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25

The giant blinded by Alwyn finds plenty more to howl about is he is scorched by Vethran's spell. The other takes the full blast before he can duck into the shelter of the alley mouth.

The second yrthak then swoops on to the scene, summoned by the giant's horn blast. It homes in on the temptingly airborne target that is Vethran.

Double move from him.

Initiative:
Vethran 18+ (30' altitude)

With a roar, Alwyn charges the blind giant.

Charge to AD-AE 74-75. Attack roll 11+10+1(haste)+2(good hope)+2(charge)-2(Power Attack)=AC 24, damage 3d6+7+2(good hope)+6(Power Attack)+4(destructive smite ability)=31.

Male Halfling Rogue/11 AC:26 HP: 92{92}

Sefayll, seeing a new yrthak, decides to try something different. Calling on the power of her helm, she attempts to detect thoughts on the creature to see how intelligent it is - and possibly why it's here.

Sefayll Valerian wrote:

Sefayll's helm registers the presence of the yrthak as a thinking being, but she will need to concentrate to read its thoughts.

That will take a few rounds, per the spell description.

AoO on Alwyn from the blind giant:
1d20 + 16 - 5 ⇒ (19) + 16 - 5 = 30 to hit, damage 2d8 + 12 ⇒ (1, 5) + 12 = 18

By blind chance the giant flicks his club around just as Alwyn pounds into range. But Alwyn's blow rocks the creature back on his heels.

Drawn by the sound of the horn, the giants by the brewery enter the market square in time to see Alwyn hack at their compatriot. They roar in fury and brandish their clubs.

Hudak.

Illes glances back mid run when the blind dragon screeches expecting to see it homing in on him and the giant brothers. Instead he sees it swooping down at Vethran.

The bard wheels around immediately running at superhuman speed directly at the Yrthak. From just below it on the ground Illes calls up in Giant, "Hey you sorry excuse for a third rate dragon knock off! Why don't you bring your blind ass down here for a little dance?"

I'll do that if I can......stop at AF-AG 73-74.

Re the AoO, it doesn't matter, Alwyn already kindly soaked that up.

The giant doesn't see it coming - quite literally. Then he is cut in half by Nualia's Tongue from shoulder to groin, the street sprayed with blood and viscera. Hudak is soaked in gore, the bringer of carnage. The other giants visibly flinch.

Yrthak Will save 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16

The yrthak croaks in extreme distress. Illes is now worried - he knows what this spell can do, and realises he's about to be over-flown by an affected creature.

The giant squeezes down the alley and out of sight.
