I didn't participate in the playtest but this is probably the baseline information to go off of here.

Here ought to be the link to the debrief. I also do think the first post in a thread ought to make slightly more of an effort than just ask others "what do you think," if only by giving an opinion on the subject.
Based on the debrief, it sounds like the Necromancer will stay largely as-is, except have more spells suited to life and death that'd fill out the occult list, as well as more feat options for martial and pet-based builds. As for the Runesmith, it sounds like they'll be getting some changes to make tracing a bit simpler, with expansions to their existing runes. I'm personally fine with this at this stage, though I do think the Runesmith in particular needs a bit of work to play more smoothly. Hopefully, with some smart changes to their key mechanics and some more feat options, they'll turn out more satisfying on-release.

One thing I loved about the necromancer and really hope makes it to the final product in some way is osteo armaments. The ability to create sort of disposable weapons with fundamental runes is so extremely cool and something I've been wanting since release. I would also be okay if runesmith got something like it instead; something like being able to cast runic weapon/body heightened to half your level at will on yourself/weapons you hold (the at will part starting at heightened rank 3, since at will runic weapon pre level 4 would be unfair).
But mostly I really just want to hear something about the book. It's been a tough waiting period for me, since I find the current 'story arc' not to my tastes and monster core 2 and all the 'mostly remastered old stuff' books we've been getting not especially exciting. Starfinder also needs more time, more options, for me to get excited about it.

That playtest was from December of last year, right? Any idea when we're getting the next one?
Nothing has been made public that I'm aware of about a new playtest or classes after this one. We don't tend to know about those very far in advance of them coming out.
The book for the classes in this playtest is supposed to come out in 2026 sometime IIRC. Given Paizo's past release history of always having something new at Gencon, that would be a decent guess.

Yeah as I recall what happened was Impossible got moved up earlier to make space for Tech Core.

Another oddity is that we were promised a playtest for the Starship Rules in Tech Core which most people predict to also be released at GenCon. Given times to print even if we see it in January they’re cutting that awfully close.
I'm assuming Tech Core won't be out until AFTER Galactic Ancestries.

Gen Con is after Tech Core, but there’s almost no time to do a two month playtest, analyze and implement data, and still send it off to the printers in time for defensive slack in their distribution to be 99% nothing (e.g. another tariff flare up) disrupts the books before GenCon.

Yes the Paizo Lives are the first Friday of every month, but due to unforeseen circumstances it was delayed to this coming Friday.

We were told there would be a playtest for the Starship rules, but if I remember correctly, the Starship Rules aren't going to be in Tech Core.

According to the GM Core, tactical spaceship combat and upgradable ships are coming in Tech Core.

Do we have a definite date for Tech Core yet? It could have been pushed back to make room for the playtest.
The only thing officially announced is the ancestry book. I assume tech core was aimed around gencon time but it could be later if they want more play test time before finalizing it.

https://paizo.com/releasedate runs through march 2026 and there's no mention of tech core... or any major new PF2 rulebook release (there's a new lost omens book in march though).
Hard to say if anything's been pushed because or not because all we know is it exists and there is/was supposed to be a ship playtest. Paizo's been even less talkative than normal post sf2/battlecry/draconic codex.

Another paizo live come and gone, no impossible book announcement. Adventures look neat at least.
Impossible wait continues. The final hint last night said next live would talk about two remastered products and one new one, so my copium is that it'll be the next one. Curious what was meant by "two remastered products": the whole of Secrets of Magic and Book of the Dead or those classes and some of those archetypes rolling into the impossible book?

We were told they wanted to do one, which is different than necessarily having the time to pull it off.

I'd love a remastering of Book of the Dead. Skeleton needs a way to gain the advanced undead benefits, and I wouldn't mind seeing the other undead archetypes get a bit of a push, particularly Lich and Vampire. (I like them well enough as is, but I wouldn't say no to some tweaking, either.)
A few of the archetypes have errors in them that need fixing, the Hallowed Necromancer has some weird prereqs from what I recall, and I'd also be interested to see what they do with the bestiary's remastering. We had a few neutral undead in that book, and having more undead lacking the Unholy trait would be neat. Also, some of those undead have already been reprinted and remastered, such as the Darvakkas, so I'd be curious to see if they'd be printed in the book all over again, or if they'd be replaced with other undead.

Yeah, to put more detail on that—Season of Ghosts and Seven Dooms for Sandpoint were both written before the OGL crisis, but both were deep in development DURING the OGL crisis.
As a result, things got complicated for a bit.
For Season of Ghosts, I basically started over my already-in-progress development and was able to adjust out the OGL-only monsters—of which there weren't many at all. The end result was an OGL Adventure Path that ended up being pretty easy to remaster later.'
For Seven Dooms, there was a point (basically all of January) where it was looking like the entire adventure was going to get cancelled and we'd skip several months while we got things in order with the Adventure Path line, but fortunately by the end of January it was apparent that the situation had reversed course in a way that would allow us to continue using the OGL and to continue to keep OGL products in print, so we decided there to make Seven Dooms the last OGL Adventure Path, which meant it got to get published as intended.
Wardens of Wildwood was mostly written before it as well, along with Curtain Call, but for those, we were able to develop them earlier as ORC adventures. Was stilly pretty tough though, especially since we had to remaster those Adventure Paths using remastered rules that were still being remastered.
