The Tian Xia World Guide's entry on Xidao mentions "lutings" as an ancestry present there, but I can't find the word in the glossary, in my other Pathfinder books, Archive of Nethys, or on Google. Does anyone else know anything about them? I guess they could be elaborated on in the Character Guide, but all of the ancestries in that have already been announced.

Given that the first mention of Conrasu, Golomas, and Shisks was in a brief line like this, I have every reason to believe it's the same kind of future-hinting.
And as a reminder: when these "future-hinting" lines were written, nobody, even the writer, knew what they actually were. xD
So it's entirely possible that NOBODY know what this is, even people working at Paizo, or that wrote that sentence. xDCause it already happened. :P

True, but those 3 were also noted as being rare even in the Mwangi Expanse, whereas lutings are said to be somewhat common in parts of Xidao (enough that they're in the list of Peoples in the opening page). I suspect it'll be less than 2 years before we know what these are, though maybe that or much more before they're playable (if ever).

I highly doubt we're getting playable half-manananggals in LO:TXCG, even if the ancestries & V. Heritages were already stated. Just think of that the same way you'd think about a half-dragon or half-fiend (which I guess means we could get a tanngal-themed V. Heritage one day - all be it I find that unlikely, but even then it wouldn't be called "half-tanngal")

I did some looking around and it seems Luting is a type of South Chinese mythological fish-person?
Intriguing that they would be separate from Athamaru which seem to match the drawings.
Guessing it’s an opening for a variation to Athamaru, kinda like Goblin/Hobgoblin and Minotaur/Sarangay.
That makes sense. "Lutings" might well be the Golarion version of the Lo Tings.
