Lore Changes

I really want to Know if they're going to be any massive changes to the lore in the new edition or is it likely to stay the same

Depends on what you mean by that. There's going to be eight years of the timeline advancing, and maybe just a bit of touching up things here and there because of leaving the OGL. Notably, Aucturn is "hatching" during the playtest and at least one world of the Veskarium is fighting for independence. But the same history that SF1 had will still be part of the history of SF2, the rest of the planets in the Pact Worlds are the same planets, Golarion is still gone and will stay gone, etc.

The other thing we are likely to see is the fall out of the drift lanes appearing. The Veskarium having 4 drift lanes connected to it, and one of them being the Azlanti, sounds like war drums to me. Swarm Space having a drift lane too, not good for whoever is on the other end of that.

I'm not sure Golarion is completely off the table. I don't think it will replace Abslom Station but could reappear someplace else maybe in a completely different star system. Or we might just find out more about its disappearance. I don't see the Gap going away but our understanding of how the two timelines connect might become clearer.

Drow are going to be reimagined in some fashion.

Considering Orc's relationship to Drow in Starfinder I can see them getting a background story makeover too. With the rise of the ORC after the OGL mess I can see Orc's having a more positive future in SF2e.

Thanks for the info, I also want to know it.

I imagine that a lot of Adventure Path and Society plotlines are also going to be incorporated into the baseline setting (with the assumptions that PCs succeeded on any given one), the way that they were for Pathfinder.

We don't know the specifics there exactly, though.

It would be funny to see an alternative baseline using the assumption all plotline missions had failed. Would be a fun way to show what we had saved the galaxy from becoming.
