Evil champion reaction

Advice

Looking for opinions on the best Champion reaction for a caster character. Would only be dipping into Champion for this evil reaction.

Iron command and selfless shield are okay, destructive vengeance is really bad. Keep in mind that they only work if the enemy is within 15 feet of you, so if the main way you're taking damage is from ranged attacks they don't help that much.

As a caster you're not going to have the hit points to suffer Destructive Vengeance. For pure damage reduction, Selfish Shield's best. But if you want your enemy to be dropped prone or take damage in retaliation go for Iron Command.

But as Meatshed said, this won't help if an enemy is damaging you from more than fifteen feet away.

Hmm so I Guess it really depends on party composition. If we had a team with multiple Attack of Opportunists, then Iron Command would likely be the play? Otherwise Selfless Shield?

Not really, even without attack of opportunity people will usually prefer taking the small amount of mental damage over going prone unless they have enough actions to just stand up and hit you again, but they will probably always prefer taking the mental damage over going prone next to someone with AoO. Iron command is nice to push a little bit of damage with a little bit of control, selfless shield is nice to help you not die.

One question here, with alignments all gone, can a cleric with a healing font grab Champion dedication for Iron Command or would that not be allowed?

It has less to do with your Font, and more to do with your deity, its clauses, and tenets.

Like, those are the tenets for Obedience:

Quote:

Society is ordered with good reason, and people should conduct themselves as appropriate for their proper place.

Edicts
enforce proper hierarchies, topple illegitimate hierarchies, lead when you’re the most suited to the task
Anathema
let one who is lesser than you wield power over you or lead you

If your deity messes well with them, you can. But if you worship someone like Cayden, you'll be hard pressed to find that enforcing Obedience to you is like, ok with him.

Oh I see, the deity in question would be Narriseminek

I'd personally say no because one of his Edicts is:

Quote:
rebel against organized structures
Which sounds the opposite of Obedience which is
Quote:
enforce proper hierarchies

But ultimately, ask your GM.
