So RoE produced a new Primal cantrip called Glass Shield, which is also shared with the Arcane list. It says that it functions "like the Shield cantrip," but even with similar mechanics, I am confused as to the direct similarities it shares.
1. If I use Shield Block with Glass Shield, does this also lock me out of the Shield cantrip, should I also have access to it (from another source), and vice-versa, or is this limitation specifically for locking you out of the same exact spell (i.e. can't use Glass Shield twice in a row)?
2. If I am targeted with Magic Missiles while using Glass Shield, can it be used to block the damage like the original Shield spell, or is this an unintended oversight?

Glass Shield's description doesn't say anything about locking out Shield or vice versa, so I wouldn't. They are two different cantrips, and must be prepared or included in one's repertoire separately so the cost for having two shield spells is the opportunity to have other cantrips
Glass Shield says, "This cantrip functions as the shield spell, except it has Hardness 2 and 4 Hit Points," and then describes its shatter retribution mechanics. Nothing suggests it can't be used to shield block magic missile, so it can. I wouldn't even consider it an "unintended oversight" unless there's something about that interaction I'm unaware of

They didn't butcher Shocking Grasp, they completely replaced it with a different spell. Magic Missile on the other hand has just been renamed to Force Barrage, and functions exactly the same. These changes were mentioned in the Core Preview and recent blog post.
As for the Shield spell, unless they released a teaser I don't know about, we will have to wait until Player Core is released to see what happens to it.

Well, okay, sure that's true but that's sort of my point. They took the raw materials in the form of Shocking Grasp and carved it all to hell and decided to reform and reflavor it into something else while effectively only retaining the Spell Level (tier) and Electricity damage.
I didn't see any reveal for Shield or whatever will repace it (which I do think is likely given just HOW tied to MM it is in terms of legacy/function and that we know MM was probably the FIRST item on the chopping block for the Remaster) I missed some preview showcase or leak that showed that Shield is being retained, the new description for it (and likely name), and also the specific way the Magic Missile replacement then I'm not too sure that its a safe bet to say that the spell will continue to even exist in any meaningful form let alone still include the blanket protection from whatever the MM replacement it.

Considering that the Glass Shield cantrip as it is currently printed in Rage of Elements references the Shield cantrip, I'm guessing that they are going to still have Shield in Player Core. Because otherwise they are going to have to reprint Rage of Elements.
It may be possible that Shield - and therefore Glass Shield that references it - will have a bit different mechanics. But I am not sure why it would need to.

Given the way they butchered Shocking Grasp, I am highly doubtful the MM replacement will functionally even be filling the same "always hits, reliable damage, force spell, all day staple" niche that MM currently does let alone it getting an honorable mention on the Shield Spell.
Look, I understand your frustrations with some of the changes with the Remaster, but I am asking more from an "existing rules" standpoint and not a "how will this work when the rules change" standpoint, so speculation on the Remaster changes, if any, aren't helpful to the discussion.

Probably but still use your ability mod.
RoE got a rushed change to be a post-remaster book. This made some many typos and other things needing to be errata. Yet while this won't happen the text that is there still valid and probably this errata will take a while once there are many other books needing to get some post-remaster errata too and the design team is currently focused in PC2 and Monster Core.
