uncanny cheeks and implausible purchase

Rules Discussion

Hello, is it possible for an investigator ratfolk with uncanny cheeks to take the implausible purchase feat ?

Thanks for your future answer.

No. Implausible Purchase requires Predictive Purchase and Predictive Purchase isn't the same of Prescient Planner and Prescient Consumable because it reduces the activity time from 1 minute to 2-actions!

That said if you are playing as an ysoki I see no problem to an Investigator with Implausible Purchase + Predictive Purchase to take the item from cheeks for fun once it's qualify as "similar container".

Horizon Hunters

Implausible Purchase has the prerequisite of Predictive Purchase. You can take both Predictive Purchase and Uncanny Cheeks on a ratfolk, but due to Uncanny Cheeks you will always withdraw the objects from your cheek pouches, though it would still only be two actions rather than 1 minute. Implausible Purchase can then lower that to a single action, as well as all other changes the feat makes.

I would agree with that.

The Uncanny Cheeks ancestry feat looks very similar to the class feat Predictive Purchase. But they are not the same feat. They have a different name, and a different character build slot. They also have slightly different mechanics in the amount of time it takes.

So no, I wouldn't allow the class feat Implausible Purchase to have its requirements met by an Ancestry feat. You do have to actually take the prerequisite class feat.

Also, from the way Uncanny Cheeks and Predictive Purchase work - by giving other feats - it doesn't look like there is much of a valid argument for being allowed to use the ability twice as often by having both Uncanny Cheeks and Predictive Purchase. Each feat would try to give the character the same bonus feats and none of them have a special line saying that you can get the feat multiple times. So it becomes redundant and the effects don't stack.
