I need a replacement for a beholder in Pathfinder. Preferably some kind of aberration that has equivalent abilities and CR.
Stupider question, but if you want something with the same abilities and Cr, why not just use a beholder? If you don't want your players to know what they're up against, just describe it as something else?
Yeah, so maybe Pathfinder can't publish one, but nobody is going to sue you for using one.

You could advance a brain ooze (CR7, Tiny ooze, NE, Bestiary 3) and add a few unexpected abilities.
Then there's the augur kyton (CR2, Tiny outsider, LE, Bestiary 3) that's basically a wad of gore and misery wrapped in scrap metal. There's a lot more room for customization with this one.
Good, but I was looking for something very intelligent, several spell-like abilities, some kind of anti-magic, flying, and still have nasty natural weapons. CR 11 would do the trick.
A lower CR could be augmented with class levels or templates.
Yes, I am converting an old module which I will be making a free download and using personally.
Maybe a demilich (CR14, tiny undead, NE, Bestiary 3) with a few changes:
- lose rejuvenation, torpor, immunity to magic, and devour soul
- add an antimagic cone/burst/etc. attack
- add a few mohrg-tongue attacks
I was going to mention that one, myself, or this guy: neh-thalggu.
I can't wait to unleash this freak on my own party.
