As to why my character is still barely an ancillae when by embrace date he should be an elder, after the events of 1444 he tried to experiment with a magical cure for his vampirism that involved complete immersion in quintessence at a node while a mage friend from his breathing days tried to restore him with the life sphere. The resulting explosion killed his mage friend and left him in torpor for centuries until he was pulled by mystic forces from torpor in 1666 and was compelled to rejoin with the other children of Isaac. After the events of 1666, he went on a quest that lasted nearly a year to try to cure his vampirism that took him to the deep umbra trying to find Pangea and ultimately to the gates of Arcadia where he was denied entrance to the realm of the fea. When he felt a mystic pull to return to the material plane it wasn’t a year that had passed it was nearly two centuries as time had passed differently. After the events of 1888 he has remained with the Tremere until the beginning of the chronicle in 19**.
Do we post the draft character sheets here for storyteller review?
OK, sounds good, history tied to Giovanni Chronicles, makes sense!
No, hold off posting stats until the thread is up. I will have it up in the next several days.

The PC builds using V20 rules:Attributes - 8/6/4
Abilities - 17/12/7
Disciplines - 7 (you can spend 1 point on non-Clan Celerity/Fortitude/Potence if you so choose)
Backgrounds - 8
Virtues - 7
Freebies - 22
Merits up to 7 points
Flaws up to 7 points
Starting Generation 12th (you can go as low as 7th)
[PCs take 1 Ritual per dot in Thaumaturgy including Paths - so if you take a 4 Thaumaturgy and 3 Movement of the Mind - you take 2 1st, 2 2nd, 2 3rd and 1 4th level Ritual].Your history is not terribly important but feel free to draft one if you wish, you can be from anywhere in the world as the PCs will be assembled in Vienna at the start of the Chronicle. If you wish to take a non-Clan Discipline besides the physical ones, that will need to be in a Background and make sense.
I'll get an actual gameplay thread up by next weekend and the PCs can build in the Recruitment thread there.
Are there any V20 books that are off limits for character creation? Looking at Lore of the Clans and Rites of the Blood specifically.

No, I own those so go ahead and use them.
If you want to use anything else, let me know, as I don't own everything from V20.
For Tremere especially, I expect a very unique set of characters.

Okay so starting in 1910. Got it.
- What skill changes are you planning to use? Computer would obviously be pretty useless at this juncture and drive would be far less common.
- For Thaumaturgy, are you requiring us to have the Path of Blood as our Primary Path? If not, I was leaning toward the Path of Conjuring and Auspex as the majority of my starting discipline dots - might even forgo Dominate all together.
- Is there a location you have in mind for us to be starting in, or will it be more of a "Here is your mission on behalf of Vienna" and we gather together on the scene?

My character has a reason for path of blood being his secondary path and not his primary path due to the circumstances of his embrace and initial lack of formal training as well as his prior history as a forces adept of house flambeau. So I was also planning on having a path other than blood as the primary.

I have to contemplate skills, I might even throw back to Victorian Age Vampire and see what is utilized there (that book is in the room where my wife is sleeping so that will have to be a tomorrow post).
For Thaumaturgy ANY Path can be primary. Blood Magic (traditional Thaumaturgy) can be secondary or you don't have to take it at all if you don't want to.
dr. kekyll, answered the final question for me:-). The chronicle will start with you all arriving to the Prime Chantry to meet with the Tremere Elder who requested the assembly, his identity will be revealed once gameplay begins.

Unlike my Dark Ages game, which is about to be pulled out of torpor, this game follows Vampire canon as published (we may make changes as part of gameplay but that is to be expected). So for your histories, assume that Camarilla and Sabbat control the cities that they did circa first edition. (Note that LA is not an Anarch Free State until the 1940s and the Brujah Council has not yet formed in Russia as we are pre WWI).
